Origin:

Galvatron's origins are... complicated. He is from Cybertron like other Transformers, making him a sentient electromechanical entity. In addition to potentially being from another time period. Not to mention the fact that he's technically an undead entity these days.

Powers:

Cybertronian Physique: as are his cronies, Galvatron is a robotic entity of Cybertronian origin. As such, this incredibly powerful being has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Galvatron these super-human powers:

* Body Armor (s): made (or formed) from primarily metallic materials, Galvatron is considerably durable. His sturdy, inorganic composition affords him intensity 8 (+2) protection from attack, enough to shrug off most basic human (and even Autobot) assaults.

* Growth (a): Cybertronians come in all manner of sizes, few of which align with the human norm. Galvatron, for instance, stands at approximately thirty feet tall in his humanoid mode, which grants him this power at intensity 7 as a general matter of course.

As such, the Decepticon leader possesses a +7 size factor. He thus suffers a -7 when targeting human-sized foes, but gains a +7 on any damage he inflicts against them, as well as 7 points of damage reduction against any attacks they, in turn, launch against him.

* Microscopic + Telescopic Vision (w): all Transformers can alter their visual sensitivity where distance is concerned. Functioning at intensity 2, these powers let Galvatron see objects up to a mile distant with ease, and allow him to read items on microfiche.

* Radio Transceiver (i): as are most Transformers on earth, Galvatron is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other nearby Cybertronians, having intensity 7 range (100 miles).

* Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison (s): as an inorganic life form, Galvatron possesses complete immunity to poisons and organic diseases. He also possesses intensity 30 (+7) resistance to more chemically creative forms of disease.

Attractor Beam (i): in his jet and bat modes, Galvatron may seize people and things with a powerful attractor beam, one which is hard to resist in that it has no form or substance to fight against. This power can be used to grab or grapple people or things with 19 Strength.

Blinding Beam (i): one ability that Galvatron has demonstrated only in his automotive mode, this power allows him to emit a blinding burst of light from his headlights. This photon burst is of 19 intensity, and is enough to scramble the optic sensors of even the strongest Autobots.

Claws (s): in his claw and various creature modes, Galvatron has the use of these sharp implements when engaging in melee combat - even if he prefers to use his mega sword when getting 'personal' in a fight. He can use these claws to inflict +2 damage with each swipe.

Computer Link (i): a curious power that Galvatron possesses is his ability to link up with his Mega Star while he's in his mega claw mode, to control it combat - both melee and otherwise - as though it were an extension of his own body. This is an intensity 19 power.

Cutter Beam (a): in his humanoid mode, Galvatron can emit a powerful bolt of energy that he refers to as his 'cutter beam', which presumably acts like a particle beam. This bolt of lightning-like energy inflicts intensity 13 physical damage, anywhere within visual distance.

Cyber-Bats (i): a strange power that Galvatron recently developed is his ability to send forth a legion of small, mechanized bats which resemble his original bat form - they even retain Galvatron's original color scheme. These bats are the same size as their earthly counterparts.

Their purpose is much more sinister, however. You see, Galvatron can direct these things to attach themselves to human beings, and extend his vast mind control power to those organic entities. These small robots are non-sentient, and act like intensity 3 versions of Galvatron's bat mode.

Energy Vampirism (i): a variant of standard vampirism, this ability allows Galvatron to consume the Sparks of his fellow Cybertronians much like a normal vampire can attack humans for their life force. He need not bite others, though; mere touch is enough to make this work.

Galvatron can make off with vast amounts of energy from a foe with this intensity 12 power, should he pass an easy difficulty Energy Vampirism (willpower) action against them. Galvatron may steal energy each exchange, until he chooses to stop, his foe is depleted, or he is warded off.

Every day Galvatron does not absorb a like amount of energy from an external source, whether living or otherwise, his Strength and Willpower scores suffer a -1 penalty, as does every super-human power he possesses - save for his energy vampirism, naturally.

On the other hand, if at full Health when absorbing an intensity 12 amount of energy, Galvatron benefits from a +1 to his Strength and Willpower scores, as well as all of his power intensities save for this one, for the duration of an encounter, making him even more dangerous in battle.

