Ruslan F A S E R I P Res Pop Gd 10 Gd 10 Ty 6 Gd 10 Ty 6 Gd 10 Ex 20 Gd 10 Sh 0 Health: 36 Karma: 36 Origin: As are the rest of his fellows in the Oktober Guard, Ruslan is naught but a normal human. He has no super-human capabilities, whether physical or mental. He hasn't even got access to high tech equipment - he simply wields conventional weapons against threats to his nation. Known Powers: (none) Limitations / Enhancements: (none) Equipment: AK-47: a mainstay of Soviet-bloc nations for decades, the tough and dependable AK-47 can discharge one round to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, Good (10) Shooting damage when firing a short burst, or Excellent (20) Shooting damage when fired continuously. Grenade: Ruslan always carries at least one of these devices with him in the field. It can be flung up to an area distant, and will explode to inflict Remarkable (30) Edged Attack (fragmentary) damage to every uncovered target within its detonation area. Knife: a must for any serious military man or woman, Ruslan carries a blade at all times. His knife is made from Remarkable (30) m.s. materials, and can be used to either cut through items of up to the same m.s., given enough time, or to inflict Edged Attack damage in melee. Makarov PM Pistol: in the event that his other weaponry is impractical or unavailable, Ruslan keeps this firearm in a handy holster. It can discharge one round to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, raised to Good (10) Shooting damage when firing a short burst of lead. Quirks: (none) Talents: Guns: naturally, Ruslan knows his way around most firearms, whether built by a Warsaw Pact nation or anyone else. When firing a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, Ruslan may do so as though his Agility score was +1 CS in rank. Language / Russian: unlike most members of the Oktober Guard, Ruslan does not appear to actually speak English in addition to his mother tongue. While he's perfectly competent in Russian, whether reading, writing, or speaking, Ruslan hasn't demonstrated other language skills yet. Martial Arts type B: though he's a competent marksman, Ruslan can easily defend himself without weapons - he can fight anywhere, any time. Whether punching, kicking, or even biting an opponent, he is allowed to do so at his Fighting rank +1 CS. Military / Russia: the source of all his marketable skills, Ruslan can thank the Russian Army for his various aptitudes. He can easily fight in almost any combat unit, and knows the ins and outs of the military command structure quite well. Contacts: Though he's the low man on the totem pole, Ruslan is nonetheless a member of the Oktober Guard, and can rely upon his fellows for assistance in most matters should he but ask. The Guard is an incredibly tightly-knit group, after all, and they take care of each other well. Costume: Ruslan's field uniform consists of a gray jacket with brown camouflage printed on atop a white T-shirt, similarly shaded trousers, black leather boots, brown leather belts, web gear, and holsters to secure his stuff, brown gloves, and a black cap to fend off the brisk Russian winter air. Personality: Ruslan is a quiet and cryptic fellow, possibly due to his being in awe of his superiors in the Oktober Guard. They're legends, each and every one of them, and that's quite a rep to match up to, no matter how capable you are. He'll probably shake that eventually, however. Real Name: unrevealed Occupation: soldier Legal Status: presumed citizen of Russia with no known criminal record Marital Status: single Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: the Oktober Guard Height: 5' 9" Hair: brown Eyes: brown Weight: 165 lbs Other Distinguishing Characteristics: none. Story: Little is known about the newest addition to the Oktober Guard, the man known as 'young' Ruslan by his compatriots. Of course, the trick is that the Guard is supposed to be defunct, so it's quite a revelation that they're not only still around, but still recruiting. It's possible that the Russian army decided that it could use a team like the Oktober Guard around, what with Cobra continually causing issues around the globe. This would explain why the group was on hand to counter Cobra's efforts in Russia during World War III. During this conflict, the Guard was seen opposing a wide variety of Cobra goons, each of whom wielded MARS weaponry that was far in advance of anything the Guard had ever seen before. Samples of this weaponry were, in fact, recovered by none other than Ruslan. He aided the Guard in its fight with several Cobras on the streets of Moscow, and managed to endear himself to Big Bear, the large, redheaded Guard who apparently already knew him somewhat beforehand - at least, that was how he acted, at any rate. With Cobra defeated, the likelihood of several new groups using its gear and methodology rearing their ugly heads was rather high - particularly since a large number of Cobra hierarchs managed to escape capture at the end of World War III. Thus, Ruslan is presumably working with the Oktober Guard to fight them, and any other threat to his homeland, to this very day!
