Technoholic Formula Changes - Year 8!

April 6th, 2006: well, I was a day late but I've continued on with my slow-burning GI Joe overhaul. I have rewired Pathfinder (again from the '90 Joe roster) into the new, 'entry by year' format I plan to convert everything into. I've also gone over the entire 13 save for said GI Joe Handbook and the New Universe thing, and found a few oddities that need fixing thus far. Woot!

April 4th, 2006: heh, two updates in one month - I think the interweb may 'crack in half'. I have started the process of upgrading my GI Joe descriptions to make them individual entries by year, mostly by experimenting on Ambush and Stretcher (of the '90 Joe roster) to get the specifics of what I have to do down; the one has 3 figures now, while the other only has but one. But hey!

April 1st, 2006: not an obnoxious joke like every other web site on the internet is apparently running, but I actually updated things. I have added a crapton of stuff to the New Universe news, basically completing my coverage of the 'Untold Tales of the New Univesre' event that just snuck through Marvel Comics - save for updating the individual comic sections to account for the new stories...

March 2nd, 2006: so I saw a bunch of New Universe News had occurred while I wasn't paying attention, and thus went ahead and updated the New Universe News page of the New Universe Handbook. I accounted for the beginning of the Untold Tales of the New Universe event from Marvel this month, and figured you may or may not want to be kept in the loop for developments in such. So there you go.

New New-U News. New New-U News. New New-U News....

January 15th, 2006: more evidence I'm a geek, I just made a link to the Technohol 13 Frappr! thing I built a few months ago but never bothered to, well, link to. I'm not even sure there's any interest in such a thing, but I kind of liked the overall idea of the Frappr!, so I figured what the Heck. If'n you want to tag yourself relative to the Firebomb worldwide, feel free to drop by there (link on main page nav).

January 14th, 2006: just a minor one today. I went through the 'basics' page to get rid of that web ring thing. I figured it wasn't displaying most of the time, and besides, I ... don't think that one was working any more. Oddly I've toyed with seeing if I could concoct some sort of web ring application myself, so I may do that just to see how many folks I can get hooked up into the thing, but we'll see.

January 13th, 2006: wow. I was going through some stuff on a lark and I realized I'd been sitting on two of my Tales From Variant Earth 13 stories. For about a year... heh. So, I went ahead and uploaded them and made nifty links to them for your reading pleasure. They're the last two Agency 13 stories I'd written, and of course leave things at a sort of cliffhanger. I hope to finish that (and Chuck's) tale shortly.

January 12th, 2006: hey, what do you know, two update days in a row! I dug up two links I'd uncovered over the past month or so and had been meaning to add, but never got around to it. But hey, I'm adjusting to the new job, which is now one of several and all that, so nyah. At any rate, I've added two new Marvel Saga sites to the Atomic links, and removed one that has gone the way of the Dodo. Ah, maintenance!

Speaking of, I updated the 'firebomb' author information page for the first time in what, three years? I fine tuned it to display proper numbers, such as my real age, in addition to a general overhaul of what was there before. I think I retained only one or two of the original paragraphs! New stupid picture, new stupid babbling - your pal Firebomb is all about new time-wasting text-based entertainment!

January 11th, 2006: though I haven't been keeping up with things very well of late, I've at least been trying to keep up with the laundry list of New Universe news that's been erupting out of the blue of late. So much so, in fact, that I have decided to overhaul that section of the New Universe 'thing', so's it looks a bit more slick. You can see that on the 'new' new-u news page, if not the old.

Hm. New New-U News. Say that ten times fast...

December 3rd, 2005: again doing things New Universe-esque, I updated the New Universe news page (again), since the second part of the Exiles' trip there hit the comic book stores on the 1st. I also started a 'skeleton' page for the World Tour thing, since it seems something more's coming out of it very very soon - the next couple of months are going to keep me busy where New Universe news is concerned...

November 27th, 2005: though you couldn't tell of course, I've been working on the Psi-Force part of the New Universe handbook all week - namely scanning in and making presentable all 33 of the covers in its print run - that's right, I've constructed a Psi-Force Cover Imagery for your viewing pleasure! All 32 regular issues, plus the annual, have their covers displayed for your convenience now. Woot and so forth.

November 17th, 2005: well, after a few months of sluggishness, I got back to the actual updating - but then I had little choice. See, a bunch of New Universe oddities are surfacing, so I'm actually having to update the news stuff. Also, I was told of a new New Universe site that's looking to be pretty Mighty once it gets some steam, so I had to link to it immediately. Hope to have more for you soon.