When super charged with energy (benefiting from a +1), Galvatron also has access to additional abilities, powers which border on the supernatural in nature. These intensity 19 powers, usually accessed with stolen Spark energies, include the following:

* Energy Dampening (i): Galvatron can use this attack to seize all entities within far missile distance of his person, as per a telekinetic grapple. Those caught within this field suffer damage as though subject to Galvatron's energy vampirism, but he gains no power from this drain.

* Smother Cloud (w): Galvatron can let loose a dark, shadowy mist with which to torment others. This mist can surround a Transformer and inflict karmic damage each exchange it is active, causing even the most steadfast warrior to submit after but a few moments of torture.

* Vibration Control (i): it seems Galvatron can focus his massive power into a planet via his mega sword, causing all sorts of destruction and seismic disturbances at his leisure. This is especially dangerous to those who happen to be beneath the surface while he's tinkering with it.

Dual Magma Stream (a): Galvatron has a particularly devastating attack in his two-headed dragon form. Both heads on this configuration of his can issue forth a powerful stream of fiery energies, allowing him to inflict intensity 14 fiery (energy) damage per deadly blast.

Fangs (s): in his bat and both dragon modes, Galvatron has the use of powerful fangs, which he can use to bite his foes if he so chooses. He can use these rows of sharp steel implements to inflict +2 damage - but may hang on to a foe to keep inflicting like damage.

Flight (a): in all but his automotive and dragon mode, Galvatron has the ability to defy gravity. While he has wings, they can't really support his incredible bulk, and are likely augmented by anti-gravity generators and thrusters. He can fly at intensity 9 speed - 600 miles per hour.

Gestalt (a): the crux of his secondary plan to conquer Fortress Maximus, Galvatron evolved an eleventh transformation, one that allows him to adopt a 'headmaster' bond with one of his Decepticon subordinates, Megabolt, even if this plan also failed him. This is an intensity 19 power.

Hurricane Shockwave (i): in his bat mode, Galvatron can emit a powerful burst of windy force from his wings, a force that affects everything he's facing. This shockwave can be used to inflict intensity 14 force damage to everything and anything within near missile distance.

Image Projection (i): while Galvatron's visual receptors are usually tuned to absorb information, they can also be used to project visual information in front of him. This intensity 5 light system can project anything within Galvatron's memory, anywhere within near missile distance.

Improved Body Armor (s): in his Iron Mammoth configuration, Galvatron can compact his mass to attain even more resistance to injury than normal. While 'crouching' in such a fashion, he can use no other abilities, but possesses intensity 20 (+5) protection from attack.

Mega Sword (s): inherent to his form, this twin-bladed weapon can be detached from his body in his humanoid configuration. This allows Galvatron to inflict +4 damage to his foes, damage which is increased to +5 when Galvatron spins the blade in his 'mega sword strike'.

Mind Control (w): a dangerous, intensity 20 power Galvatron wields is his ability to reprogram other Transformers. As Megatron, he had to catch them in a stasis pod to attempt this, but now any Transformer is vulnerable to being reprogrammed after exposure to Galvatron's sinister Spark.

Mini-Missile Launcher (i): in his jet mode, Galvatron has access to twin miniature missile launchers. He can fire these 'smart bullets' as a swarm, causing them to inflict (all together) intensity 20 damage. Individually, however, these missiles only inflict intensity 10 damage.

Plasma Blaster (a): Galvatron also has access to a sort of rapid pulse energy blaster in his jet mode, in addition to his missile launcher. This burst of energy discharges can inflict a total of intensity 13 energy damage to anything within far missile distance he wishes to destroy.

Shape Change (a): alone among the Transformers, Galvatron is a dodeca-changer. In other words, he can assume twelve distinct forms, while most of his fellows have but two. This is a side effect of his exceptional power and skill, not to mention hard-earned experience.

In addition to his humanoid configuration, Galvatron could originally assume the form of a two-headed dragon (twin dragon mode), a bat (mega bat mode), an alien car (automotive mode), a powerful aircraft (jet mode), and finally, an incredibly large, grasping hand (mega claw mode).

After his transformation from Megatron into Galvatron, though, he added the forms of an elephant (iron mammoth), a single-headed dragon, a griffin, a devil ostrich, and a hover-transport that works on or below water. Even later, Galvatron added a twelfth form, that of a giant head.

