Origin:
As are most members of the GI Joe team, whether they're in the elite Tiger Force or not, Skystriker is naught but a normal human. He lacks special powers or training not already available to the modern Air Force, though he does wield a lot of high tech gear.
Known Powers:
(none)
Limitations / Enhancements:
(none)
Equipment:
Helmet: while on the job, Skystriker wears a helmet at all times. It provides him Good (10) protection from physical attacks, as well as Good (10) Screened Senses / Vision, and has a radio headset that has no inherent range itself, but plugs into his Tiger Rat.
Knife: in the event that he has to eject, Skystriker carries a blade to cut through parachute straps and the like. It is of Incredible (40) m.s., and can either be used to cut through items of up to like m.s., with enough time, or to inflict Edged Attack damage in melee.
Sidearm: hopefully, Skystriker will never have to use this weapon - the idea is he'll be shooting people from his Tiger Rat. He can either fire a single shot from this hand cannon to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, or a semi-automatic burst to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage.
Tiger Rat: Skystriker's sweet ride, the Tiger Rat is a captured and modified version of the Cobra's venerable Rattler aircraft. He can utilize this devastating ground attack jet, which is described more fully in its vehicular entry, to lethal effect.
Quirks:
(none)
Talents:
Aerial Combat: in addition to being able to fly an aircraft effectively, Skystriker can fight with one as well. Whenever he's behind the stick of an aircraft, Skystriker may attempt any relevant combat FEAT rolls at a +1 CS to the applicable rank.
Guns: a portion of his standard Air Force training, Skystriker uses this skill both alone and while flying his Tiger Rat. He can fire any standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol as though his Agility was +1 CS higher than listed above.
Martial Arts type B: essential military training, Skystriker has learned how to defend himself should he find himself without weaponry. When attempting any unarmed melee strike (punches, kicks, etc.), Skystriker may do so at his Fighting score +1 CS.
Military / United States: Skystriker was born and raised on a Maryland Air Force base, and knew where he wanted to work as soon as he could walk. He has a natural understanding of military policies and procedures, and can function within a military unit effortlessly.
Piloting: his claim to fame, Skystriker is a top-notch pilot. He can operate just about anything that flies, from fixed-wing aircraft to swing-wing fighters to helicopters. When flying any aircraft, Skystriker may attempt Control FEAT rolls at a +1 CS.
Contacts:
As a member of the elite GI Joe team, Skystriker may naturally rely upon his fellows for assistance should they only ask - the Joes are a tight-knit group, after all. Skystriker also has several additional military contacts, from years spent at his father's Air Force base.
Costume:
While active with the Tiger Force, Skystriker wears a conspicuous outfit. It consists of an orange flight jacket with black tiger stripes over a red turtle neck sweater, black trousers, brown leather boots, gloves, belts, and holsters, and a brown helmet with a clear visor.
Personality:
Skystriker loves the Air Force. He has been eating, drinking and breathing the Air Force since he was born, and it's literally in his blood. He's always wanted to fly, and enjoys doing so in the service of his country - the exciting dogfights are just a job perk, you see.
Real Name: Alexander P. Russo, Grade O-5

Alias(es), if any: none
Group Affiliation: GI Joe, Tiger Force (GI Joe sub-unit)

Story:
Anyone who doubted that Skystriker would grow up to fly planes for the Air Force simply didn't know the man too well. He grew up on an Air Force base in Maryland that his father ran, and was surrounded by fighter jets his entire life. He's loved them since he could crawl.
Naturally, he joined the Air Force and went through Officer's Flight Training School to get his hands on a jet he could call his own (after a fashion). Shortly after he got his 'wings', he had the opportunity to demonstrate just how good a fighter pilot he was.
Assisting the GI Joe team in combat raids against Cobra Island (whenever that elite force could sneak in an operation against the then-sovereign nation), Skystriker was eventually brought onto the team himself. Though he'd proven his mettle in an X-30, he had something else to fly.
Since he was assigned to the elite Tiger Force unit, Skystriker was given a Tiger Rat instead, which he enjoys immensely. The Tiger Rat is a modified, captured Cobra Rattler - itself a modified version of the A-10 Thunderbolt, which Skystriker knows all too well.
Skystriker has used his Tiger Rat to serve the Joes - and his country - in style, blowing up all kinds of terrorists and their aircraft while on missions. Though he was 'released' from the team in '94 along with everyone else, he returns whenever he is needed.
(Historical Divergence)
Participating in some of the team's major offenses against Cobra over the last few years, Skystriker has stayed with GI Joe upon the team's full reinstatement in the wake of World War III, and he's helping them to hunt down stragglers from Cobra who as of yet evade justice!
2015 Variations
Equipment:
Rifle: when not flying his Tiger Hawk, Skystriker can discharge a single round from this large weapon to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, a short burst of rounds to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage, or fire it continuously to inflict Excellent (20) Shooting damage.
the Tiger Hawk: while he normally operates fighter jets, Skystriker is always ready to perform any piloting job, including troop transport. That's why the team put him in charge of their upgraded Tomahawk helicopters, the Tiger Hawks, which are described in their own entry.
Costume:
Skystriker's second Tiger Force ensemble is a variation on his first. It consists of an orange flight jacket with black tiger stripes over a red turtle neck sweater, cornflower blue trousers, brown leather boots, gloves, belts, and holsters, and a brown helmet with a mirrored visor.
