the Tomahawk

The Tomahawk is an all-weather rescue helicopter which can perform its function on land or at sea, and can also double as a transport / assault craft. Powerful and versatile, the Tomahawk is equipped with these vehicular capabilities:

Handling
RV 30
Velocity
RV 20 *
Durability
RV 30
Protection
RV 10

* if unloaded and minimally armed, add +1 RS to the Tomahawk's Velocity.

.50 cal Cannons: the Tomahawk has two side-mounted .50 cal cannons in its staging area. They can be used to fire a short burst to inflict rank value 20 Piercing damage, or fired fully automatic to inflict rank value 30 Piercing damage, and have a laser scope for a +1 RS to hit.

Anti-obstacle Missiles: the secondary armaments on the Tomahawk are two short-range air-to-air and/or air to ground, radio-controlled, visually sighted anti-obstacle missiles, each of which feature the following vehicular characteristics:

Handling
RV 20
Velocity
RV 75
Durability
RV 20
Damage
RV 30 Slashing (fragmentary)

Body Armor: the Tomahawk is fitted with multiple layers of armor plating, providing both its Durability and its Protection traits. The Tomahawk's rotor blades have been treated with special resins and manufacturing processes to mirror its Durability rating in overall m.v.

Cargo / Personnel Bay: the Tomahawk helicopter can comfortably seat eight (pilot, co-pilot, and up to six other individuals), though more can easily be crammed in should the need arise. Also, the six seats in the staging area can be removed to allow for cargo transport.

In addition to the side-door openings, the Tomahawk has a collapsible rear-door entryway, in case a small vehicle is being transported within the Tomahawk, or to make use of stretchers and whatnot, in the event that casualties are delivered with this transport.

Communications Array: the Tomahawk is equipped with a gigahertz frequency, frequency wobbler clandestine operations radio system, allowing for constant team communications. This makes for rank value 30 comm power (with a 250 mile range) that has like signal encryption.

Dumb Bombs: the Tomahawk's tertiary armaments are six 250 lb, vertically dropped dumb bombs. These have no Handling or Velocity rating, being simply dropped on an unsuspecting sap from above, have a material value of 10, and inflict rank value 30 Slashing (fragmentary) damage.

Stealth: the Tomahawk has been fitted with special noise and infra-red dampeners, lowering both the noise and the heat that the vehicle puts out. This effectively acts as rank value 2 Stealth, allowing the Tomahawk to sneak past less observant sentries.

Winch: the Tomahawk has a bottom-mounted winch with which to carry up to 2.5 tons (5,000 lbs) of cargo in an emergency, or to carry any cargo that will otherwise not fit within the vehicle proper. The vehicle thus has an effective Brawn value of 40.

XM-197 Cannon: the main armament on the Tomahawk is a six-barreled, 20mm cannon, which can be used in combat to inflict rank value 30 AP Piercing damage per automatic burst - enough to pierce even the most heavily armored vehicles (or persons).

2015 Variations

the Eaglehawk

Almost thirty years after they were initially issued to the GI Joe team, a few of its remaining Tomahawk helicopters were appropriated by the Tiger Force. Though sporting a bright new paint job and modernized electronic systems, the Eaglehawk is functionally the same as before.