September 29th, 2005: again experiencing a work-inspired slow down, I haven't managed to get all that much done with the 13 this week, and for that I again apologize (was hoping to keep up a manic pace of getting things that needed done finished so I could concentrate on the goods). However, I did upgrade the New Universe news page again, since I tripped over something interesting at the comic book sto'.

September 23rd, 2005: thus far today I haven't managed too much, but then I'm about to start the work day proper. Thus far, I've 'prettied up' the Red Sun roster page in the New Universe handbook, which was really simple since I only had to reconfigure four of the entries. But hey, that just leaves the Medusa Web roster page to finish rendering the New U Handbook 'current'.

September 22nd, 2005: I do apologize for the lack of updates the last few days (especially compared to my pace of late), had a few 'issues' here - namely 'need to drop my boss in the wood chipper' episodes. I'm trying to make Lemonade, however, so we'll see how that goes. Regardless, I actually added someone to the v13 thing. He's Maurice Ding, a nasty human being and a Machine Gun Buddhist!

September 15th, 2005: Thus far I've tinkered around with the Robots in Disguise stuff, 'tweaking' the index pages there to get them to the same level of goodness the New Universe indexes have - there was a lot less to clean up, after all. Probably should've worked on the Psi-Force pages, but eh. Not sure what else I'll get done here on this Thursday, but I'll re-update the page as soon as I add more.

September 14th, 2005: I smoothed out the Starblast index page that is mostly incomplete - I'd almost forgotten about it entirely. Also fixed the MSH Infinity stuff - I meant to install 'redirects' since I reconfabulated the directory structure, but had failed to do so (and folks were getting errors when coming to them blindly). Oh yeah, also added the Saga version of v13's Professor Frankowitz.

Oh noes, content!

Seriously, though, for those of you who have asked, this isn't precisely a harbinger of the upcoming, Saga version of the Manual of the Psi. Not that you asked about Professor F being a portent, but folks have asked me in general. My rules are in a curious state at the moment, but once I sort out some things with them and the 13 in general, I should be able to add to all three at once. Yes, three.

Portents!

September 13th, 2005: started work on the 'smoothing' process on the Psi-Force section of the New Universe handbook - have the main index page all done up so far. Just have to continue the process on the Medusa Web and Red Sun sub-pages to clear that out. Then, I need only do the text file upgrades and I think the entire New Universe thing will be modernized at last.

September 12th, 2005: broke down and did some image treatment on that 'old' Star Brand logo I scanned in, and got it up to the Star Brand portion of the New Universe handbook. It only shows up in the first few issue guides, but hey. That means that section, too, is now done. I made a similar mod to the Kickers, Inc. and Spitfire issue guides 'cause I liked it.

September 11th, 2005: haven't managed all that much today; mostly just finished the smoothing out of the Star Brand index page that I'd begun yesterday. This basically means that the Star Brand portion of the New Universe handbook is once again done - all I need to do yet is to finish treating the 'original' logo I scanned in and install it on the index.

September 10th, 2005: finished the GI Joe structural upgrades, along with those that belonged to the various 'top secret' areas that I've toyed with for years; some may see the light of day sometime, but who knows. The point is that if I do go 'public' with those, they'll at least be functional. So, at least the total Technohol 13 'background' fix is complete at last.

September 9th, 2005: I have completed my upgrade of the structure of the v13 code. The reason I derailed my New Universe work some to get on this was because I actually got access to my web statistics back, and could see the pages I'd broken with my previous upgradery... whoops. But, to stop lingering issues like that, I thought I'd clear this up once'n for all.

September 8th, 2005: though I got it in a bit early, I added all the text files as individual links from the Star Brand character write ups, and modified the text files to have Chronology information like all my other New Universe stuff. I also did the 'invisible' upgrades to the Vintage Age Heroes and Transformers: RID pages - just leaves the GI Joe and v13 stuff in that regard.

September 7th, 2005: I upgraded the 'infrastructure' of the Tales from Variant Earth 13 area, and made a subtle visual upgrade to that area as well. I scanned in, cleaned up, and added image galleries for the War and Star Brand series. I also finished smoothing out the Pitt index, the Draft index, and the War index, and started on the Star Brand index. Busy day, eh?

September 6th, 2005: planted myself in front of the scanner for a few hours and did some inputting. Well, that didn't take long but ironing out some of the images did. Regardless, I've finished up the Nightmask part of the New Universe reference. All done, imagery added to finish it out. Also. I began work on 'smoothing' out the Pitt index, and started a 'special' issue Imagery.

