Technoholic Formula Changes - Year 3!
April 5th, 2001: finished the Saga conversion of Kwinn finally, and did some more prep work for the all new Technohol 13. It's taking me some time, since I'm optimizing every single page as I go, but I think the final product will be more'n worth it - after all, my html will be perfect after this!
March 29th, 2001: I've finalized my plan for the new, improved Technohol 13, as soon as I can afford the price tag involved with professional hosting. It's a pretty keen design, I think, and the way I'm setting it up will let me redo said design incredibly quickly (finally get to use server side includes - yay!).
March 22nd, 2001: produced an The CASE version for Kwinn, that kooky Eskimo mercenary guy that was all over the place in the first two years of the GI Joe comic book, way back in 1982-1984. I'd been halfway done with this for a good long time, but stuff kept getting in the way... whoops.
March 15th, 2001: built the MSH Saga conversion of Slythor, the first of three GI Joe Manimal descriptions I intend to do here in the near future, assuming my personal life doesn't totally get in the way of progress. Of course, at the rate this has been happening lately... well, you figure it out.
March 8th, 2001: I've created a The CASE version of Slythor, the first of three Manimal figures for the GI Joe line I've just acquired - those bizarre, mutating-action alien figures that just came out for the Joes to mix it up with. Oh sure, they were supposed to come out in '94, but ah well...
March 1st, 2001: worked out game statistics for Cobra's S.N.A.K.E. armor, as well as their Viper Glider, in both MSH Classic and Saga terms. Of course, in doing so, I found the grievous error in my GI Joe Falcon Glider as well, so I had to go fix that up too. Er, sorry 'bout that.
February 22nd, 2001: completed Saga conversions of my two villain descriptions of Destro and Major Bludd for your gaming amusements. Started working on an idea I had for totally overhauling the... image of Technohol 13 that I have percolating in my head, though that's in progress...
February 15th, 2001: built up The CASE versions of two notorious Cobra operatives for the GI Joe handbook: Major Bludd, and the one and only Destro. Pretty keen, eh? Now you've got a couple more guys to throw at your collective heroes, 'specially since these guys are some of the greats...
February 8th, 2001: put together some more vehicular descriptions for the '83 GI Joe gear sector. To start with, I made an (albeit short) description of the Joes' Falcon Glider - it's short but sweet. I also went ahead and did all three of the Joes' robotic P.A.C. / R.A.T. units - they're keen!
February 1st, 2001: built two descriptions of some classic Joe vehicles - the Dragonfly XH-1 Attack Copter and the Wolverine armored missile launcher vehicle. Naturally, I did these in both MSH Classic and Saga for your gaming... pleasure... and am busy cranking out several more fun toys!
January 25th, 2001: did a bit of work on that first top secret New Universe project, since I've got a significantly large portion of that done as it is. Of course, two of the largest portions of said secret project are still looming in front of me, so I'm still not ready to make it public as of yet... d'oh.
January 18th, 2001: started to do an inventory of what needs to be done right away in my Variant Earth 13 reference, since I've been rather negligent in updating that thing. Found that a lot of the p.c. entries need to be added and/or altered, so I'm working out what changes go where yet...
January 11th, 2001: I did a bit of tinkering with the New Universe stuff, the only visible bit of which is my adding a blurb to the New U News page. The rest mostly involved me noting chronologies for folks in the Psi-Force section of the New U handbook, as that's a handy reference if you like a character...
January 4th, 2001: well, I finally finished up the Kickers, Inc. arm of the New Universe handbook. It's relatively small, but it took more out of me than you'll ever know. If you think I'm exaggerating, feel free to check it out in all its splendid glory, and you tell me what you think, hey?
December 28th, 2000: completed another third of my Kickers, Inc. reference, which is now online - yep, that's the other top secret thingiebob I've been working on. I wanted to just surprise everybody and put it all up at once, but that didn't happen, so feel free to check it out today!
December 21st, 2000: did another large portion of work for that second secret New Universe project, some of which you can find in that section now, if you want to go looking for it. It's not all that much still, but if you're curious, and who isn't, it's there for your reading amusement.
December 14th, 2000: made serious progress on Secret New Universe Project Numbah Two, doing a good third of that work, though I also made a quantum breakthrough in the whole deluxe character sheet effort, having now posted four such GI Joe works on the 13. Woo!
