Firewall Melee: RV 10 Coordination: RV 10 Brawn: RV 4 Fortitude: RV 10 Intellect: RV 30 Awareness: RV 10 Willpower: RV 20 Health: 34 Fortune: 60 Lifestyle: RV 20 Repute: RV 0 Origin: As is the case with most members of the GI Joe team, Firewall lacks special powers of any variety. However, while she was physically unfit for the majority of her time with the Joes before World War III, Firewall nonetheless has access to fantastically advanced GI Joe equipment. Known Powers: (none) Limitations / Enhancements: (none) Equipment: Electronics: Firewall usually has a variety of advanced devices on her person at any given time, ranging from smart phones to mp3 players to miniature computers - even though her wrist communicator arguably has better processing power, storage space, and file encryption. Knife: all Joes are given a standard-issue blade for use in the field. It is manufactured from m.v. 40 materials, and can be used to either inflict Slashing damage in melee combat, or to cut through items of up to like m.v. (given a proper amount of time). Sidearms: while Firewall can use most conventional machine guns, she mostly sticks to the smaller stuff. Her hand cannons be used to discharge one round, inflicting rank value 6 Piercing damage, or a three-round burst, inflicting rank value 10 Piercing damage. Quirks: (none) Skills: Computers 2: her 'ticket' onto the GI Joe team, Firewall was a computer hacker beyond the pale before the government finally caught up with her. She can easily operate, program, repair, design, or even hack a computer program or system as if her Intellect was +2 RS in value. Guns: though she'd never even touched a firearm before agreeing to help the GI Joe team, Firewall was quickly taught how to shoot - by none other than Beach-Head. As a result, she can fire most standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifles or pistols at her Coordination +1 RS. Martial Arts style B: similarly, Firewall has been trained how to defend herself should she find herself unarmed while facing the enemy. She can thus punch, kick, charge, bite, elbow drop, or knee smash an opponent as if her Melee trait was +1 RS higher than is listed above. Military / United States: the source of all her combat training, Firewall was educated in the martial lifestyle by one of the best drill sergeants on earth: Beach-Head. As such, she has a reflexive, almost instinctual understanding of most Army policies and procedures. Contacts: Though it took her several years, Firewall finally grew up and became worthy of membership on the GI Joe team. As such, the Joes would readily help her out in most situations should she but ask. Firewall also has several additional contacts, mostly in computer hacking circles. Costume: Firewall never really bothered with an official uniform. The clothes she usually wore as a Joe included a gray leather jacket with red shoulder and elbow pads, worn over a T-shirt featuring patriotic graphics, as well as olive drab trousers, red knee pads, and black leather boots. Personality: Firewall enjoys making computers jump through her hoops, and relishes her opportunity to work with the GI Joe team, since it involves doing so legally. After her friend Daemon's death, she's grown a bit more mature, seeing her job with the Joes as a lot less of a game. Real Name: Michelle LaChance, grade unknown (if applicable) Occupation: computer hacker Legal Status: citizen of the United States with a considerable criminal record Marital Status: single Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: GI Joe Height: 5' 6" Hair: black Eyes: brown Weight: 130 lbs Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Firewall usually wears her hair up in pigtails. Story: Firewall grew up in Virginia Beach, where she developed a penchant for doing really rotten things to people with her fine-tuned computer hacking skills. One of her first crimes involved changing the grades of someone she didn't like to ruin her chance to become Valedictorian. After high school, she quickly adopted more serious criminal behavior, causing all kinds of havoc by tinkering with the credit card numbers and other personal information of elected officials. She managed to avoid capture until she broke into a protected US Army server. This server had details on a new weapon of Cobra's, so-called nano-mite machines which could actually attack a target on the molecular level! Of course, the Feds arrested her for her crime, and managed to get a lot of dirt on her other shenanigans upon inspecting her hardware. So they gave her a choice. With Cobra intent on deploying its nano-mite weapons imminently, they offered to let Firewall avoid jail time if she'd help the GI Joe team 'crack' the weapon before it could be used to overthrow the country. Reluctantly, Firewall agreed to these terms. Thanks to her assistance, among that of many others, the GI Joe team's lead computer expert, Mainframe, defused the nano-mite threat at the last minute. As such, Firewall was invited to stay with the Joes a while longer, since Mainframe always needed help with various projects. During this time, Firewall became good friends with Daemon, an immature social misfit who disguised his 'nerdiness' with a 'cool' haircut and a lot of trendy music on his iPod. Mind you, the two squabbled incessantly while they worked together, almost like spoiled siblings. Of course, to be a Joe, one has to pass the physical requirements, and to this end Beach-Head was called upon to train Firewall and Daemon up to at least a minimum fighting shape (should the two ever be forced to fight alongside the Joes for some reason). Daemon worked harder at this than Firewall did, but then Firewall had a new calling by this time. She was asked by Mainframe to help in the design and planning of the GI Joe team's new headquarters, a nigh-impregnable fortress in Wyoming that would come to be known as the Rock. Of course, Mainframe himself would not live to see the completion of this base, nor would Firewall's good friend, Daemon. Both were killed in the course of the second Cobra Island Civil War, which seriously darkened Firewall's disposition for a good long time. After going through an emo stage for a while, Firewall finally grew up and took responsibility for her past actions and her present position amongst the Joes. She then got serious about meeting the team's physical and skill requirements, in the event that she need to fight again. And she did. When General Rey (himself a clone of Serpentor) took command of the GI Joe team, he chose Firewall to be one of the twelve Joes that remained on the team, and she did so until the second incarnation of the Joes was retired after defeating the Red Shadows. Not that the Joes were really out of commission this time. No, the government rebranded GI Joe as a small covert ops group after the Red Shadows' defeat, sort of in the spirit of its original incarnation. Firewall was called upon to provide computer support for this team. She did so in the newly completed Rock facility, where she didn't see much direct combat, save for two instances. The first was when the Phoenix Guard, a group of undercover Cobra bigwigs led by General Rey invaded the Rock and almost took it over. The second was during World War III itself, when Cobra almost managed to take over the entire planet in one fell swoop. Thanks to the efforts of Firewall, and just about every other member of the GI Joe team that had ever served, this dreadful fate was averted. With Cobra Commander put on ice for a time, the Joes were able to rebuild their power base and resume their original, anti-terrorist directive - this time without bureaucratic interference. It seems the government finally learned that groups like Cobra were too dangerous to be taken lightly. As such, Firewall presumably remains a Joe to this very day, forever trying to live up to the legacy that Mainframe founded.
