the Ghoststriker X-16

The GI Joe team's final fighter jet in its original incarnation, the Ghoststriker is definitely one way to go out with a bang. This air-to-air combat vehicle makes use of an experimental engine and frame that allows it, for short periods of time, to reach an astounding Mach 10.

That's right, the Ghoststriker can reach a level of speed equal to ten times the speed of sound! This is rough on the vehicle, so it only does it for limited period of times, but this capability allows the Ghoststriker to dominate air battles. It has these other capabilities, as well:

Anti-aircraft guns (a): he wings of the Ghoststriker each have a cannon for air-to-air combat. These guns fire short bursts in tandem to inflict the gunner's Agility +6 in damage, raised to their Agility +7 in damage when the gunner cycles them continuously.

Body Armor (s): the air frame of the Ghoststriker X-16 is incredibly sturdy - it has to be, to survive the stresses of flying at Mach 10. It has an effective material strength of 10, and provides its occupants like, or +2, body armor.

Communications Array (i): the Ghoststriker is equipped with a gigahertz frequency, frequency wobbler clandestine operations radio system. This makes for intensity 9 communications power (with a 500 mile range), that is enhanced with intensity 10 complexity signal encryption.

Flight (a): the Ghoststriker's hypersonic air frame and scramjet engines allow it to achieve speeds equal to ten times the speed of sound, or Mach 10. This intensity 20 flight is a bit rough on the craft however, so it usually sticks to half speed ('mere' intensity 15 flight).

Passenger: the Ghoststriker X-16 has room for more than just its pilot. In fact, the aircraft also has room for an additional operator, usually a navigator or gunner, who helps to handle things while the pilot is concentrating on flying the thing.

Phoenix Missiles (i): the Ghoststriker carries four Phoenix missiles into conflict. These thirteen foot-long projectiles have a top speed in excess of 3,000 miles per hour (Mach 4), and a range of over 100 miles. They inflict intensity 11 damage, plus one for each additional missile used.

Radar Unit (2): this nose cone mounted radome is an active system that feeds data to the pilot about everything in his vicinity, working with intensity 6 ability. It thus lets him track targets within ten miles of the Ghoststriker X-16 aircraft.

Sidewinder Missiles (i): the Ghoststriker's missile bank includes two heat-seeking, air-to-air Sidewinders. They have a 1.1 mile range and a top speed of Mach 2.5, but this is enough to handle most aircraft (who are also slower than the Ghoststriker). They inflict intensity 12 damage each.