December 7th, 2000: started to work a little bit on updating the Atomic Links page, since it's got a few deaders in there, and I've spotted a bunch of new MSH sites out there. Also began work on another, second secret New Universe project, though I put up a sneak preview for y'all!
November 30th, 2000: well, I went ahead and finished all kinds of Saga conversions, including the last four of my '83 Joes, four '83 Joe vehicles, and even an '83 Cobra fellow I've neglected for some time. I even did some more of my top secret New U stuff!
November 23rd, 2000: hm... to be honest, I don't have all that much to report. I did two Saga conversions of those '83 Joes, leaving me with five more to work on. Of course, I did more work on that top secret New Universe dingus, but then, I can't really show you that, yet...
November 17th, 2000: got four Saga conversions of Joe characters done this week. Three of them were outstanding '83 Joe work, and the other one was no less than Serpentor himself, that bad boy genetic construct super solder would-be world-dominator type. Keen? Yes...
November 9th, 2000: primarily, I spent this week working on a top secret project that's going to be a keen addition to the New Universe handbook. Now, you can't see it just yet, in that it's in its formative stages as of yet, but trust me, when it's done, it'll rock the house! Yours, not mine...
November 2nd, 2000: well, I do believe that I got all of that droll formatting work for the 13 done, in that I have vanquished the Times New Roman font from every single page that I can think of. Excellent... I do so hate that font, and now, despite Netscape's wishes, you won't see it here!
October 27th, 2000: since some sort of attention is being beamed my way all of a sudden, I've decided to finish up my Red Sun stuff, since people are going to be poking around in it en masse... go figure. But, since that's just a bit of work on Rodstvow, no biggie, neh? THEN back to the font work!
October 19th, 2000: well, I've completed all of my intended overhaul of the 13, giving the page a much needed freshening up, download time-wise... should come in handy. However, due to a Netscape issue, i seem to be in need of fixing up the fonts on several handbooks... ergh.
October 12th, 2000: did a large portion of the overhaul process on the 13, yet again changing the overall look, flow, and structure of the site. However, I'm darn sure that this change - the last for quite a bit - is for the best, 'cause it's leaner and meaner than ever before!!
October 5th, 2000: started to choose a new layout and all that for the 13, if not actually implementing it; you should see it within a week. Started on Rodstvow, but haven't got too far with the guy; he's hard to quantify, after all. I'll get it eventually, though.
September 28th, 2000: hoo hah! Well, in addition to clearing up all them Medusa Web fellows, I've gotten three of the four remaining members of the Crasniye Solleetsi (Red Sun) team from Psi-Force all done up for both MSH RPG's... Only have one to go as of today - that being Rodstvow...
September 21st, 2000: well, I'll bet you didn't expect this... namely, I went ahead and worked out Saga conversions for all eight of the remaining members of the Medusa Web that I've been sitting on since '98. No foolin'! Of course, I finally documented the last Web operative I needed, for both MSH games!
September 14th, 2000: you don't see any of it yet, but I have started up some of the '83 Joe vehicles that I've been neglecting for a bit... I've been ironing out some kinks in the Joe handbook's tech section, too, which you won't see unless you're VERY perceptive. So, I suppose I haven't got much done.
September 7th, 2000: hey, I've managed to finally get a descripton of Wild Bill up in the Joe handbook, thus completing all the '83 Joes for the MSH Classic game, at least. I'll be getting to them there Saga conversions soon enough, though I'm not exactly sure when that'll happen. Stay tuned, eh?
August 31st, 2000: yet more minor inner workings on the 13 have been fine tuned during the week, not that you'd actually see 'em if you saw them. They may not be directly apparent, but they help the overall use of the 13 in general, so you'll thank me for 'em some day - or something...
August 24st, 2000: well, so far this week, I've finished up Tripwire for the GI Joe section, though I finally uploaded several other Joes I've been sitting on for some reason these last couple of weeks. Also performed a few corrections to some of the Joe entries - little stuff.
August 17th, 2000: so far, I've worked out statistics for two more Joes - though per my previous plan, I haven't updated the Joe section yet; I know this sucks for you regular visitors to the site, so I may drop this plan soon. Perhaps it was just a rotten idea, what with my schedule...
August 10th, 2000: did a bit of cleaning up in the Medusa Web sector of the New Universe handbook; nothing major, of course, just a bit of Saga stats for three of those fellows, as well as some fine tuning; I WILL get this ancient sector of the 13 up to speed, mark my words!
