Origin:
Dave Dean is naught but a normal human, in a physical sense. He lacks ascendant abilities based on genetic mutations, bizarre feats of science, or strange tutelage in the sorcerous or psionic arts. He simply wanders the earth on his adventures, armed only with conventional gear.

Pistol (a): while he would rather not mow some poor slob down, Dave knows that some thugs only respond to a warning shot - or a round to the side when all else fails. This weapon to inflicts his Agility +4 damage in a single shot, +5 in a clip-burning, semi-auto burst.
Ship (i): Dave scours the seas in his trusty ship, seeking lost bounties and booty! In addition to letting him get almost anywhere in the world, he can use the diving equipment on this ship to inspect the sea floor for loot. This vehicle can move at intensity 1 speed.
Skills:
Boating (a): in addition to his ability to engage in two-fisted mayhem on the high seas, Dave is also well-versed in the fine art of seamanship. He receives a reduction to the difficulty of actions made when piloting a sea vessel, spotting land, building a raft, or avoiding rapids.
Boxing (s): one can't be an adventurer at sea without the ability to fight off would-be pirates and such for the loot he craves. When engaged in unarmed melee combat, Dave may divide his pre-card play action score between two attacks, the last of which occurs as a contingent action.
Contacts:
As an ocean-going adventurer, Dave has numerous contacts in ports around the world, though the nature of these friendships have yet to be revealed. He can however usually rely upon his first mate, Shorty, to help him whilst he's engaged in some moneymaking scheme or another.

Explorer:, with a secondary calling of Greed: Dave Dean is constantly on the lookout for new and interesting shipwrecks, and though he enjoys exploring their ruined hulls, he doesn't do so out of academic interest; no, Dave is in it for the money for the most part.
Costume:
Dave likes to dress casually when he's looting sunken ships or otherwise looking for a payoff on the ocean waves. He typically wears a black turtleneck sweater, along with baggy brown trousers, a black leather belt, a brown holster for his pistol, and black leather shoes.
Personality:
Dave Dean appears to be a no-nonsense seaman who has at least some scruples. He has a sense of honor, and while he loots the corpses of dead ships both above and below the waves, he isn't about to go stealing and killing others for the riches he so deeply craves.

Story:
Dave Dean, the so-called Deep Sea Demon, is a tough, no-nonsense adventurer who makes his living on the high seas. He moves from place to place around the globe in his steamer, always on the lookout for sunken treasure or other buried loot - though not without trouble.
As it turns out, his Chinese counterpart Wing Po tends to either follow him around or beat him to the punch on one haul after another, and the two are bitter enemies. Were Dean a less honorable man he'd have likely gunned his dangerous, unscrupulous nemesis down long ago.
But he is, which is why upon the discovery of a sunken ship reportedly full of loot, Dave naturally encountered Wing Po before his dive. Luckily for Dave, Wing Po had no diving equipment like his own, and thus he had a leg up on his ersatz competition and made for the sea floor.
When his air hose was cut, Dave had to surface in a hurry, though he contracted a case of the Bends as a result. Recovering quickly, thanks to a timely rescue by a yachtsman nearby, Dave went to confront Wing Po only to discover one of his own, unequipped divers had been killed.
Thinking something fishy was going on, Dave went back to the sea floor with Trouble on his mind, only to find a mysterious 'ghost' haunting the waters was a man in a custom diving suit. Trouncing him, Dave found he was the brother of the recently deceased man who's ship had sunk!
Having downed the vessel in a scheme to seize his brother's money, he didn't want Dave or Wing Po to figure out the nature of his crime - much less horn in on his booty! With that mystery solved, Dave seized everything he could load onto his ship and made for calmer waters.
His further exploits have yet to be revealed.
