Origin:
Gristle lacks special powers altogether, and is seemingly human in his outward appearance, but it's hard to consider him human. He behaves like an animal, whether considering his personal hygine or his criminal behavior, and he has no qualms doing anything to make more money.
Known Powers:
(none)
Limitations / Enhancements:
(none)
Equipment:
Body Armor: as do his Headhunter Stormtroopers, Gristle wears a leather suit into battle. This ensemble, in addition to having the look Gristle likes, provides the man Poor (4) protection against conventional, physical assault. Gristle doesn't do spikes, though.
Knives: while in uniform, Gristle has access to his two buck knives, held in burgundy leather chest sheathes. Made from Incredible (40) m.s. metals, they can either be used to cut through items of up to like m.s., given the time, or to inflict Edged Attack damage in melee.
Tracker Gun: for those occasions where conventional means fail him, Gristle often makes use of this brutal 'can opener'. It can only fire one projectile per loadout, though this is usually more than enough to get Gristle's point across. This missile behaves as follows:

S Am 50 |
B Ex 20 |
Damage Remarkable (30) Edged Attack (fragmentary) |
Sidearm: no less powerful for its small size, Gristle carries an automatic pistol that can discharge one round to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, a three-round burst to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage, or all its rounds to inflict Excellent (20) Shooting damage.
Submachine Guns: when rockets seem excessive, Gristle can instead fire one round from these weapons to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, a short burst of such to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage, or fire them continuously to inflict Excellent (20) Shooting damage.
Quirks:
Unpleasant Habits: Gristle isn't just a charming nickname. The man eschews personal hygiene whenever possible, giving him a generally greasy appearance and malodorous aspect. This has the overall effect of reducing Gristle's effective Popularity by -2 CS.
Talents:
Business / Finance: more than just a violent thug, Gristle has a head for business. He knows value when he sees it, has a keen nose for opportunity, and can manage even the most mundane of business operations, resolving FEATs when called for at such times at a +1 CS.
Crime: having broken the law his entire life, Gristle is a career criminal. Not only does he make a living as a scofflaw, but Gristle is really, really good at it. He should receive a +1 CS on FEATs called for when performing actions applicable to illegal activities.
Guns: he's a competent brawler, to be sure, but Gristle prefers to let lead do his talking for him. Whether firing a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, Gristle may hit his targets as though his Agility was +1 CS higher than is listed above.
Marksman: Gristle excels in the use of advanced, line-of-sight weaponry, a knack he developed after he signed up with the Headhunters. He receives no range penalty when utilizing line-of-sight weaponry, resolving such attacks at his Agility score +1 CS.
Martial Arts types A and B: Gristle learned how to fight on the streets - the hard way. A lifetime of violence allows him to attempt unarmed melee attacks with a +1 CS bonus, and he may inflict Slam or Stun results regardless of his opponent's comparative Strength or Endurance.
Military: though criminally minded, Gristle has endured the same martial training that the other Headhunters have. Combined with proven experience, Gristle is capable of participating in large-scale combat, whether in charge of such or merely a participant.
Contacts:
Gristle is the leader of the Headhunters, a quasi-military criminal organization that is loosely aligned with Cobra. In addition to those two organizations, Gristle has countless contacts in the criminal underworld, because he has had his fingers in many soups over the years.
Costume:
Gristle's leather bodysuit is primarily neon yellow in hue, with a secondary black jacket and chaps layered on top. He accents this with burgundry chest sheathes, arm patches, and pouches, a burgundy leather belt and boots, black leather gloves, and mirrored 'bloodshot' shades.
Personality:
Gristle doesn't care about anyone or anything besides himself and what he wants. Supremely selfish, he desperately claws at everything around himself to have more. More time, more money, more drugs, just... more. Anything that gets in the way of his desires is brutally crushed.
Real Name: Danimal J. Rogers
Occupation: career criminal
Legal Status: citizen of the United States with a considerable criminal record in multiple nations
Marital Status: unrevealed
Alias(es), if any: Brutus, Vandalo
Group Affiliation: the Headhunters
Height: 5' 9"
Hair: red
Eyes: unrevealed
Weight: 180 lbs
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Gristle is notorious for his poor physical hygeine and his bloodshot eyes, likely a consequence of a drug habit that dips into one's product a bit too much. He also pulls his long hair into numerous tails pointing in random directions.
Story:
Gristle cares about what he cares about, and everything else is irrelevant. That's one reason his personal hygiene is so awful; he simply has more important things to think about than primping, preening, and uh, bathing. But this betrays his single-minded focus on profit above all.
While he seems greasy and lazy, Gristle craves more. Whether it's money, food, drugs, or anything else, Grisle always wants more than he has - or, sometimes, what someone else has. Thus, to achieve his goals, Gristle does the work, even if on the surface it doens't look like it.
While odious in both a physical and a personal sense, Gristle was nonetheless admitted into the Headhunters when they first got started, and true to form, he put the time in. He learned everything his Headhunters mentors had to teach, and turned that into a successful crime spree!
For a time, he helped several organized crime figures run illicit warehouses behind comedy club fronts, and used this on-the-job training to hone his skills. Massaging his many contacts, Gristle eventually found himself on Cobra's radar, and began to do work for that group.
Cobra hates dealing with Gristle, however, because he's so unpleasant to have in close proximity. And this is in a group that features Gnawgahyde as a member! Thus, Gristle rarely contacts his Cobra customers directly, using his Headhunter Stormtroopers as proxies in such dealings.
And the dealings he has! Gristle, having taken control of the Headhunters after the Headman's seeming demise, has his fingers in all manner of criminal conspiracies, ranging from protection rackets to illegal fences to drug trafficking, not to mention many other, less savory efforts.
But that suits Gristle just fine. He doesn't care where his riches come from, only that they keep flowing. Thus, he'll readily dip his toes in any illegal enterprise, no matter how awful, all to further line his pockets. Gristle will never have enough, which keeps him on the job non-stop!
