the Rage

The Cobra Rage is a combat vehicle designed for use in urban warfare. It's got a low profile, and almost all of its vertical surfaces are sloped to help deflect enemy fire. The original Rage comes in a beige color with burgundy trim and accessories, and has these capabilities:

RV 10

RV 20

Battering Ram: the front of the Rage is equipped with a fold-down battering ram system, the better to smash its way through walls, vehicles, or even people. It has an effective m.v. of 40, allowing the Rage's driver to overcome almost any impediment.

Cobra-Band Radio: Cobra gear uses a communication system of its own, not beholden to conventional broadcast standards. All three incarnations of the Rage have comm gear with a rank value 6 range (25 miles), and benefit from rank value 20 signal encryption.

Concussion Cannon: the Rage's primary weapon, mounted on top of its elevating turret, the concussion cannon is an experimental, directed energy weapon. A dual-barreled energy caster, it can fire burst of raw power that inflict rank value 40 Force damage together.

Deflection: designed with a low profile and angular surfaces, the Rage excels at whisking deadly damage away from itself and its occupants - though not those hanging on outside, sadly. It deflects incoming attacks aimed towards it by 1 RS, greatly improving its survivability.

Gatling Cannons: the Rage is armed with three of these firearms. The first is mounted between the two halves of its battering ram. It can fire a short burst of ammunition to inflict rank value 20 Piercing damage, or fire continuously to inflict rank value 30 Piercing damage.

The other two are mounted beneath the Rage's turret, and can rotate around to fire in a one hundred and eighty degree arc, from front to back in a clockwise fashion (where facing front is concerned). Being twinned, they inflict +1 RS to the damage indicated for the above weapon.

Laser Cannon: as if it's concussion cannon wasn't enough, the Rage also features a side-mounted laser projector! Mounted at nine o'clock to the driver, this weapon can hit anything in front of the Rage, inflicting rank value 20 Armor Piercing Energy damage per burst.

Mine Layer: mounted on the rear of the Rage, this box of fun drops explosives powerful enough to disable many vehicles - and just about any personnel, for that matter! Each of these shaped charges focus rank value 40 Slashing damage directly upwards on detonation.

Passengers: the Rage can safely house a driver and passenger, both of which benefit from the vehicle's Protection rating. The Cobra manning its elevating turret, and up to six additional hangers-on using the side and rear platforms to hitch a ride, however, aren't so lucky.

Surface-to-Surface Missiles: there are four of these projectiles mounted on the Rage - two on its elevating turret, flanking its gunner, and two on the arms that raise it up. Each doubling of these that hit a target raise the damage they inflict, indicated below, by +1 RS:

1997 Variations

When Cobra resurfaced in the late 1990s, they returned the Rage to service. While functionally identical, the new Rages Cobra fielded in '97 were primarily black in hue, though their trim, hatches, and weapons sported a Cobra blue coloration instead of the previous burgundy.

2010 Variations

the Fury

The 2010 refresh of the Rage was christened the Fury, and featured a black and dark purple body, with light gray hatches, trim, and weapons. Though updated with modern technology, the Fury is otherwise identical to what Cobra fielded back in 1990 - it's just a lot cheaper to build!
