* Amongst humans, at least. RV +75 to fellow Autobots, RV -75 regarding Predacons / Decepticons / Vehicons.
Origin:
Like the rest of the Build Team, and as are his fellow Autobots, Wedge is an electromechanical entity from Cybertron, a robot that strives to prevent Decepticon dominion of the universe. This alien may also be from another time period, making him doubly out of place on earth.
Known Powers:
Cybertronian Physique: like his fellow Autobots, Wedge is a robotic entity of Cybertronian origin. As such, this aspiring young warrior has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Wedge these super-human powers:
* Body Armor: made (or formed) from primarily metallic materials, Wedge is considerably durable. His sturdy, inorganic composition affords him rank value 10 protection from attack, enough to shrug off most basic human assaults. Wedge's armor breaks down as follows:
RV 10 / RV 4 / RV 0 / RV 0 / RV 0
* Growth: Cybertronians come in all manner of sizes, few of which align with the human norm. Wedge, for instance, generally stands at around nine feet tall in his humanoid mode, which grants him this power at rank value 2 as a general matter of course.
Unlike almost all the other Autobots on earth, this leaves Wedge with a size factor of zero (0). Though he's quite powerful in his own right, Wedge is generally at a disadvantage when battling larger robots - though he usually does just fine against the smaller Predacons.
* Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity where distance is concerned. Functioning at rank value 2, these powers let Wedge see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing him to read items on microfiche.
* Radio Transceiver: as are most Transformers on earth, Wedge is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other nearby Cybertronians, having rank value 20 range (100 miles).
* Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison: as an inorganic life form, Wedge possesses complete immunity to poisons and organic diseases. He also possesses rank value 100 resistance to more chemically creative forms of disease.
Blade Attack / Shoulder Smash: Wedge's bulldozer blades are situated upon his shoulders in his humanoid mode, allowing him to inflict vicious damage in a charge maneuver. When he attempts such, Wedge can choose to inflict normal or Slashing damage when he hits.
Corporeal Gestalt: leader of the Build Team, Wedge naturally has the rank value 50 power to combine with his fellows to form the mighty Landfill. Wedge forms the central component of Landfill, around which the other Build Team members can merge in a modular fashion.
Double Buster Gun: inherent to his bulldozer mode, this device detaches when Wedge transforms (it is not stored in sub-space). Wedge's double buster gun is a twin laser emitter he can use to inflict rank value 30 Armor Piercing Energy damage with each dual blast.
Shape Change: whenever he desires, Wedge can transform between his humanoid and mini-bulldozer mode, and often does so quickly in battle for tactical purposes. This power is voice-activated, however ('Wedge, Transform!'). His bulldozer mode has these vehicular statistics:
Handling RV 30 |
Velocity RV 10 |
Durability RV 40 |
Protection RV 10 |
Super Digging: Wedge can use this power either by himself or in tandem with the rest of the Build Team. If tunneling solo, Wedge may do so at rank value 2, but if all four members of the Build Team work together, they can dig through the earth with rank value 10 ability.
Limitations / Enhancements:
(none)
Equipment:
(none)
Quirks:
Natural Talent / Leadership: though he lacks practical experience, Wedge is apparently a natural-built leader; despite his inexperience, his natural charisma has drawn a team of Autobots to his side. Wedge's leadership adds 100 Fortune points to any pool he belongs to.
Skills:
Advanced Guns: though he is somewhat lacking in other aspects of combat, Wedge is well-versed in the use of his inherent weaponry. As such, he can make attacks with his double buster gun, as well as any other energy-based weapons, as though his Coordination was +1 RS in value.
Engineering 2: his primary purpose, this skill describes Wedge's talent in the creation of new items and structures. Wedge has the ability to build most anything he sets his mind to, thanks to his advanced Cybertronian knowledge, and may attempt ACTs to do so at a +2 RS.
Contacts:
Leader of the Build Team, Wedge can naturally rely upon his fellows for assistance; though he's young and inexperienced, his team holds him in the highest regard. Furthermore, as he is an Autobot, Wedge also can count all of those heroic robots from Cybertron as reliable contacts as well.
Likeness:
In his bulldozer form, Wedge resembles an orange mini-bulldozer, one with with gray trim in places. When he transforms, however, Wedge's appearance alters considerably, and he then resembles a tall, humanoid robot built from bits and pieces of an orange bulldozer.
Personality:
Wedge is very... enthusiastic. A veritable child at heart, if mostly because he is so young relative to the rest of the Build Team, Wedge sees himself as both a great architect and a great warrior. This Autobot is exceptionally brave, almost to the point of foolishness.

Story:
Unlike most earth-bound Autobots, Wedge hasn't actually seen all that much combat against the Predacons and Decepticons. You see, as soon as he came online here, he and the Build Team were charged with building the equipment the Autobots needed to function properly on earth.
The product of these labors, aside from the secret Autobase, is the space bridge network. This is a massive matrix of tunnels connected by transwarp portals. These tunnels have countless access points around the world, allowing the Autobots to drive anywhere in minutes.
While Wedge enjoys this work, he longs to contribute to the Autobot cause as a warrior as well. His passion for setting things right, along with his amazing construction skills, is apparently why the Build Team follows this young firebrand; they're all much older than he is, after all.
This longing came to a head when the Build Team was charged with making a space bridge access point in Antarctica, where the Predacons were raiding a diamond mine. Wrangling with Optimus Prime, he agreed to build the tunnel if he and his team could rout the Predacons.
Upon their arrival, the Build Team fought with Sky-Byte and his minions, but were actually defeated by the Predacons due to their inexperience. Though beaten, Wedge and his Build Team were determined to prove their worth, and eventually did so by putting their foes in their place.
After this, Wedge and company regularly joined the other Autobots in battle with Megatron's forces, for Optimus Prime felt that they should fight despite their lack of experience; if they never did so, they'd never attain the battle prowess and combat skills that they needed, after all.
In fact, Wedge proved instrumental in the Autobots' final battle with Galvatron, after his insane bravery and selfless dedication to the Autobots' cause helped Fortress Maximus to activate himself during this all-out scrap. If not for this, all the Autobots on earth may have been wiped out.
With Galvatron defeated, and both he and his followers incarcerated off-world, Wedge's ultimate fate is unknown. It may take him and his Build Team some time to moth-ball the Autobots' various technology on earth, so he may hang around for quite some time.
Unless the Predacons or Decepticons return to earth, Wedge will likely head back to Cybertron...!
