The Military Utility Vehicle (MUV)
The GI Joe team is always putting new off-road fighting vehicles into action, it seems. It's possible that some of these don't last very long because they're constantly being destroyed in action. Or perhaps the Joes just seek a 'perfect' off road fighting vehicle?
The MUV is the latest in a long string of such vehicles. The MUV, which stands for Military Utility Vehicle, is a desert camouflaged, super-charged Jeep ™ - with a top-mounted machine gun and a bumper perfect for ramming. The MUV possesses these characteristics:
Body Armor (s): the MUV is built tough. It has an armored radiator, a stiffened roll bar, and modular 'monster truck' wheels (complete with self-sealing foam), a total package that provides the vehicle an m.s. of 11, which in turn grants its occupants like, or +2, body armor.
Communications Array (i): the MUV is equipped with a gigahertz frequency, frequency wobbler clandestine operations radio system., This makes for intensity 5 communications power (with a 25 mile range), that features intensity 10 signal encryption.
Halogen Lamps (i): the MUV has two different quartz-halogen headlights, as well as a secondary lamp that can be aimed at somewhere besides the space in front of the vehicle. They all produce intensity 10 illumination, which can fill the area or (if used with surprise) blind foes.
Machine Guns (a): the MUV is one of the (very) rare GI Joe vehicles that lacks a missile launcher. Its top-mounted cannon can discharge a short burst of ammunition to inflict one's Agility +6 in damage, or fire lead continuously to inflict their Agility +7 damage.
Passengers: though it's not huge, the MUV has room for many Joes. It can hold two in its armored insides, one Joe on each side via the running boards, several Joes in the rear cargo space (one chair, room for more), and at least one hanging onto the rear bumper in a pinch.
Propulsion (a): when its operator wants to, the MUV has the ability to move. It can achieve intensity 3 speeds on paved surfaces (90 miles per hour), while being able to move at intensity 2 speed (around 60 miles per hour) on almost any other terrain.
Rollbar (s): supplementing the protection of the MUV's occupants, its rollbar also provides them extra defense against crashing damage. In the event of a crash (likely) or roll, the MUV's occupants benefit from body armor that has an intensity of 15, or +3, instead of the above.
