the Armor-Bot
The GI Joe Armor-Bot is the ultimate expression of Star Brigade technology. It is an immense (36' tall) walking mech, armed to the teeth and having room for two GI Joe operators. It is primarily a shiny white in hue, with blue and black trim in places.
Despite its humanoid appearance, the Armor-Bot is treated as a conventional vehicle, as it doesn't enhance its operators' abilities like a battle suit, per se. Though designed for use in space, it can be put to work on earth in a pinch, though it's relatively slow-moving.
The GI Joe Armor-Bot has these characteristics and capabilities:
Handling RV 20 |
Velocity RV 6 |
Durability RV 30 |
Protection RV 20 |
Armor-plated Body Shielding: the Armor-Bot is heavily armored, of course. It has an effective material value of 30, and provides the occupants of its head module with rank value 20 body armor, which is that value versus physical assault, and -2 RS versus energy attack.
Communications Array: the Armor-Bot is equipped with a gigahertz frequency, frequency wobbler clandestine operations radio system. This makes for rank value 50 communications capabilities (5,000 miles), that features rank value 30 signal encryption.
Cyber-claw: the left arm of the Armor-Bot terminates in an immense, three-pronged gripper claw. It can hold objects (or enemy combatants!) with rank value 20 Brawn, and each individual 'finger' has a material value of 40.
Chin Turret: mounted on the 'chin' of the Armor-Bot, hence the name, this rotary turret is equipped with a powerful laser cannon. It can be fired to inflict rank value 20 Armor Piercing Energy damage per blast, and can cut through up to m.v. 75 substances with sustained fire.
Deflection: in addition to its obvious protective qualities, the Armor-Bot is ray-shielded. Its highly polished metallic surfaces act to deflect laser energy at odd angles, providing the Armor-Bot 2 RS of deflection where laser fire is concerned.
Environmental Independence: the Armor-Bot can support its occupants for three days via a stored air supply. This translates into rank value 75 environmental independence, where air is concerned. If they doesn't bring their own food and water, its operators will have to go without.
Grenade Launchers: each side of the Armor-Bot's head is equipped with a grenade launcher. It can lob these up to a mile distant, and their payload explodes to inflict rank value 30 Slashing damage to the sector it detonates within. If both launchers are used, add +1 RS.
Growth: the GI Joe Armor-Bot is huge! This thing stands a good thirty-six feet tall, effectively giving it this 'power' at rank value 20. The Armor-Bot thus has a +2 size factor, inflicting a -2 RS penalty to hit normal targets, though they get a +2 RS to hit the Armor-Bot.
On the other hand, the Armor-Bot gains the advantage of 2 RS of Damage Reduction against normal-sized foes, and also inflicts +2 RS damage in melee against them, as well. Its missiles, of course, don't benefit (or suffer) from any of these modifiers, effectively being separate vehicles.
Machine Guns: each side of the Armor-Bot's head is equipped with a twinned machine gun mount. These inflict rank value 20 Piercing damage when firing a short burst, raised to rank value 30 Piercing damage when fired continuously. If both twinned guns are used, add +1 RS.
Radar Array: GI Joe's Armor-Bot is tied into the military's satellite network, which acts to enhance its own radar transceiver. It can pinpoint and track targets within five thousand miles of its location, radar precision of rank value 50 capability!
Resistance to Cold and Pressure Variance: designed to operate in outer space, the Armor-Bot has to shield its occupants from the extreme cold and vacuum present present outside our atmosphere. It can resist these two hazardous forces at rank value 75.
Six-shot Cannon: the right arm of the Armor-Bot terminates in an immense, rotary barreled rocket launcher. It can fire up to six projectiles at once, inflicting +1 RS damage for each doubling of missiles that hits a single target simultaneously. Said missiles function as follows:
Handling RV 20 |
Velocity RV 150 |
Durability RV 20 |
Damage RV 30 Slashing (fragmentary) |
