As are most members of the GI Joe team, Ice Storm only seems like a super-hero, as he has no special powers to speak of. He does possess considerable training in cold weather environs, however, along with a plethora of advanced equipment he uses in the fight against evil!

Cold Weather Gear: Ice Storm is equipped to function indefinitely in sub-zero weather. Ice Storm's uniform provides him Remarkable (30) protection against the cold, he has snow shoes to more easily navigate snow, and carries rope to easily lift trapped individuals to safety.

First-Aid Kit: his stock in trade, Ice Storm always carries a first aid kit on missions. It includes of various medicines, antibiotics, drugs, sterilized medical tools, and even a small oxygen tank. Sometimes, Ice Storm even carries an antitode for Cobra's Compound Z!

Knife: Ice Storm always carries a blade on his person, because sometimes hacking through something is a life or death proposition. He may wield these Incredible (40) m.s. implements to either cut through items of up to like m.s., or to inflict Edged Attack damage in melee.

Sidearm: a backup for his SMG, Ice Storm often carry one or more of these weapons on his person. He may use it/them to either inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage when discharging a single round, or Good (10) Shooting damage when engaging in a burst of semi-automatic gunfire.

Submachine Gun: his primary armament, Ice Storm can disharge one round from this weapon to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, a short burst of ammunition to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage, or engage in continuous fire to inflict Excellent (20) Shooting damage.

Talents:

Artist: while he's just an amateur, Ice Storm makes regular additions to his sketch book, imagining his fellow Joes as action figures. He should receive ten Karma for each week he spends on a particular piece of art, should he attempt to craft a more permanent work.

Boating: a member of the Coast Guard before joining the Navy, Ice Storm knows his way around most modern sea vessels. As such, he may perform various duties on ships and submarines with ease, and benefits from a +1 CS on FEATs called for while attempting to do so.

First Aid: working as a cold weather rescue operative, Ice Storm knows how to patch up failing human beings. He can immediately halt the loss of Endurance ranks in a dying individual, adding one lost rank back, and can revive those who have fallen within the last five turns.

Guns: as are all other modern military recruits, Ice Storm received training in the use of most conventional firearms. Whether wielding standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifles or pistols, Ice Storm does so as though his Agility score was +1 CS higher than is listed above.

Martial Arts type B: trained in the fine art of self-defense, Ice Storm can fight evil bare-handed when necessary! He may attempt any unarmed melee assault, whether punching, kicking, head butting, or anything else, as if his Fighting score was +1 CS in rank.

Military / United States: the source of his various combat skills, Ice Storm can consider this talent an origin of sorts. It allows him a reflexive understanding of the SOP, and he can readily serve in a unit of fighting men and women when called upon to do so.

Survival: Ice Storm has always enjoyed the cold. Since he was a child, he has worked hard to thrive in extremely cool temperatures, a knack the military has expanded to most environs. He can readily procure enough food, water, and shelter to persist in most hostile conditions.

Contacts:

A highly experienced military man even before he joined the GI Joe team, Ice Storm can easily consider that group a reliable contact, as the Joes always help each other out. Ice Storm has also cultivated countless additional military contacts during his time as an enlisted man.

Costume:

Ice Storm's field uniform consists of a red and black winter jacket worn over a dark blue turtleneck sweater, dark blue cold weather trousers, black leather boots and gloves, a dark blue leather belt, dark green leather holsters and sheathes, a dark blue cap, and mirrored yellow goggles.

Personality:

Nolan has always loved snow and cold, and has taken every opportunity to thrive in such conditions. Keeping it cool both figuratively and literally, Nolan has worked his entire adult life near the Arctic circle, and only seems to feel at home with an icy wind howling at his back.

Story:

The young man who grew up to become Ice Storm has always enjoyed the cold. Born in Elyria, Ohio, Ice Storm always ranged far and wide come winter, and is noteworthy for having saved another child who fell into the ice on Lake Erie when he was but ten years old!

Though he had earned a complete ride scholarship to study industrial design, Ice Storm fled the States upon coming of age, and drifted across the frozen wastes of Canada for a time, hitchhiking through the Arctic before finally settling in at a snow crab fishery in Alaska.

Eventually enlisting in the Coast Guard, Ice Storm was stationed at the Ellesmere Research Station in Qikiqtaaluk, Greenland. In time, he transferred over to the Navy, where he worked as a Naval VBSS (Visit, Board, Search and Seizure) operative.

When this became too routine for his liking, Ice Storm applied for membership in the top-secret GI Joe team, and was readily accepted. Once he proved he could survive the team's grueling entrance exam, he quickly saw himself in the field along with several other cold-minded Joes.

Though his work mainly consists of search and rescue, Ice Storm sees his fair share of combat, and has done so ever since his time in the Coast Guard. He continues his work with the GI Joe team to this very day, fighting the good fight against Cobra and other costumed villains!