August 3rd, 2000: worked on two new Joes, though only in Saga terms. I haven't quite got them up to the 13, of course, but that's sort of kind of in progress, since the plan is to update the Joe section in a big sort of clump. We'll see how that works out, knowing my inherent laziness...
July 27th, 2000: told you. I've got five new, classic Joe descriptions up in the '83 section of that handbook, and I'm fast working on more. I've been sitting on these guys for a few days, but I'm finally back on the whole web posting thing again. Sorry 'bout the delay!
July 20th, 2000: haven't posted anything up to the 13, yet, but I am definitely working on something keen... you should see it coming up here in a couple of days. Until then, just know that I am still on this crazy thing, even if things haven't changed much in the last month...!
July 13th, 2000: stupid job, hogging all my time with its sad silliness. Worked on the Atomic Links some, weeding out the nonexistent ones and adding a plethora of new ones, links that are either actually new or those that I've simply been sitting on for a bit. Whoops.
July 6th, 2000: finished up a new Cobra entry: the Cobra Techie. I'm sort of working on a further fine tuning of that section so far, but things are rather slow going of late. I've begun the last '82 Cobra fellow that needs coverage, but I haven't made much progress in that regard...
June 29th, 2000: since the move, I haven't got all that much done just yet. For one thing, I did work on cleaning up the GI Joe section some, ironing out some of the kinks here and there. Other than fine tuning some of the section logos, I suppose that's pretty much it.
June 22, 2000: Well. Haven't got any physical progress done on the 13, as I had to move the damn thing back to the @home server yet again, since the rpex.net system seems to be totally down. Drat. So, that's where MY week went. Sorry 'bout the inconvenience.
June 15th, 2000: finally got the one and only Cobra Commander up in the GI Joe handbook, in all eight or so of his incarnations (even though I'll have to update him when his newest figure comes out later this year). Been too busy for much more than that so far, but I'm workin' on it.
June 8th, 2000: Feh. I haven't done anything this week. Anything. I freely admit it, though I absolve myself of any blame in this regard. You see, my job has done something silly, which has caused me to be stuck at work for extended periods of time. Sorry 'bout that.
June 1st, 2000: I finally worked out an MSH entry (for both games) for Miss Fury, that forties pulp heroine that was licensed by Timely comics, for the Vintage Age handbook. I'd only been sitting on THAT little gem for about a year, but heck, it's finally done. Go check it out!
May 25th, 2000: updated a couple of entries in the Vintage Age handbook, namely Red Raven's. I accounted for his recent appearance in the short-lived Nova series, and began work on the rest of the Legion, starting with Blue Diamond (haven't got very far, however).
May 18th, 2000: did some more v13 stuff, working out the essentials of the Mindwatch organization. Of course, I also finished up a description of the first General Flagg, as well as all seven of the Joes' original vehicles - for both the MSH Classic and Saga system! Top THAT!
May 11th, 2000: did a minor spot of work on the GI Joe guide, figuring out the Saga tech 'system' so's I can do proper conversions of the Classic writeups of those Real American Heroes' combat vehicles. Also underwent a slight bit of background work - nothing major, though.
May 4th, 2000: well, I finally worked out my new Snake-Eyes hyper-deluxe .pdf character sheet for the classic MSH RPG... check it out in the Universal Heroes rules section, bub! I've got more on the way, too, so you c'n expect more where that came from!
April 27th, 2000: did a bit of fine tuning and such on the changes I inflicted upon the 13 last week, slowly creeping in even more format enhancements. Not much you'd actually see, of course, unless you're a stickler for detail - and noticed the margins by the scroll bar...
April 20th, 2000: what didn't I do? I cleaned up the 13 a whole lot, changing from minty blue to radioactive green, replaced the disembodied Denny heads with clean, smaller button tab thingies, and even fine-tuned my deluxe table interface. Keen, no?
April 13th, 2000: well, I moved the 13 back over to the rpex web host, as lit.org took a critical hit thanks to some bozo messing with Crowe's ability to carry me for free... *bleeping* porn hounds. So, I suppose a general announcement to that effect is in order...
April 9th, 2000: with two whole years of online shenanigans behind me, I'm revving up for yet another batch of cool stuff with which to dazzle you, at least that's the idea. This work, of course, has started with yet another total reworking of the look of the 13. Enjoy, already, and stay tuned!
