Origin:

Like most of his fellows on the GI Joe team, Crazylegs is a normal human - at least, in a strictly physical sense. He lacks fantastic powers of any variety, but he is a highly skilled combatant the military has trained to fight terrorists of any stripe.

Powers:

(none)

Hindrances / Augmentations:

(none)

Equipment:

Grenades (i): Crazylegs always has at least one of these explosives handy on missions - usually pinned to his jacket. They can be thrown to inflict intensity 10 damage to all uncovered targets within near missile range of where they detonate.

Helmet (s): Crazylegs usually wears this sturdy headgear while on the clock - safety is everyone's job, after all! It provides Crazylegs intensity 8, or his Strength +2, in protection against physical attacks striking him in the cranium (but not his face).

Knife (s): you never know when you're going to have to cut something - or someone. As such, Crazylegs always carries a blade with him on the job, which can be used to inflict his Strength +2 damage in melee, or to cut through items of up to m.s. 12.

Parachuting Gear (a): when he has to jump out of an aircraft, Crazylegs makes use of this gear. It includes of course the parachute, which lets him touch down on the ground in the proper, unbroken condition, as well as goggles which let him see as he rapidly approaches the ground.

Sidearm (a): a handy backup should his main weapon fail him, Crazylegs carries this small hand cannon on him at all times. Crazylegs can fire this weapon to inflict his Agility +4 damage in a single shot, or his Agility +5 damage in a semi-automatic burst.

Submachine Gun (a): his main weapon, Crazylegs always has this trusty device with him on missions. It can fire a single shot to inflict his Agility +4 in damage, a short burst of ammunition for his Agility +5 in damage, or fire continously for his Agility +6 in damage.

Skills:

Boxing (s): an ability that everyone learns in their Basic training, Crazylegs can easily defend himself should he find himself without weapons. He may divide his pre-card play action score between two unarmed melee attacks, the last of which occurs as a contingent action.

Guns (a): a skill everyone picks up in the military these days, Crazylegs can easily operate most standard firearms. Whether he's handling a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, Crazylegs may do so at a reduced difficulty level.

Military / United States (w): serving as an origin of sorts for Crazylegs, this talent is the source of almost all his other skills. It describes how he knows the SOP like the back of his hand, and how he can effortlessly function in a military environment.

Performer (w): a skill he worked on all through his childhood, Crazylegs is an impressive organist - he'd have been one of the truly greats if only his fingers were a bit longer. He can distract others with a performance, if he passes an average difficulty Willpower (willpower) action.

Contacts:

As a member of the GI Joe team, much less one good enough to be inducted into its elite Night Force unit, Crazylegs can easily rely upon his fellows for assistance should he but ask - the reverse is usually true as well. He also has other contacts in musical circles.

Calling:

Soldier: Crazylegs enjoys his job, as he gets to work out his aggression against real, live evil terrorists on an almost daily basis. He does it for his country of course, but sometimes it's nice to work out some of that rage over a lost musical career now and then.

Costume:

Crazylegs wears a practical uniform while working. It includes a gray jacket with red padding on the chest and shoulders, gray trousers with that red padding along the inner thighs, brown leather gloves, black leather belts and boots, and a red helmet with black goggles on top.

Personality:

Though he has a peaceful and artistic side to him, Crazylegs earned his code name for a reason - the man is nigh-fearless. He'll leap head-first into trouble without batting an eye - usually humming something from Bach while he successfully attempts the impossible.

Story:

Crazylegs had been working all through his youth to become a master organist, and would've become one of the world's greatest had his fingers only been a bit longer. Needing something else to do with his time when he realized his work was for naught, Crazylegs enlisted.

In the Army, he quickly proved how nigh-fearless he was, becoming a fully qualified Airborne Ranger and forward artillery observer. Having shown his willingness to engage in the riskiest of mission profiles for his country, Crazylegs was quickly noticed by the GI Joe team.

Always having a need for more elite terrorist-stomping military men, the Joes recruited Crazylegs into their ranks, and once he'd gotten through the various grueling entrance exams, he became a fully fledged member. Of course, his very first mission didn't go very well at all.

Originally assigned to extract several Joes operating in Sierra Gordo with Wild Bill and Maverick, their plane was hijacked by several Dreadnoks wanting to leave the unstable country in a hurry - and they forced the Joes into flying them out by taking a busload of locals hostage!

Having little choice, Wild Bill flew them out - though the Joes' plane was quickly shot out of the air by the local militia. Several folks were injured in the crash, including Dreadnok Thrasher, who Crazylegs had to 'anesthetize' with the butt of his rifle.

Saddled with a bunch of locals and several surly, out of their element bikers, Crazylegs and company had to make their way through the jungle to another airport. Stealing an additional plane, they finally escaped Sierra Gordo... though their mission was ultimately a failure.

Crazylegs next saw action during the Cobra Island Civil War, fighting with his teammates to help bolster Serpentor's rule over the despotic Cobra Commander, who was actually not the real deal. This mission was also a failure for the Joes, but not due to any fault of their own.

Crazylegs participated in several additional missions with the Joes afterward, though most were of a 'Special Missions' status, the details of which have yet to be revealed. Crazylegs's last mission with the Joes took place in the desert nation of Trucial Abysmia.

On a supposed 'milk run' against Cobra Terror Dromes there, Crazylegs and several other Joes were captured by an unanticipated Cobra force, which was on its way elsewhere. They had to deal with the Joes somehow though, and misinterpreted an order from the Commander.

Giving a SAW-Viper the job, the Crimson Twins left him to do the deed, and he gunned several of the Joes down while they were trapped in a small pit. Though Crazylegs survived this, he died during a subsequent escape attempt on a stolen Cobra Rage when Cobra destroyed it.

Due to his valor in service, he was at least buried in the Arlington national cemetery. Not that this is much consolation to the man's family.
