Dennis Foley was one such individual, a paranormal, who developed the power to manipulate the air around him thanks to this astronomical occurrence. Calling: Repentant: a veritable exemplar of this calling, Dennis Foley wants nothing more than to make right the many wrongs he has committed. While he may not wish to stay in Duncanville as the protector of the mob that almost lynched him, he nonetheless continues to do so. He tends to just wear conventional clothing while going about his business, and since he's not all that wealthy, his clothes are more utilitarian than fashionable. Personality: Trying to make amends for the stupid things he did as a young adult, Dennis is working hard to do right by those he has wronged. He's grown considerably while in prison, having had plenty of time to consider the consequences of his actions, and doesn't want to hurt anyone else. Drunk when they struck the local fixture, they were unprepared for resistance from Old Man Cryder, and when he drew his shotgun, Hank shot him. Even though he didn't pull the trigger, Dennis was an accomplice to the assortment of crimes taking place, and was imprisoned for them. Spending several years in the state penitentiary, Dennis had plenty of time to ponder the consequences of his actions on those around him. Before his release, however, Dennis changed more than just mentally. While serving his time, the White Event occurred, a bizarre astronomical phenomenon that bathed the world in an unknown, paradoxical energy, and some of this energy found itself grounded in Dennis. Eventually manifesting the power to manipulate the very air around himself, Dennis did his best to keep this new trick to himself. His power was nonetheless noticed, however, and word of his parability made its way into the highest echelons of the American government. Upon his release, Dennis made for home, Duncanville Texas, and on the bus he met none other than Justice. Currently working for the National Security Council, Justice knew all about Dennis, but asked him about himself and chatted him up the whole way home. Gaining his measure, Justice then toured Duncanville once the bus arrived, leaving Dennis to head home to his family. When he was rejected by his parents for his crime, and what the town might think of them for letting him stay with them, Justice appeared to Dennis again. Explaining who and what he was, he suggested a ruse to change the town's mind. Deciding to play along, Dennis first journeyed to the Cryder General Store, intent on apologizing to its remaining owner for his part in her husband's death. Naturally, this didn't end well. Seized by an angry mob and dragged towards a noose-laden tree, the imminent lynching was interrupted by a townsperson screaming about a paranormal battle in the capitol. Justice took this moment to appear before the crowd, and began to spout off like a comic book villain. Urging Dennis to join him in taking over the world, starting with this backwater town, Dennis used his powers to fling Justice far, far away. The locals, intent on hanging him mere moments ago, drastically changed their mind about Dennis and how welcome he was in town. Thinking they'd like a paranormal like him to keep tabs on things, in case other paranormals showed up to cause trouble like Justice pretended to, much less those who trashed Washington, DC, they begged him to stay - even if Dennis now had mixed feelings about doing so. Later, Dennis found Justice and thanked the man for his help. Justice simply said that Dennis had paid his debt to society, and should be allowed a second chance.
