Grenades (i): Mace carries several XJT baseball explosives on missions, secured to a belt wrapped around his right thigh. They can be thrown to inflict intensity 10 fragmentary damage to all uncovered targets within near missile distance of where they detonate.
the Joe-Com (i): this is a new device given to all Joes since the group's reactivation. This high-tech wristband functions as an audio/video transceiver with various other goodies built in to help a soldier on the go, and is described in greater detail in its own equipment entry.
Knife (s): Mace always has at least one of these with him at all times - if not more. He can use these blades to inflict his Strength +2 in slashing damage, or to alternately cut through items of up to m.s. 12, assuming enough time to do so.
Missile Launching Helmet (i): when he's ready for action, Mace can put on his helmet and go to town! This head gear offers the man +2 protection against physical attacks that strike him in the head, but that's not all. No, not by a long shot!
You see, Mace's helmet is equipped with an oversized, fully functional 'stealth' missile launcher on the right side! This impressive neck strain allows Mace to fire a powerful projectile once per exchange (for an unknown number of exchanges), each of which can inflict intensity 11 damage!
Machine Guns (a): Mace typically has his pick of modern firearms, depending on his situation and mission profile. They can generally be fired to inflict his Agility +4 damage in a single shot, raised to +5 in a semi-automatic burst or +6 in a full-auto spread.
Semi-automatic Pistol (a): kept in a chest holster for more intimate gunplay, Mace always his back-up hand cannon ready. He can fire this 9mm piece to inflict his Agility +4 damage in a single shot, raised to his Agility +5 damage in a semi-automatic burst.
Boxing (s): Mace has plenty of training and practical experience in defending himself, even when denied the use of any weaponry. He may divide his pre-card play action score between two unarmed melee attacks, the second of which will occur as a contingent action.
Brawling (s): similarly, he may punch, kick, bite, head butt, elbow smash, knee drop or curb stomp a foe with the best of 'em. His acquired 'dirty fighting' maneuvers may drop a foe he reduces to zero (0) health into a coma, they're so darn brutal.
Espionage (i): his primary military specialty, Mace is very good at information gathering. The man excels at digging up the most obscure of data, no matter how hard someone tries to hide it, and he should receive a reduced difficulty on efforts to uncover information.
Marksmanship (a): while he hopes to not have to, Mace can readily bring firearms to bear in a tense situation. He may wield any standard, semi-automatic or fully automatic rifle or pistol, or even variant weapons like a shotgun, at a reduced difficulty level.
Military / United States (w): the source of all his many and various skills, Mace is a military man through and through. He is well-versed in the SOP, and can readily slip seamlessly into most any modern fighting unit, no matter its point of origin.
Performing (w): Mace is an actor of the highest caliber, not that you'll ever know it. He is the best at adopting multiple personas, often switching from minute to minute in frenzied phone conversations, and may distract foes with an average difficulty Willpower (willpower) action.
Guardian: Mace does a lot of bad things to bad people, but he does it to protect his country from those who would do it harm. It involves going into a lot of 'gray' areas for him, but he can sleep well knowing that he does terrible things so his fellow Americans don't have to.
Mace's GI Joe field uniform is simple. It includes an embossed black leather jacket over a yellow T-shirt and under a yellow firearms holster, khakis trousers, black leather boots and gloves, a black leather belt around his waist and his thigh, and his signature yellow helmet.
Thomas is an incredibly bright fellow, constantly juggling identities and personas on the fly as he meets with the sordid criminal contacts that unwittingly give up their secrets to him. He's also incredibly brave, as but one mistake could see him killed in the line of duty!

Thomas 'Mace' Bowman has a background in intelligence operations, engaging in both surveillance operations and intelligence gathering for the military. He's content to observe targets from afar, but if he must Mace will get up close and personal in order to squeeze more information out of them.
Over the years Mace has grown quite adept at shifting from one persona to another, keeping a veritable catalog of pretend villains in his head so that he may rapidly deal with a multitude of contacts in the underworld. This is what ultimately got him a job on the GI Joe team.
While Mace himself is rarely seen alongside his fellow Joes, the man is always working for them, now using his impressive talents on American soil in addition to other countries. You see, he's turned his focus towards Cobra and its various illicit activities around the world!
This often sees him hobnobbing with Vipers, Headhunters, Dreadnoks, and just about any other group of thugs Cobra employs. The man is good, too - those villains never know that the thug they've been bragging to is a Joe operative - at least until he suits up and takes them down.
Of course, even then they may not know what hit them, because you never expect that thug you're drinking with to put on a head-mounted rocket launcher and lead an assault of GI Joe operatives, now, do you? Ever secretive, Mace usually does this in a way that doesn't reveal his identity.
This helps him maintain his cover long after the thugs he's brought to justice have been processed by the legal system. In fact, he's often played at 'escaping' from prison or having 'done his time' after such assaults, in order to better get himself an 'in' with criminal organizations!
Mace continued this work for the Joes until they were disbanded at the end of '94, albeit temporarily. When this occurred, he continued on with his undercover activities, as Cobra's threat didn't end when the Joes were shut down - no, it only intensified, both at home and abroad!
