the Desert Apache AH-74 The Apache AH-64 is a mainstay of the United States Army, and as such the GI Joe team has taken it upon itself to modify this powerful gunship for its own purposes. Hence the AH-74 Desert Apache, a slightly modified version of that vehicle, which functions as follows: C S B P Ex 20 Rm 30 Ex 20 Gd 10 AGM-114 Hellfire Missiles: in addition to its racks of Hydra 70s, the Desert Apache carries four AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-surface missiles, two on each wing (further out than the Hydra 70s). These anti-tank missiles add +1 CS damage for each doubling of simultaneous hits: C S B Damage Ex 20 Am 50 Ex 20 Rearkable (30) Edged Attack (fragmentary) Body Armor: the Desert Apache is built rather sturdy. It possesses a protective cockpit blast shield, along with other reinforced armor points across its body. These provide both the Body and Protection ratings listed for the Desert Apache, above. Chain Gun: the Desert Apache's main weapon is its 30mm, M230 Chain Gun. It holds a 1,200 round load, and can either fire off a (relatively) short burst of ammunition to inflict Excellent (20) Shooting damage, or be fired continuously to inflict Remarkable (30) Shooting damage. Communications Gear: the Desert Apache is equipped with a gigahertz frequency, frequency wobbler clandestine operations radio system. This makes for Excellent (20) communications power (with a 100 mile range) that features Remarkable (30) ranked signal encryption. Flight / Levitation: the Desert Apache can fly - and rather fast, too. It may vary its speed from 0 miles per hour (essentially hovering in place) to a maximum speed of 182 miles per hour, giving it both the Flight and Levitation 'powers', at Remarkable (30) rank. Hydra 70 FFARs: the Desert Apache carries eight Hydra 70 FFARs (Folding Fin Aerial Rockets), four on each short wing. These can be fired to inflict the damage listed below, adding +1 CS for each doubling of projectiles which strike a target simultaneously: C S B Damage Ex 20 Mn 75 Gd 10 Remarkable (30) Edged Attack (fragmentary) Radar Unit: mounted on the nose of the Desert Apache, this unit can give its operators an idea of the many threats in their surroundings. It can locate and track items within a 1 mile radius on land or in the air, with Remarkable (30) ability, assuming no ECM is in play.
