Origin:
Robert Six is like most of the Joes in that he lacks special powers of any variety. He wields no suspiciously advanced equipment, has no mysterious legacy hanging over his family tree, and isn't a dread sorcerer. No, he just fights the forces of evil with fists and firearms.
Known Powers:
(none)
Limitations / Enhancements:
(none)
Equipment:
Helmet: Airborne's helmet has two functions. It protects against head injuries, providing him Good (10) defense versus physical attack striking him in the cranium, and also has a polarized red visor that reduces the penalties of dim lighting by up to 2 CS.
Knife: paratroopers always carry a blade on the job. Made from Incredible (40) m.s. materials, Airborne can either use this tool to cut through items of up to like m.s., given enough time, or to inflict his Strength rank in Edged Attack damage during melee combat.
Machine Gun: Airborne may discharge a single round from his primary firearm to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, a three-round burst of such to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage, or fire it continously to inflict Excellent (20) Shooting damage.
Parachute: naturally useful when leaping out of an airplane, Airborne obviously needs one of these when doing the whole paratrooper thing. This item allows him to exit a flying vehicle from extreme heights and easily land on the ground without flattening himself.
Sidearm: holstered on his right leg, this weapon is a convenient backup in the event that Airborne's machine gun isn't handy. He can fire a single round from this piece to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, or a short burst of such to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage.
Quirks:
(none)
Talents:
First Aid: Airborne is educated in the fine art of patching up the wounded. Airborne's attention immediately halts the loss of Endurance ranks, allows the recovery of one lost Endurance rank, and resuscitates the fallen within five rounds of them hitting Shift 0 Endurance.
Guns: a part of his Army basic training, Airborne can use almost all conventional firearms with proficiency. Whether he's toting standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifles or pistols, Airborne may fire such weapons as though his Agility was +1 CS in rank.
Martial Arts type B: another facet of his Army basic training, this talent describes Airborne's ability to defend himself while unarmed. He may attempt any unarmed melee strikes, from punching to kicking to elbow smashing, at a +1 CS to his listed Fighting score.
Military / United States: the source of Airborne's many and varied talents, this skill serves as a handy origin for the man. His Army training has given him an inherent understanding of military policies and procedures, on top of additional, floating military contacts.
Contacts:
As a member of GI Joe, Airborne can naturally rely upon his fellow Joes for assistance in a pinch, whether or not they're in the Sky Patrol. Furthermore, Airborne has the benefit of several additional, as of yet unstated contacts of a military nature - mostly picked up in Basic.
Costume:
When working with the Joes, Airborne wears a dark gray vest over a gray camouflage jacket, gray camouflage trousers, dark gray gloves, dark gray and black boots, a dark gray belt, chrome knee pads, and his dark gray helmet with a shiny red visor mounted on it.
Personality:
Robert takes pride in his skills as both a field medic and a parachute assembler. They tend to place him in a 'support' role, but Robert doesn't mind, for he is a consummate team player. Dependable and nigh-fearless, he's always there for his buddies, no matter how hairy the situation.

Story:
Airborne is the kind of guy that enjoys helping others. This is what initially prompted him to enilst, because he wanted to do his part for his country. Of course, he was able to help out even more by becoming a field medic, helping his comrades to avoid becoming casualties.
Airborne's main Army specialty is the assembly of parachutes, though, and he has become a master rigger. While every paratrooper packs his own 'chute, so they have no one to blame should it not open, Airborne is the guy who puts these things together for them in the first place.
No one in the Army today knows more about the standard, US T-10 parachute than he does. This level of expertise made Airborne a standout amongst his fellows, which got him placed on a list that leaders in military circles keep - a list of possible GI Joe recruits!
When asked to take the GI Joe entrance exam, Airborne was more than willing. Sure, it's legendarily difficult, but everyone who knows of the Joes' existence understands they're on the front lines of the battle with terrorism, and Airborne simply couldn't pass up the opportunity.
Once he was accepted, though, there was a sort of snafu with code names. You see, there was already a GI Joe operative making use of the name Airborne! The Joes simply made do with this situation by placing Airborne in their new specialty paratrooper team, the Sky Patrol.
This six-man unit specializes in airborne combat against various Cobra operatives terrorizing the skies, and does so in vehicles modified especially for their unit. Using a chromium based stealth technology, their gear is designed as a counterpart to Cobra's Pythonization process.
Airborne remained with the Sky Patrol for the duration of his GI Joe assignment. His years on board saw him participating in a large variety of highly classified 'special missions', mainly against Cobras using Python Patrol equipment to wreak all manner of havoc on targets worldwide.
(Historical Divergence)
GI Joe was intermittently active after 1994, though Airborne was more than happy to lend his assistance when called, which the Joes usually did when Cobra shenanigans spiraled completely out of control, as they did during the second Cobra Island Civil War and of course, World War III.
Though Cobra has seemingly been defeated 'for good', Airborne remains ready should his compatriots need him anew!