This bizarre form can merge with Megabolt, who himself transforms into a giant 'spider head' to force himself onto Fortress Maximus, and thus control him. That was the idea, anyway. At any rate, Galvatron has the full use of his ordinary, physical ability scores in most of his configurations.

However, in his three vehicular modes, he is limited somewhat in his motion. In his automotive and hover-transport modes, he moves as though he had intensity 5 speed (whether on the road or in the water). Alternately, in his jet mode, he can fly per the above power.

This power is automatic; in other words, Galvatron need not attempt card play to change forms. However, as is the case with his minions, Galvatron's transformations are voice-activated ('Galvatron, Transform!'). He has different catch phrases depending on his transformation, though.

Sonic Pain Wave (i): in his bat mode, Galvatron can emit an ultrasonic wave of energy that tends to cause extreme pain in humans, and other beings with relatively unprotected audio systems. This wave acts as an intensity 19 stunning attack, and can fell all but the hardiest of opponents.

Super Grab Attack (s): Galvatron is essentially a very, very large hand in his claw mode; all of his motive function is focused towards the grasping of things. As such, he can inflict grapple attacks or seize objects as though his Strength was two points higher than is listed above.

Ultra Traction Drive (s): unique to his automotive mode, this mechanical power allows Galvatron to cycle the ridges on what are his wings in his other forms, causing them to act like a chainsaw when ramming other vehicles. This attack inflicts +2 slashing damage in a ramming attack.

Hindrances / Augmentations:

(none)

Equipment:

the Mega Star (i): the Mega Star is a large, quasi-humanoid craft that Galvatron uses as an intergalactic transport and base of operations. The exact nature of this vehicle / base is unknown, but it is known to have trans-warp capabilities, and can be merged with Galvatron himself.

When using the Mega Star as an extension of his own body, Galvatron fights with his normal ability scores, but has the benefit of extreme size; the Mega Star is approximately 768 feet tall, giving Galvatron intensity 26 growth (effectively) while he's merged with it.

So, when merged with his Mega Star, Galvatron has a +26 size factor. He thus inflicts +26 melee damage vs normal human opponents, and has 26 points of added defense against their attacks. On the other hand, he is at a -26 to hit them in combat, while they receive a +26 to hit him.

Of course, the Mega Star can defend itself even when it's not merged with Galvatron, having an unbelievably large number of missile bays secreted within, missiles that inflict intensity 20 fragmentary damage each (they do not gain that damage modifier listed previously).

After all, it fought all of the Autobots to a standstill at one point. While the Mega Star was destroyed in personal combat with Fortress Maximus, it was not annihilated utterly. As such, it could theoretically be recovered / repaired / restored by an interested party...!

Skills:

Astronaut (a): whether he's flying solitary or behind the wheel of his Mega Star, Galvatron has the ability to fly through space rather well. This allows him to reduce the difficulty of any action meant to drive an aircraft, a perk that even applies when he himself is in his jet mode!

Leadership (w): out of either persuasiveness or simple intimidation, Galvatron can easily keep his minions in line. As such, whenever he's leading a group, it may receive a +1 to all the actions performed under his leadership; if this leadership is removed, this changes into a -1 penalty.

Skill / Swords (s): Galvatron has demonstrated rather competent skill in the use of swords while engaged in melee - his mega sword in particular. As such, when wielding such weapons in combat, Galvatron may do so at one difficulty lower than is otherwise required.

Contacts:

As the leader of the earth-bound Predacons, much less his Decepticon creations, Galvatron can count on his minions to assist him - or to simply do his bidding - whenever needed. After all, should they leave him high and dry, it's a cinch that Galvatron would come back to haunt them.

Calling:

World Domination, with a secondary calling of Greed: Galvatron makes no bones about wishing to conquer the universe itself - heck, he's proclaimed himself ruler of the earth several times! He's also quite greedy, preferring to steal what he wants rather than earning it himself.

Likeness:

Galvatron consistently appears to be built from primarily white and black colored metal, with silver, gold, and red trim in places. Of course, in all of his modes, he seems to have a few bits that appear out of place, being useful in only a few of his twelve configurations.

