Jinx Melee: RV 30 Coordination: RV 30 Brawn: RV 6 Fortitude: RV 20 Intellect: RV 10 Awareness: RV 40 Willpower: RV 30 Health: 86 Fortune: 80 Lifestyle: RV 30 Repute: RV +5 Origin: As is the case with most members of the GI Joe team, Jinx is naught but a normal human - strictly speaking, anyway. While she has no special powers, Jinx has highly advanced hand-to-hand combat training thanks to the Arashikage ninja clan (the 'family business'). Known Powers: (none) Limitations / Enhancements: (none) Equipment: Katanas: while she prefers her naginata, Jinx can also effectively wield her swords in a fight, as well. She can use these two shorter sword blades to inflict her Brawn value +1 RS in Slashing damage with every deadly strike, and can actually handle two of them at once! Naginata: Jinx's weapon of choice, she can wield this double bladed, staff-like weapon with ease. A two-handed weapon, Jinx inflicts her Brawn +1 RS in either Bashing or Slashing damage with a naginata, depending on if she hits with the flat or edge of her blades. Shuriken: because sometimes you need just a bit of range, Jinx usually has at least two shuriken on her person at any given time. She can fling these short, disc-like weapons to inflict her Brawn value in Thrown Edged damage, easily hitting targets within a one sector range. Quirks: Jinxed (cartoon variant): Jinx didn't get her code name for nothing. Every tenth die roll that someone else makes around her will have the result altered, with the digit of lower value coming first - which is why some Joes don't like working with her if they can help it. Skills: Acrobatics 2: possessing a grace almost unheard of, Jinx is able to move in a seemingly liquid fashion. She should receive a +2 RS on any maneuver intended to dodge, escape, evade, feint, or weave attacks, and can walk most tightropes and narrow ledges with ease. Climbing: furthermore, Jinx can ascend and descend vertical surfaces as if she were a natural-born mountain climber. She may add a +2 RS to any climbing attempts (in either an up or down direction), raised to +3 RS if she has the benefit of climbing equipment to assist her. Crime: Jinx is a ninja! While she's not criminally minded, per se, she can definitely skulk around with the best of them. She should receive a +1 RS to the applicable trait when she's attempting to hide, blend in, open locks, or pick pockets. Detective / Espionage: after her original stint with the military, Jinx worked for the CIA for a short while. During this time, she acquired additional skills in intelligence matters, and should receive a +1 RS in matters of information extraction - whether passive or active. Guns: though she doesn't need it, nor does she ever use it, Jinx has been trained in the art of gunplay by the Army. She may fire any standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol as if her Coordination was +1 RS higher than is listed above. Languages / English and Japanese: officially, Jinx worked as a translator for both the Army and the CIA, though she naturally had other duties for both government agencies. Nonetheless, she can read, write, and speak in both of these languages with ease. Martial Arts styles A, B, D and E: once again, Jinx is a ninja! She receives a +1 initiative modifier and a +1 RS to hit in unarmed melee, and may Pound or Concuss a foe regardless of her comparative Brawn or Fortitude traits, ignoring Body Armor for such after two rounds of study. Military / United States: after returning to America upon the dissolution of the Arashikage ninja clan, Jinx enlisted in the Army. As such, she knows the SOP in an almost instinctual manner, and can easily integrate herself into a martial environment when necessary. Martial Arts Weapons: it may not be much of a surprise, but as a ninja Jinx has trained extensively in the use of various weapons with origins in the Orient. She may use such weapons, including crossbows, kris, katana, sais, shuriken, and even washizashi at no penalty. Skill / Naginata: while she can use most Oriental weapons with competence, Jinx excels in the use of her naginata. She may wield it or any similar weapon as though her Melee trait was +2 RS higher than is listed above, either while intact or split in half. Skill / Swords: similarly, Jinx is well-versed in the use of most swords, whether her shorter blades or longer ones like a broad sword. She can wield these weapons at her Melee trait +1 RS, raised to +2 RS if they are made in an Oriental style. Two Weapons: Jinx has trained extensively in the art of wielding two weapons simultaneously. She can do this with either swords or her naginata, which is often broken