Origin:

The Asbestos Girl is Victoria Murdock, a mere a normal human who used her scientific genius to build a costume out of asbestos - and then used it in a fire based crime rampage. She lacks super-human powers of any stripe, but has various advanced (for her time) tools at hand.

Powers:

(none)

Hindrances / Augmentations:

(none)

Equipment:

Asbestos Suit (s): her claim to fame, Victoria's costume is, in fact, made out of asbestos. This flame-proof material essentially gives this dastardly villainess intensity 20 (+5) resistance to fire and heat attacks, allowing her to go toe to toe with the likes of the Human Torch and Toro.

Flamethrower (i): a vital tool in her fire-based crime spree, Victoria would often tote around a fully operational flamethrower - when she didn't have her goons do it instead. This weapon can be fired to inflict intensity 8 energy damage to an opponent with each strike.

Guns (a): Victoria also carries around two pistols, both of which can be used as +4 weapons in her hands. Presumably, these slugs are made of asbestos (or lined with such), allowing them to ignore the flaming sheaths of the Human Torch and Toro.

Skills:

Chemistry (i): despite her faults, Victoria is a competent chemist, and can brew up her own asbestos fabrics for use in her war with the Human Torch. She can identify chemicals by various sensory means, and can lower the difficulty of chemical based actions by one level.

Contacts:

Her peculiar personality and raging hatred for her fiery nemeses seem to have made Victoria few friends to date. So far, the only people that have ever helped her in her quest are her hired minions, thugs who aren't particularly loyal to her, but like her money.

Calling:

Vengeance: almost all of Victoria's adult life has been dedicated to the utter destruction of the Human Torch! She'll do anything - anything - to avenge the death of her brother, and that means destroying the android hero and anybody that gets in the way of this disturbed quest!

Costume:

Victoria's asbestos suit was a primarily green affair, consisting of a green, long sleeve shirt and tight, green leggings. She also wore green gloves, green leather boots, a blue studded belt, a blue studded collar, a purple cape, and a purple executioner's hood with yellow eye slits.

Personality:

Victoria has been depicted as something of a man-hater, doing what she can to carve a place for herself in the criminal underworld despite its predominantly male population. She bears more than a little animosity for the Human Torch, the main impediment to her success.

Story:

Victoria Murdock was a gifted scientist who had decided to use her knowledge for her own, personal advancement - as a criminal mastermind! To this end, she devised a scheme involving a fire-based crime spree that she and her goons could easily perpetrate in asbestos costumes.

They would rob a bank or engage in any number of other activities you see, and when the authorities would come calling, Victoria and her goons would set the place on fire, escaping via their pre-arranged escape routes while the police were warded off by the intense flames.

When she'd learned that Fred Raymond had made various advancements in asbestos science, Victoria decided she must know his secrets. Invading his home, she took Fred and his family hostage, but the Human Torch was waiting for her to make such a move, and drove her off.

Having had enough trouble establishing herself amongst the mainly male criminal underworld, Victoria went off the handle when this artificial man stymied her scheme. Vowing vengeance, she arranged for the Raymond family to meet its demise shortly thereafter.

Causing a train they were riding to derail, Fred and his wife Nora were killed in the ensuing fire, but their son Thomas proved to be fireproof. When he resurfaced shortly thereafter as a circus freak, Victoria went after him... only to be again defeated by the Human Torch.

Over time, the Torch and Thomas Raymond turned into a crime-fighting duo, and even managed to bust Victoria's brother for murder, a crime he was eventually hanged for. Going completely off the deep end, she then officially became a Nemesis for the fiery heroes.

Obsessed with making these 'murderers' pay, she launched a large variety of schemes to deal with the duo once and for all, though time and time again she would be defeated by the flaming firebrands.
