Origin:

Klane states that he is a fallen Justice Warrior serving the Winterlands. Since John Tensen was the only real Justice, however, it is unclear whether Klane was another person warped by Daedalus Darquill's delusion, or created outright by the madman from psychoplasm.

Powers:

Natural Psionics (Psikinetic Powers):

Disintegration (a) (a): like other Justice Warriors, Klane has the ability to project a beam of heat so powerful, it acts like unto a disintegration beam. This inherently lethal, intensity 17 intensity discharge inflicts like metabolic damage on its targets.

Force Field (t) (i): like all Justice Warriors, Klane can erect squares of force between himself and virtually any threat. These psionic planes of force provide Klane intensity 16 protection from injury from conventional and karmic assaults.

Natural Psionics (Metapsionic Powers):

Philosophical Sense (s) (w): as do other Justice Warriors, Klane has the power of aura sight, and can see whether the souls of those he observes are possessed of a good, evil, orderly, chaotic, or balanced mindset, doing so with intensity 15 prowess.

Natural Psionics (Psimantic Powers):

Energy Generation (a) (a): one of the foul powers granted him by Darquill, Klane can generate a glob of darkness he calls the Night Caul. When wrapped around the head of its victim, it can inflict intensity 15 magical damage while it feeds upon and relives their misery.

Hindrances / Augmentations:

Abnormal Attribute: on top of the fact that he is unreasonably tall, and possesses clownlike orange hair, Klane has a strange, shadowy domino mask on his face at all times. This may be a product of his empowerment by the wicked wizards of the Winterlands.

Equipment:

(none)

Skills:

Boxing (s): Klane is incredibly strong, and has the ability to use that strength with precision and care. He may divide his pre-card play action score between two unarmed melee attacks, the second of which he may attempt as a contingent action.

Contacts:

A powerful ally of the wizards of the WInterlands, who have given him some of the power he so desperately craves, Klane can presumably consider them a reliable contact. He is their Black Justice, after all, wielding power easily comparable to that of John Tensen.

Calling:

World Domination: obsessed with personal power, Klane betrayed his fellow Justice Warriors to seek out more of it. While indulging in vulgar displays of power is part of what fascinates Klane about it, he mostly desires power to lord it over others, showcasing his dominance.

Costume:

Klane wears a distinctive uniform at all times, even when he isn't active in the field. It consists of a high-collared purple leather vest, gray spaulders, purple wrist bands, blue trousers, a blue belt with a blue pouch on it, and oversized, purple buccaneer boots.

Personality:

Klane bears a naked lust for power bordering on the pathological. He aches to wield power over others, and everything he does is an effort to further his acquisition of it. There is no depth Klane won't sink to in his pursuit of greater might, whether physical or political.

Real Name: Klane

Story:

Unlike many of Daedalus Darquill's major thralls, it is difficult to determine whether or not Klane was a real being. He claims to be a fallen Justice Warrior, but the only real person who bore that title was John Tensen, the one and only Justice, so this is suspect.

It's possible that Klane was originally another person pulled into the delusional mindscape fueled by Daedalus Darquill's powerful psionic abilities. Whether or not he had paranormal powers to begin with, Darquill could have shaped Klane until he had powers that resemble Tensen's.

Alternately, if he more closely resembles the rest of beings populating Darquill's mindscape, Klane may very well be a creation of Darquill's, one informed by his mental illness. That would make Klane an imaginary person, comprised of imaginary matter, existing at Darquill's discretion.

Either way, Klane believed himself to be a fallen justice, having abandoned his duties to seek greater power in the Winterlands. He found it there, his physical power greatly augmented in the process of doing so, and Klane ultimately acquired the power of the Night Caul.

Known by reputation throughout the Far Side, Klane instilled fear within all who saw him. And the last person to lay eyes on Klane was Justice, after that hero was drawn into the American southwest by Damon Conquest. Once isolated in the desert, Klane appeared to face him.

Announcing that he was the Black Justice, Klane taunted Justice for a time, and then the two began to throw down. Jusitce fell victim to Klane's Night Caul, however, and was stunned as the sorcerous darkness that comprised the Caul attacked and fed upon his very misery.

While Justice recovered from this, he managed to do so because Klane taunted him about the fate of his love, Rebecca. While Justice thought she was dead, she had in fact been corrupted by Conquest and Darquill, and lived on as a servant of the Winterlands wizards.

Growing increasingly furious as Klane twisted that knife in Justice's soul, the Black Justice pushed the hero until he lashed out in anger. Recklessly accessing both his sword and his shield simultaneously, Justice struck Klane down, literally tearing his oversized body apart!

Of course, this was precisely what Conquest wanted. Feeding on corruption itself, Conquest had been slowly wearing away at Justice's aura ever since he first reappeared on earth, and tricking him into striking Klane down in anger was the lynchpin of his master plan.

Using the corruptive power generated by Klane's execution, Conquest was able to fuel the Winterlands' final push against their mortal enemies in the land of Spring. Not that this was much comfort to Klane, what with him having died in pieces on the desert floor, unlamented.
