the Desert Apache AH-74
The Apache AH-64 is a mainstay of the United States Army, and as such the GI Joe team has taken it upon itself to modify this powerful gunship for its own purposes. Hence the AH-74 Desert Apache, a slightly modified version of that vehicle, which functions as follows:
AGM-114 Hellfire Missiles (i): in addition to its racks of Hydra 70s, the Desert Apache carries four AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-surface missiles, two on each wing. These anti-tank missiles add +1 to the base damage of 11 for each additional simultaneous hit.
Body Armor (s): the Desert Apache is built rather sturdy. It possesses a protective cockpit blast shield, along with other reinforced armor points across its body. These provide the Desert Apache an m.s. of 12, and offer its occupants like, or +3, protection.
Chain Gun (a): the Desert Apache's main weapon is its 30mm, M230 Chain Gun. It holds a 1,200 round load, and can either fire off a (relatively) short burst of ammunition to inflict one's Agility +6 in damage, or be fired continuously to inflict their Agility +7 in damage.
Communications Gear (i): the Desert Apache is equipped with a gigahertz frequency, frequency wobbler clandestine operations radio system. This makes for intensity 7 communications power (with a 100 mile range) that features intensity 10 signal encryption.
Flight / Levitation (a): the Desert Apache can fly - and rather fast, too. It may vary its speed from 0 miles per hour (essentially hovering in place) to a maximum speed of 182 miles per hour, giving it both the Flight and Levitation 'powers', at intensity 6.
Hydra 70 FFARs (i): the Desert Apache carries eight Hydra 70 FFARs (Folding Fin Aerial Rockets), four on each short wing. These can be fired to inflict intensity 11 damage, adding +1 for each additional projectile which strikes a target simultaneously.
Radar Unit (w): mounted on the nose of the Desert Apache, this unit can give its operators an idea of the many threats in their surroundings. It can locate and track items out to artillery distance on land or in the air, with intensity 10 ability, assuming no ECM is in play.
