Origin:
Like the vast majority of his fellows on the GI Joe team, Armadillo is naught but a normal human, lacking special powers of any stripe. He's a demon behind the wheel, however, and operates rather advanced military hardware in the never-ending war against terrorism.
Known Powers:
(none)
Limitations / Enhancements:
(none)
Equipment:
Helmet: the way he drives, Armadillo would be a fool not to wear a helmet at all times. Armadillo's headgear provides him Good (10) protection against physical attacks which strike him in the cranium, but not anywhere else in the head.
Rolling Thunder: Armadillo's pride and joy, this heavily armed and armored 8WD engine of destruction is one of the GI Joe team's most devastating weapons. Virtually a mobile arsenal, the Rolling Thunder is described more fully in its own vehicular entry.
Sidearm: a handy weapon to have in the event that he's caught outside his Rolling Thunder, Armadillo carries this at all times on the job. This hand cannon can fire a single shot to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, or a semi-automatic burst to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage.
Quirks:
(none)
Talents:
Guns: though he prefers to use the guns in his Rolling Thunder, Armadillo can wield them 'all alone' as well if necessary. Whether he's handling a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, Armadillo may do so as though his Agility was +1 CS higher in rank.
Marksman: in addition to his standard training with firearms, Armadillo has been educated in the art of heavier caliber weaponry. He may operate any weapon with a 'line-of-sight' rating (mortars, rockets, etc.) as if his Agility was +1 CS higher than is listed above.
Martial Arts type B: an ability that everyone learns in their basic training, Armadillo can easily defend himself should he find himself without weapons. He may attempt any unarmed melee attack (punch, kick, etc.) as though his Fighting was +1 CS higher than is listed above.
Military / United States: serving as an origin of sorts for Armadillo, this skill is the source of almost all his other talents. It describes how he knows the SOP like the back of his hand, and how he can effortlessly function in a military environment.
Vehicular Combat: while Armadillo was a pretty good (if dangerous) driver before enlisting, the Army has made him a truly spectacular vehicular combatant. When engaged in battle while behind the wheel, Armadillo may add a +1 CS to any related combat actions.
Contacts:
Armadillo is a member of the GI Joe team held in high esteem. While the Joes may not enjoy riding anywhere with him, they know he'll do his best to get them there in one piece. Armadillo also has numerous additional contacts in driving circles, both military and civilian.
Costume:
Armadillo's GI Joe field uniform is a curious one. It consists of a yellow tank top, red denim trousers under similarly colored leather chaps, green leather boots, beige wrist guards, a red belt with a silver belt buckle, and his green helmet with flaps on the side to keep his ears warm.
Personality:
Armadillo takes his job very seriously. When you put him behind the wheel he loses his sense of humor and is consumed with one thing: getting where he needs to go. While he's a reliable driver, and his passengers almost never suffer casualties, they're often shaken by the ride!

Story:
Born at Fort Huachuca, one could say that Armadillo was almost fated to have a military career. He didn't begin in the Army however; no, Armadillo got his start hauling huge loads over the road. He always made great time driving a big rig, but then he always drove very fast.
It wasn't that Armadillo was a reckless driver; he went insanely fast, but the man knew exactly what he was doing. After a litany of complaints by other people on the road, Armadillo decided that maybe he needed a change of venue, and enlisted to become a military driver.
His same, bull-headed driving techniques got him behind the wheels of a multitude of armored vehicles, and he demonstrated a proven track record of getting his ride where it needed to be as fast as possible - without causing any undue injuries all the while.
His performance record got him an opportunity to join the elite GI Joe team, where he would be placed in charge of often experimental armored vehicles. Thinking this a worthwhile opportunity, Armadillo went for it and made his way through the team's grueling entrance exam.
Surviving this through sheer tenacity, Armadillo was placed on the team. Considering his unique skills and disposition, Armadillo was placed in charge of the team's (at the time) largest ground assault vehicle: the Rolling Thunder - a rolling implement of mass destruction!
Incredibly heavily armed and armored, the Rolling Thunder allows Armadillo the ultimate outlet for his driving tendencies, as nobody's about to complain about the way he muscles through ranks of Cobra goons - except maybe the terrorists with tire treads on their helmets.
Armadillo has done well by the GI Joe, smashing his way through one mission after another until it was deactivated for a time in '94. Armadillo continued to serve in the military during the team's 'off time', and even for a while after it was recommissioned.
(Historical Divergence)
Of course, when the team has need of him and his particular skills, ol' Armadillo is more than happy to suit up and hop in a heavy ride for his old pals. Where else can he engage in the brutal driving that has both his allies and enemies quaking in fear?