into two pieces (though not by her), allowing either a bonus attack with them or a 'bursting' maneuver. Contacts: Jinx is a member of the GI Joe team with strong links to both the Ninja Force and the Tiger Force, two 'elite' groups within that organization which are very tightly-knit. She also has several additional contacts in the form of surviving Arashikage ninja clan members. Costume: Jinx wears a rather conspicuous costume as a GI Joe operative. It includes a loose-fitting pair of red trousers, a loose-fitting, long-sleeved red robe with a dragon emblem over the left breast, soft red shoes, a black belt, and a red hood she often takes off to wear a blindfold, instead. Personality: Jinx is one of the nicest, most outgoing people you're ever likely to meet. Why, you'd hardly ever guess she was one of the single most deadly people on earth today. Though highly skilled in the lethal arts, Jinx does not bring them to bear unless absolutely necessary. Real Name: Kimi Arashikage Occupation: interpreter, file clerk, ninja Legal Status: dual citizen of the United States and Japan with no known criminal record Marital Status: single Alias(es), if any: innumerable Group Affiliation: GI Joe, Ninja Force (GI Joe sub-group), Tiger Force (GI Joe sub-group) Height: 5' 5" Hair: black Eyes: brown Weight: 101 lbs Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Jinx has the Arasikage ninja clan emblem tattooed on her arm. Story: Jinx comes from a long line of Arashikage ninjas, martial artists of the highest caliber. Though her parents were completely with the clan, they felt it a good idea to move to America for reasons unknown, and Jinx spent her early childhood unaware of her heritage. Of course, this all changed when upon her seventh birthday, her family returned to Japan for a time. Once she was told what her history was, Jinx decided to follow the family traditions, and excelled in multiple martial arts styles throughout her high school years. Upon her graduation from high school, Jinx was brought into the Arashikage clan as a full member, and continued her training at their ninja compound in Japan until calamity - wrought by Cobra - broke the clan up. Jinx then returned to the States to continue her career. In addition to spending time training with the Arashikage Blind Master, Jinx also served time in the United States Army, and it is believed that she spent at least a little bit of time working for the CIA This continued until she was recruited onto the GI Joe team by Hawk. Jinx proved her capabilities time and time again with the Joes, either on her own or when working with her various teammates. She has shown that in addition to being an incredibly deadly combatant, her infiltration and espionage skills are second to none. She has served on several of the GI Joe group's 'special teams' in her day, such as its Ninja Force (alongside several other members of the Arashikage clan, including her cousin Storm Shadow) and its Tiger Force, both of which prove just how useful the Joes find her. (Historical Divergence) When the Joes were deactivated for a time, Jinx moved to Japan again, and began a bounty hunter and bail bondsman business with fellow Joe and romantic interest Budo - even though their diametrically opposed disciplines causes them tension now and then. Although the GI Joe team has since been reactivated, Jinx has chosen to stay in the land of her birth, though she's more than happy to lend a hand to the team whenever they need her experience. This happens more often than not, with Cobra occasionally up to no good in Japan. When she's not helping the Joes, she's rounding up all manner of criminals with Budo, and the two have a reputation for being very, very good at what they do. But then they are former Joes, as well as master martial artists, so what else did you expect? * 2003 VARIATIONS * Costume: Jinx's Tiger Force uniform is comprised of a loose-fitting green trousers with orange tiger stripes, a loose-fitting, long-sleeved green robe with both orange tiger stripes and a black dragon emblem over the left breast, soft green shoes, a yellow belt, and a green hood. * 2004 VARIATIONS * Equipment: Dagger: when she needs to cut someone or something and needs her other hand free, Jinx often uses this. Strapped to her forearms, hence the name, they operate just like swords, but require less space to wield in a like fashion. Jinx can use this device to ascend walls, cliffs, or other structures even easier than is normal for her, making a path of sorts for others all the while. She can spin this implement to strike in such a fashion that it inflicts her Brawn +1 RS in Bashing damage.
