the Piranha Attack Boat
The Piranha is a large, fresh-water assault craft that was built by the GI Joe team in direct response to Cobra's use of genetically enhanced soldiers under the waves. This fast and tough boat is armed with twin torpedo launchers and three separate gun emplacements.
Most often helmed by either Cutter or Shipwreck, the Piranha is a great boon to GI Joe operations in river beds or near the shore - where Cobra aquatic troops are most likely to strike. It also makes a great patrol craft. The Piranha has these vehicular characteristics:
Armored Hull (s): the Piranha's hull is made from reinforced steel, to better fend off the vicious melee weapons of Cobra's genetically altered soldiers. It has an effective m.s. of 12, and offers those hiding behind it like, or +3, protection from injury.
Communications Gear (i): the Piranha is equipped with a gigahertz frequency, frequency wobbler clandestine operations radio system (and dual transceiver antennas). It has intensity 5 communications power (with a 25 mile range), that features intensity 10 signal encryption.
Machine Gun Emplacements (a): the Piranha has three of these, situated in a triangle at the front of the boat. Each houses a rotary barreled machine gun that inflicts the gunner's Agility +6 in damage when firing short bursts, or their Agility +7 in damage when fired continuously.
Roll Cage (s): the cabin of the Piranha is encased in a roll cage, which allows its pilot increased protection against crashing or rolling damage. In the event of either such occurrence, the Piranha's pilot should benefit from +1 to the listed vehicular armor, above.
Super Swimming (a): the outboard motor on the back of the Piranha allows it to move rather quickly. It can attain speeds of 60 knots per hour in calm water, reduced to around 30 in more choppy seas (intensity 2 super swimming overall).
Torpedo Launchers (i): the Piranha also has two torpedo bays, both situated at the front of the craft. They can fire projectiles which can target either enemy craft or personnel, and inflict intensity 12 damage, +1 if both weapons strike a single target simultaneously.
