Origin:

Megabolt's origin is a quandary. He bears the Vehicon symbol, marking him as a denizen of the future - or a possible one, at any rate. He seems to be a Cybertronian possessed of vast, almost unheard of power, and supposedly has the power of several worlds at his beck and call.

Known Powers:

Cybertronian Physique: as are the other Vehicons, Megabolt is an electromechanical entity of Cybertronian origin. As such, this impossibly large villain has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this, including:

* Body Armor: Megabolt was built (or formed) with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him rank value 20 resistance to injury. This makes him immune to most basic human attack forms, and moderately resistant to his fellow robots. His defense breaks down as follows:

RV 20 / RV 6 / RV 2 / RV 0 / RV 0

* Growth: Cybertronians come in all manner of sizes, few of which align with the human norm. Megabolt, for instance, stands at just under two hundred feet tall in his humanoid mode, which grants him this power at rank value 100 as a general matter of course.

As such, this immense conqueror possesses a +5 size factor. He thus suffers a -5 RS when targeting human-sized foes, but gains a +5 RS on any damage he inflicts against them, as well as 5 RS of damage reduction against any attacks they, in turn, launch against him.

* Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity where distance is concerned. Functioning at rank value 2, these powers let Megabolt see objects up to a mile distant with ease, and allow him to read items on microfiche.

* Radio Transceiver: as are most Transformers, Megabolt is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other Cybertronians on his current planet, having rank value 100 range (100,000 miles).

* Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison: an inorganic life form, Megabolt possesses complete immunity to poisons and organic diseases. He also possesses rank value 100 resistance to more chemically creative forms of disease.

Additional Limbs / Legs: in his emissary mode, Megabolt has six powerful, if slightly disproportionate spider-like legs. These allow him to get personal in a fight when levitation is impractical, and possibly to pin a foe under his massive bulk before a fang attack.

Energy Claws: in his humanoid mode, Megabolt can form energy-based claws on the tips of his fingers, allowing him to wreak havoc in melee. While they don't add to the damage he can inflict, these claws transform the harm his unarmed combat strikes cause into Energy damage.

Fangs: in his emissary mode, Megabolt is essentially a giant head - one replete with a massive jaw. Considering his size in relation to standard Cybertronians, he can use the edges on this jaw to inflict massive damage in combat, rending foes with Slashing damage in melee.

Gestalt: Megabolt has been configured to serve a role as a sort of 'double headmaster', similar to the bond that Fortress Maximus' Brave has with Cerebros. You see, Megatron (or later, Galvatron) can transform into a head in order to merge with Megabolt's chassis.

Then, in his emissary mode, Megabolt can perform a similar task, merging with Fortress Maximus himself - not that the unbelievably huge Autobot would willingly do so... but then, that's the point. This power works at rank value 100 for the purposes of forcing such a merger.

Levitation: while he does have legs in his emissary mode, Megabolt usually prefers to hover ominously above the landscape; his leering visage overhead has a potent demoralizing effect on his opponents. Maneuvering thrusters also grant him rank value 2 flight.

Shape Change: Megabolt has the power to change his body between two distinct forms - a sleek, humanoid configuration and a bizarre, almost impractical spider-head creature thing. He can change between these forms at will, though this transformation takes a full turn.

Sonic Missiles: in either mode, Megabolt has the ability to fire missiles with a one-shot sonic payload. Not only can these missiles have a Concussive effect on his foes, but may even shatter parts of them with a lucky shot. They have these vehicular characteristics:

Handling
RV 100
Velocity
RV 50
Durability
RV 20
Damage
RV 100 Concussing Energy Damage

Skills:

Leadership: more than anything else, Megabolt has learned how to lead his subordinates into battle - or anywhere else. Between bullying and actual inspiration, he's good at getting others to do what he wants them to, and this has helped him to conquer whole worlds.

Military: though he's a pretty competent leader outside of battle, Megabolt truly shines while he's in the thick of a fight. He is well versed in various theories of war, and can apply a strategy likely to win a given battle regardless of the situation at hand, no matter how difficult.

Contacts:

As one of the largest of the Decepticons (or Predacons, or Vehicons, depending on which allegiance he's currently claiming), Megabolt can generally rely upon most evil Cybertronians for assistance if he requires it. Of course, they're the ones usually asking him for help, really.

Likeness:

Megabolt is immense. His humanoid configuration is a sleek work of art, menacing and terrifyingly beautiful. Of course, his emissary mode is a bizarre, giant head (with optional spider legs). Either way, he possesses a gunmetal coloration, with red, blue, and gold highlights.

After he changed his name to distance himself from his era's Megatron, Megabolt also changed color. His humanoid form is primarily black and blue, with green and yellow extremities. His emissary mode is mostly green and yellow, with a blue undercarriage and black, insectoid legs.

Personality:

Megabolt bears the persona of a vicious, nefarious would-be conqueror. He lusts for ever more power, and has no qualms about bringing his full force to bear in order to get whatever he wants - which several ruined worlds can attest to. Subtlety is definitely not his strong suit.

Story:

Megabolt's is a walking, talking enigma. He proudly wears the Vehicon faction symbol on his chest, yet has the spark of a Predacon - and has declared himself to be a Decepticon. How he gained this hodge-podge of allegiances is unknown at this time.

Regardless, he is yet another of a long line of Cybertronian villains to take the name of 'Megatron', knowing full well the terrifying aspect it carries within anyone who has ever experienced the villainy of the original. Not that he needed to - he's conquered several worlds all by himself.

For some unknown reason, though, Megabolt has left his own time in order to cause some mayhem in our own - quite possibly because he was in on Megatron's plot to seize the power of Fortress Maximus for himself. To this end, Megabolt has considerably altered his form.

Not to mention his name. It's hard to be on a team with two people having the same name - especially if one is in charge. Thus Megatron christened himself Megatron Megabolt, which his fellows tended to shorten to 'just' Megabolt. Easier to shout out in battle, after all.

Megabolt has reconfigured his alternate mode to serve as a sort of in-between, one that would allow Megatron himself to merge with and control Fortress Maximus - a back-up plan for if Megatron's primary scheme failed. Not that his full power has been altered in the slightest.

Terrifyingly effective on earth, this villain has wreaked untold havoc thanks to his sheer scale compared to the natives, not to mention the impressive firepower at his command. Of course, all this was for naught, for Megatron's plot to acquire Fortress Maximus' power ultimately failed.

This even after he developed into a sort of undead Transformer, evolving into mighty Galvatron. When Galvatron was bested by Omega Prime in personal combat at the earth's core, all of his minions (save for Sky-Byte) were captured and transferred to an asteroid penal colony.

This seems to have included Megatron Megabolt. Of course, he may've escaped, having been sighted since in an all new color scheme, and now answering only to Megabolt. Perhaps this is in an effort to distance himself from the villain he was formerly partnered with, or just his name.

While it instills fear within most Transformers in general, the sad truth is that there have been many to use that name, and all have ultimately failed in their goal to conquer Cybertron - much less the universe beyond. What Megabolt is up to these days has yet to be revealed.

But it's likely he's going to attempt to rebuild his power base anew.
