Like most of the GI Joe team, Sidetrack is a completely normal human, lacking ascendant powers of any stripe. He was never bitten by radioactive animals, doesn't possess beneficial mutations that would attract giant robots, and he definitely has no occult background.
Hindrances / Augmentations:
Grenades (i): Sidetrack carries a bevy of grenades with him while on the job. His miniature arsenal includes fragmentary grenades (to inflict physical damage), tear gas grenades (to stun opponents), and smoke grenades (to provide obfuscation). These all work at intensity 10.
Helmet (s): Sidetrack usually wears one of these implements while in the field. This armor plated headgear helps to keep the man alive when he's stalking Cobra operatives, providing him intensity 8, or +2, protection against physical assaults that strike him in the cranium.
Knives (s): since he often needs to cut things in the field, Sidetrack carries a knife on him at all times. These blades are made from strength 12 metals, can be either used to cut through items of like material strength, or let Sidetrack inflict his Strength +2 in slashing damage.
Laser Pistol (a): while most of his gear is low-tech, Sidetrack nonetheless wields a product of GI Joe science, a hand-held laser projector. This gun can be used to inflict his Agility +4 in Armor Piercing energy damage per blast, and can fire up to ten blasts before it must be recharged.
Machine Gun (a): equipped with a 'scope for a +1 to hit in ambushes, this weapon can discharge one round to inflict his Agility +4 in damage, a three-round burst to inflict his Agility +5 in damage, or be fired continuously to inflict his Agility +6 in damage.
Sidearm (a): a handy backup should all his other weaponry fail, Sidetrack keeps this firearm holstered and ready. In combat, he can discharge one round from this weapon to inflict his Agility +4 in damage, or a three-round burst to inflict his Agility +5 in damage.
Tent (s): useful for sleeping in the field without being eaten alive by bugs or other critters, this small tent is also used by Sidetrack for camouflage. The material and poles used to construct it are of earthy colors, and allow his sleeping form to blend into many natural environs.
Advanced Guns (a): after he joined GI Joe, Sidetrack discovered a whole new arsenal of high tech weaponry that he had only dreamt of. Liking this a lot, he co-opted and mastered the use of advanced, energy-emitting weapons like his laser pistol, which he may use at a reduced difficulty.
Boxing (s): the other skill that Sidetrack acquired in Basic, this talent represents his ability to defend himself unarmed. In such combat, Sidetrack may divide his pre-card play action score between two attacks, the last of which he may attempt as a contingent action.
Demolitions (a): Sidetrack's secondary military specialty involves blowing up things - and how! With enough time and equipment, he can destroy just about anything, though in a pinch he can rig together a spectacular demise for a vehicle or structure with almost no supplies at hand.
Guns (a): one skill gained thanks to his Army basic training, this talent describes Sidetrack's ability to fire most firearms when necessary. Whether it be a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, Sidetrack may discharge firearms at a reduced difficulty.
Military / United States (w): the ultimate source of all his skills, this talent acts as a handy origin fo sorts for Sidetrack. It describes his instinctual understanding of military protocols and procedures, and offers him several additional military contacts.
Survival (w): another facet of Sidetrack's expertise is that he can scrounge up the food, water, and shelter required to survive in almost any climate. Having had specific training in arctic, jungle, and desert survival, he can get along just fine almost anywhere on earth!
As a member of the elite GI Joe team, Sidetrack is recognized as one of the best of the best in his line of work. As such, when he requires assistance on a mission, his fellow Joes are more than happy to lend it, for such aid is never requested lightly.
Soldier: more than anything else, Sidetrack does what he does out of a need to prove himself, though he does enjoy his work. Given the easy road or the hard road, Sidetrack will always take the latter, simply because he enjoys a challenge, and doesn't like to admit defeat.
Sidetrack's field uniform consists of dark green camouflage trousers, a black, long-sleeved shirt under a collared, short-sleeved dark brown camouflage shirt, black leather boots, a black leather belt, a black grenade bandolier, and various leather holsters, sheathes, and pouches.

He went on countless excursions through hostile locations around the world while growing up, mastering one after the other and enjoying himself all the while. When he finally enlisted, Sidetrack became a survival specialist, allowing him to combine his work and hobby into one package.
Sidetrack loves what he does so much that he couldn't help but get even better at it over time, and perfected his unique combat techniques by challenging crocodiles for drinking rights in their own water holes and studying the breathing habits of frogs; it's unorthodox, but seems to work.
Sidetrack's prowess in the wilds eventually earned him a place in the GI Joe roster, as that group's always on the lookout for highly skilled personnel for the never-ending battle against terrorism. Naturally, Sidetrack's a perfect fit for the Joes, as he's just odd enough to blend in.
When he isn't using his skills to put down the latest Cobra plot, though, Sidetrack's more than happy to go out on excursions into the world's harshest locations - and he usually takes several Joe friends with him. Of course, he never lets 'em know just how rough they're about to have it.