September 5th, 2005: I continued to work on the Nightmask stuff today, and ironed out the index page finally - also made a few minor modifications to the issue guides as well. Also again, though I thought I was done, I had to revisit the Spitfire text files (forgot their chronologies), and the Kickers, Inc. page (old logo added) to once again make them 'done'. They keep pulling me back in...

September 4th, 2005: apologies for a lack of progress the last few days, had to help move a demolished driveway and it pretty much wrecked me physically. Haven't had much impetus to do much... lousy out-of-shape-ness. However, I started on the Nightmask stuff today, adding in all the text issue versions of the characters. Tomorrow I'll make it pretty, and hopefully get an Imagery going as well.

September 1st, 2005: well hey, it only took a few minutes but I managed it - I finally got the Spitfire and the Troubleshooters / Spitfire / Codename: Spitfire section of the New Universe handbook all done. Its many titles aside, this section has been sort of sitting there for awhile in an almost-finished state, so I'm happy to have finally taken care of that. Now, for Nightmask...

August 31st, 2005: on this last day of September, I actually went ahead and finished up the text file'd versions of my Spitfire writeups. That's right, all the heroes and all the villains are done. All I need to do is text-i-fy the issue summaries and the Spitfire thing is done - I'll get on that tomorrow, though, for I am tired (it's 4:15 AM as I type this, ya know - I've got to sleep some of the time...).

August 30th, 2005: worked on a bunch more text file versions of the Spitfire folks, and now I have all the pilots and armors covered, and am beginning to work on the support cast. Hope to finish up the Troubleshooters and the background folk from Project: Spitfire tomorrow, so I can begin work on the villainous types. Slowly it comes together... mu hu heh heh heh.

August 29th, 2005: As promised (after a fashion), I have repaired the weirdo-broke 'old' Spitfire comic logo in that section, and continued working on the construction of a text file archive; this takes longer than I recall - and reminded me why I started doing this as I was writing entries in the first place. I've got four folks covered, and will do more tomorrow - if not all; depends on the job.

August 28th, 2005: though I was originally satisfied with the look of the Spitfire area, I went and modified that 'top' portion of the Spitfire index by adding in the original logo to go along with the second one. Of course, I screwed it up somehow and the logos have junk on the one side, but I'll fix that later. Just thought I'd get it up before I crashed for the evening. Progress!, and stuff.

August 27th, 2005: kept on the completion of the Spitfire area, and started putting together text file versions of my writeups of the various cast members. I also completed the Mark Hazzard: Merc area once and for all, as I have added a cover imagery to that section - so it and Kickers, Inc. are now Done. The scans look goofy though, because many of my New U comics seem to be... trapezoidal...

August 26th, 2005: continuing the work I started Sunday, I did a whole lot of streamlining, working the kinks out of the Spitfire section of the New Universe guide and making it smooth. I rearranged where some characters are resting also, so I installed redirect pages to point them to the proper place (for old search engine-y stuff). I'm also modifying the main page some... I'll get it in soon.

August 25th, 2005: after a long pause, I return. I started by rebuilding the entire site from the ground up (not that you can see it unless you look real close). You see, I found a way to reduce the server activity time required with each page, so I've begun by upgrading a couple hundred pages. So far, I've finished everything that has the Technohol 13, New Universe or MSH Infinity logos on it.

The latter is very very small, but the rest are not. I hope to continue this work in the next week or so to come, but we'll see how that goes (was hoping to get some actual visible progress done). Speaking of visible progress, I did update the New Universe News page (since there's actually some New Universe news), and I added a Cover Imagery to the Spitfire and the Troubleshooters page.

I hope to streamline this section, and add an Imagery to the Merc section, very very soon. Keep an eye out for this business, in case you're interested.

May 26th, 2005: was poking around on the site, and I noted that the tfw2005.com linky thing had up and vanished, so heading to their site their link thing had failed. Or was deleted. Or... something. So I removed it. I also added a new link to the New Universe links page, because, well, I had a new one. Of course, it seems said link has gone bad already, so I'll probably remove it imminently.

April 9th, 2005: Well, it's the beginning of the eighth year that I've been running this goofy site, and I don't see any end in sight (hey, I made a rhyme). Of course, the trick is to get myself started again, since I've been sort of stuck at various things for various reasons... most not having to do with the material itself. It's a long story but I hope to get back on the Horse pretty soon.
