Ferrets Strength Agility Intellect Willpower 6d 4a 4d 6d Hand Size: 2 (10) Edge: 0 Origin: Ferrets are but normal humans, lacking special powers of any variety. They do have access to a vast assortment of high tech implements as members of Destro's personal army, the Iron Grenadiers, however. As such, they can be considered high tech villains, more or less. Powers: (none) Hindrances / Augmentations: (none) Equipment: DEMONs (i): their primary instrument with which to destroy their enemies, each Ferret is assigned his or her very own Dual Elevating Multi-Ordnance Neutralizer, or DEMON. This high-velocity tracked assault vehicle is described in full detail within its own entry. Body Armor (s): in addition to obscuring their features entirely, the Ferrets' field uniform acts as a form of armor! It provides most of their body intensity 4, or +1, protection from physical attack, though this is raised up to intensity 8, or +2, around their helmeted head. Laser Pistol (a): a highly advanced sidearm, this weapon serves as a backup piece for the Iron Grenaders' Ferrets. They may fire a beam of coherent photons from it at their foes to inflict their Agility +4 in Armor Piercing energy damage, doing so six times per charged power pack. Skills: Advanced Guns (a): carrying directed energy weapons in the field, Ferrets are well-trained in their proper usage. Whether handling coherent laser emitters, ionized particle blasters, or any other energy caster, a Ferret may do so at a reduced difficulty. Boxing (s): while heavily armed and armored, Ferrets can competently defend themselves even without their special toys. They may divide their pre-card play action score between two unarmed melee attacks, the second of which occurs as a contingent action. Detective / Espionage (i): when they join the Iron Grenadiers, Ferrets are trained in numerous subversive techniques. They can use this skill to sabotage and/or spy upon nations targeted by Destro, acting to bolster the arms sales of his MARS corporation. Driving (a): specialized members of the already specialized Iron Grenadiers, Ferrets are taught how to effectively drive most ground vehicles. Whenever operating one, whether a motorcycle, a bus, or even their DEMONs, they resolve handling-related card play at a reduced difficulty. Guns (a): the better to demonstrate their use to prospective clients, Ferrets are continuously drilled in the use of all modern firearms. Whether standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic, a Ferret receives a reduction in the difficulty of actions related to discharging firearms. Military (w): Ferrets are highly disciplined, with most developing such via some military outfit or another, and Destro supplements this with his own training regimen. As a result, Ferrets invariably function well in a fighting unit, whether Destro's or any other. Vehicular Combat (a): those Iron Grenadiers with the right attitude and predilection for heavy machinery have the option to become Ferrets. They are painstakingly taught this skill, focusing on the operation of their DEMONs, and may resolve combat actions while driving at a reduced difficulty. Contacts: Elite members of Destro's Iron Grenadiers, his Ferrets can readily consider that organization a reliable contact. They undertake ludicrous risks while on the job, cheerfully accepting a high attrition rate, which makes them valuable to both him and his personal army. Calling: Greed, with secondary callings of Adventurer or Demolisher: like other Iron Grenadiers, Ferrets are mainly in it for the money. Those who achieve this rank do so because of their overwhelming need for excitement and/or destruction, however. Costume: Like all Iron Grenadiers, Ferrets wear an armored uniform! Theirs includes a black jacket, black gloves, khakis trousers, a red harness, red boots, a red sidearm holster, a golden belt, a golden chest plate, and a golden helmet with a red face plate and black mirrored visor. Notes: For career mercenaries, Ferrets are doggedly optimistic. That's why they've earned this rank, for that attitude - and a predilection for heavy machinery - is what the Iron Grenadiers look for in the drivers of their Dual Elevating Multi-Ordnance Neutralizers, or DEMONs. After all, the DEMON is built for speed and offensive power, not such conveniences as comfort, safety, or even the survivability of its operators. Thus, an attitude that accepts these constraints and still allows one to smile on the job is absolutely vital to become a Ferret. Hard chargers, the Ferrets drive their DEMONs as if they were their vehicles' namesake, not bothering with defense because slowing down enough to do is is often the end of their ride - if not themselves. No, Ferrets shoot until they've run out of ammo, and never, ever look back.
