Serpentor's Air Chariot

To provide his creation a suitably regal conveyance with which to command the field of battle, Doctor Mindbender built Serpentor the Air Chariot. This small aircraft is an ostentatious gold in color, and the front is built to resemble a Cobra - the group he was built to rule.

A one-man ride, the Air Chariot is held aloft by hover props, and propelled through the sky by twin Cobra Turbojet engines. Serpentor's Air Chariot can support his weight while fully armored, though not much more, and is equipped with the following features and capabilities:

Coblar Battle Shield: this futuristic, stylized shield is formed to look like the hood of a Cobra. It provides the operator of the Air Chariot (almost invariably Serpentor) rank value 20 Protection against attacks coming from the front. The Chariot's normal Protection otherwise applies.

Communications Array: while Serpentor could simply shout orders at everyone from above, his Air Chariot is equipped with an advanced radio transceiver, the better to relay orders and receive intelligence. It works with rank value 10 ability, having a maximum range of 50 miles.

Flight: with lift achieved via counter-rotating hover props mounted beneath the Air Chariot's pilot, and forward thrust provided by two Emp-Twin Turbojet Engines, Serpentor's sweet ride can manage to fly with rank value 10 airspeed, or at 109.09 miles per hour.

Radome: nestled within the Cobra-shaped head of the Air Chariot, this unit allows the vehicle's pilot to track targets sharing its airspace. It provides rank value 20 radar capabilities, allowing it to keep tabs on other aircraft within 100 miles, obstructions notwithstanding.

Strike Attack Guns: these front-facing 7.62 mm cannons can fire a single round to inflict rank value 6 Piercing damage, several of such to inflict rank value 10 Piercing damage, or fire continuously to inflict rank value 20 Piercing damage. Firing both boosts this by +1 RS.

2008 Variations

For the most part, Serpentor's 2008 model of Air Chariot has the same capabilities as the original. However, the head of the Cobra on front of his Coblar forward shield can now open and close its mouth. Whether or not this is of practical use is up for debate, though.