Personality:

Power-hungry, over-bearing, megalo-maniacal, and evil to a fault, Galvatron is one of the single most dangerous entities ever to have come into being. He lusts for power and dominion over the entire universe, and has apparently destroyed several worlds in the past.

If he didn't insist on having his minions do his dirty work for him, Galvatron could likely have accomplished his goal a long time ago, for those who have flocked to his banner tend to be on the incompetent (or cripplingly neurotic) side. Which is odd, for he does not suffer failure lightly.

Other Distinguishing Characteristics: in all of his forms, Galvatron appears to be a mechanoid entity built from white and black metal (with red, gold, and silver trim), one that has all manner of parts that are both appropriate and inappropriate to his current configuration.

Story:

Megatron, while unbelievably powerful in his own right, is not the ultimate lord of the Predacons. You see, he has revealed that he was sent to the earth by a body called the Predacon Council to seize control of its energy - not to mention Fortress Maximus, the most powerful Cybertronian.

He may be this Predacon Council's most powerful champion, or simply one of many such beings of like power; the latter possibility being a very, very bad thing for the cosmos in general. Regardless, he collected several Predacons and journeyed to earth to do the Council's bidding.

However, the heroic Autobots learned of Megatron's trip to earth well in advance. As such, they sent a small army of warriors to earth to intercept Megatron, and had a whole lot of time to prepare for his arrival. In fact, they'd totally dug in by the time his Mega Star showed up.

While his first mission on earth, the abduction of energy expert Doctor Onishi, was a smashing success, Megatron's further efforts on earth did not fare so well. His minions, while powerful and at least a little bit clever, were no match for the large number of Autobots on earth.

As such, Megatron seized the opportunity to abduct six Autobots that Optimus Prime, his hated enemy, had unearthed in the American Midwest. It turned out that these 'Bots were sent to the planet sixty years earlier, with the exact same mission that Megatron himself had been charged with.

At least, the part regarding Fortress Maximus. However, Megatron got a hold of their stasis pods, infusing their essence with that of his own, Predacon spark after reactivating them. This corrupted these Autobots, causing them to be reborn as evil Decepticons!

With these bolstered forces, Megatron should have been able to finish his job with little trouble, save for the fact that the Predacons and Decepticons didn't get along; furthermore, the leader of the Decepticons, Scourge, wanted to bump Megatron off to satisfy his own ambition!

As the Autobots were on the verge of activating Fortress Maximus, Megatron and his cronies tried to steal the so-called Orb of Sigma from them, which would reveal the location of Maximus' control unit, the Autobot known as Cerebros. Optimus Prime wasn't about to give in though.

Since this orb had taken control of his friend TAI, an artificial intelligence of Cybertronian design, Optimus Prime fought valiantly to keep the Orb out of Megatron's hands. In fact, after merging with his brother, Ultra Magnus, he formed Omega Prime - and thoroughly trounced Megatron!

His energy depleted, Megatron should have been deactivated at this point, buried as he was in the rubble of the pyramid where the Autobots found the Orb. However, the curious spectral energies within the pyramid served to revive Megatron... though he was a changed Transformer.

This because Megatron came back as a sort of undead Cybertronian, an energy vampire of dread power and purpose. After draining three of his Predacon minions, Megatron evolved into Galvatron. Now declaring himself a Decepticon, Galvatron's greed and ambition knew no bounds!

Using his vast new power, Galvatron made several attempts to take possession of Fortress Maximus, all of which were stymied by either the Autobots or Scourge himself, once that villain betrayed his leader. In response to this, Galvatron simply absorbed Maximus' power directly.

This gave Galvatron unparalleled destructive capabilities, which he used to dispose of both the Autobots and his treacherous Decepticon minions. They all survived these assassination attempts, though barely, and Galvatron was finally defeated by Omega Prime and his mighty Matrix Blade.

After his defeat, Galvatron was incarcerated within Fortress Maximus himself, and transported to a penal colony on an asteroid near Cybertron, along with all of his minions - save for Sky-Bite, who slipped away in the confusion of Galvatron's final bid for universal domination.

Whether or not he'll escape this imprisonment remains to be seen, but as powerful as Galvatron is... it's likely that he will. Eventually.
