Origin:

Jim 'Taxi' Taylor is a perfectly normal human, at least in a physical sense. Mentally, though, he's something of an inventive genius, and seems capable of building things years ahead of their time. Things such as his Wonder Car, not to mention his robotic assistant, Transisto-mech.

Known Powers:

(none)

Limitations / Enhancements:

(none)

Equipment:

The Wonder Car: a marvel of technology in the 1940s, and even for the present, the Wonder Car is possessed of abilities that more than make up for its inexplicable, somewhat amorphous appearance. It can do just about anything that Taxi Taylor needs, and has these abilities:

Handling
RV 4
Velocity
RV 30
Durability
RV 40
Protection
RV 30

* Ultimate Power: the Wonder Car is equipped with the ability to account for 'any' human need, and has this power at rank value 10. The Car can transmit radio waves, fly, change its shape, dive underwater, and can make all sorts of nifty, last-minute weapons it needs in a pinch.

Quirks:

Stubbornness 2: Jim Taylor just don't know when to quit. He's about one of the most stubborn guys you'll ever meet, and it's nigh impossible for him to back down once he's made his mind up about something. In order to do so, Jim must first pass a Willpower ACT roll at -4 RS.

Skills:

Driving: his original claim to fame, Taxi Taylor was originally a cabbie - in Washington DC, at that. Able to maneuver any ground vehicle like an extension of his very body, Taxi may add a +1 RS to any Coordination or Handling ACT called for behind the wheel.

Guns: one of many skills he picked up after enlisting (either voluntarily or otherwise) in the Army, Taxi Taylor has the ability to wield a firearm with competence. Whether standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic in nature, Taxi can handle it at his Coordination trait +1 RS.

Martial Arts style B: always capable enough in a scrap, Jim has only seen his melee prowess bolstered by a jaunty jolt of combat training. As a result of this effort, Jim may attempt any unarmed attack, no matter what form it may take, at his Melee trait +1 RS.

Military / United States: while he initially intended to simply upgrade the Army's equipment, Jim was ultimately inducted into the service as one of its super-human operatives. As such, he's grudgingly learned the SOP like the back of his hand.

Piloting: though he was nothing more than a rank amateur at first, Jim has learned how to properly fly any number of different, fixed-wing aircraft over the years. He may attempt Coordination or Handling ACTs when piloting an aircraft at a +1 RS.

Repair / Tinkering 3: Jim has an uncanny knack with all things mechanical, having built the Wonder Car and T-Mech by heavily modifying extant, 1940s technology. His Intellect trait should be considered +3 RS for the purposes of either repairing or modifying devices.

Contacts:

Jim 'Taxi' Taylor initially had no known contacts. After he single-handedly warded off a stealthy Nazi assault on New York City, however, Jim was taken more seriously by the military, who assigned him a group of allies in the form of the Crazy Sues.

Costume:

Jim 'Taxi' Taylor doesn't wear any sort of Spandex ™ uniform to speak of when he's fighting evil. No, he just wears ordinary 'street' clothes while at work - whether his job has him pulling fares in DC or fighting fascists alongside the Crazy Sues.

Personality:

Taxi Taylor is a real go-getter, a man refusing to quit at all costs. Having proven his technical acumen at great personal risk to his person, Jim has begun to put his work to practical use in the fight against evil, whether it takes the form of an individual or an entire government!

Story:

His greatest creation: the Wonder Car.

Jim 'Taxi' Taylor had just completed it, and was going to give it to the Army for use in the War. He took it directly to the Defense Department, and explained what it could do, but the fools laughed Jim right out of the building. Not giving up, he decided to use it against evil himself!

Until he could afford to do so, however, Jim continued on as a cabbie in Washington DC, so he could gain the proper amount of capital in the capitol. However, that was not to be, for while Jim was on the job one fateful afternoon, a fare proved to be a pair of Nazi spies!

Listening in on their conversation with microphones, Jim uncovered a dastardly sabotage plot. Dropping the spies off at their home soon after, he erected a radio antenna from the Wonder Car, and eavesdropped on the spies' transmissions to learn more about their plot.

Finding out that a German ship was in the New York Harbor, Jim discovered that it was laying mines to destroy two nearby American destroyers! Springing into action, Jim transformed the Wonder Car into an airplane, and flew it all the way up to New York City.

Spotting the hidden German ship right off, Jim dived underwater to disarm the 'magnetic mines' that it was laying around the destroyers. Dismayed by this, the Germans dropped depth charges on the Wonder Car, though they only slowed it down - they couldn't stop it.

Popping out to hammer the dents in the 6" steel frame (underwater, no less), Jim was attacked by a German diver, sent to ensure his demise. Jim easily dispatched this villain, slicing his air hose, and watched him die a horrible death - laughing all the while!

Afterwards, he used his Wonder Car's 'weapon of death'. Releasing a mass of steaming bubbles, Jim created a vacuum effect under the German ship, sinking it outright. Satisfied that all of the Germans were dealt with (and how), Taxi returned to Washington to deal with the remaining spies.

As it turned out, they were already burning down their house to destroy evidence of their plot. Entering the burning house in fireman's gear, Taxi Taylor fell victim to the spies' death trap: the safe containing their records stunned him, and held him to it with electrical current.

Luckily, Jim's Wonder Car was programmed to pull him out of the house after two minutes, so he avoided getting blown up by the heat-sensitive bomb trigger in the safe. Recovering, Jim used a foam spray to put out the house fire, and then called the police to keep them in the loop.

When news of his exploits made its way into the public arena, the Defense Department looked a bit more kindly upon Jim and his inventiveness, and quickly snatched him up to serve as an operative in its paranormal combat group - a band of misfits colloquially known as the Crazy Sues.

Mind you, Jim didn't see a lot of direct combat. No, for the most part, the Sues used Jim (and his subsequent creation, a robotic assistant named Transisto-Mech) in a mostly supporting role, ferrying the group around in its swank ride, as well as performing aerial surveillance.

After a few years, however, Jim was transferred out of harms' way entirely, at the command of the officer behind the Crazy Sues program. What exactly he did for the Army at this point remains a mystery, but one can bet it involved developing new technology for the government.

Transisto-Mech, or T-Mech as it is often called, is Taxi Taylor's very own robot. This contraption, built over the course of several years during his time with the Crazy Sues, has slowly grown in intellectual capability - and can assist Taxi in operating vehicles (+1 RS).

As an artificial entity, T-Mech does have some additional, basic properties of note. For one thing, it is invulnerable to poisons of any type, as well as organic diseases - with a 'mere' rank value 100 resistance to plague with a differing chemical background.
