Long Range 2
Like most members of the GI Joe team before him, Long Range 2 is naught but a normal human, lacking special powers of any variety. However, he does have at least one incredibly advanced piece of hardware with which to fight the forces of evil!
Limitations / Enhancements:
Knife: though he doesn't carry a lot of hardware on his person in the field, since most of it's in his ROCC, Long Range does have a blade handy. It's of Incredible (40) m.s., and can either be used to inflict Edged Attack damage in melee, or to cut through items of up to a like m.s.
the ROCC: this mobile headquarters is Long Range's pride and joy. Equipped with powerful holographic technology that allows it to appear like a regular Winnebago, it can travel undetected - until it springs into action! The ROCC has its own vehicular description.
Sidearms: his sole weaponry outside the ROCC proper, Long Range keeps both of these weapons on a handy, double-holstered belt. He can either fire one round from them to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, or a three-round burst from them to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage.
Driving: his occupational specialty, Long Range has been trained in the fine art of professional driving. Whenever operating a ground-based vehicle, he should make any applicable actions to handle it at either his Agility or its Control rating +1 CS.
Guns: Long Range is well-versed in modern gunplay, no matter the weapons used. Whether he's wielding a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, or even something like a shotgun, he should resolve attacks at his Agility score +1 CS.
Languages / English and Spanish: though born in Mexico, Long Range has become an American citizen. He is fluent in both English and Spanish, and may read, write, and speak in both naturally. He may know additional languages, but these have yet to be revealed.
Martial Arts type B: a skill everyone picks up in their Basic training, Long Range can easily defend himself without weaponry. Whenever engaged in unarmed melee, whether punching, kicking, or even charging a foe, Long Range may do so at his Fighting rank +1 CS.
Military / United States: the source of all his marketable skills, Long Range is a product of the military-industrial complex. The man knows the SOP like the back of his own hand, and he can readily fight in any modern combat group without too much difficulty.
Trivia / Philosophers: an area of personal study, Long Range has worked long and hard to understand the wisdom of philosophers from times past. He's almost always got a handy quote for most any situation, and should receive a +1 CS on matters of philosophical history.
Vehicular Combat: in addition to his ability to competently operate most any ground-based vehicles, Long Range also has the capability to fight in them as well. Whenever engaging in offensive or defensive maneuvers in a vehicle, Long Range should make applicable FEATs at a +1 CS.
Long Range is a recent addition to the GI Joe team, but he's rapidly acquitted himself both as a vehicle operator and a marksman. He can readily rely upon them, and several other military contacts he's picked up over the years, for help should he need it.
Long Range's GI Joe field uniform is simple and comfortable. It consists of an olive drab, padded vest worn over a gray tank top, gray camouflage trousers, black leather gloves, black leather boots, and gray belts and holsters for his dual sidearms.
Alejandro is a thoughtful fellow, one who faces every situation with calm determination. He's a student of philosophy, and tries to apply the wisdom of the ages to most modern problems. Of course, such wisdom dictates that some issues require high-velocity lead to reach a resolution.
Real Name: Alejandro Garcia, Grade E-5
Occupation: transportation expert
Legal Status: naturalized American citizen with no known criminal record
Marital Status: single
Alias(es), if any: none
Group Affiliation: GI Joe
Weight: 185 lbs
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Alejandro has a scar running over his left eye and eyebrow (though his eye is unwounded), and often wears long side burns.
Though born in Monterrey, Mexico, Alejandro Garcia came to the States young in his life, and quickly grew to love his new country. He enlisted as early as he could, and has proven his mettle time and time again as one of the military's transportation experts.
You see, Alejandro is a student and lover of philosophy, and tries to apply the wisdom of philosophers through the ages to all the problems he faces. This serves to make him a very calm driver, no matter what deadline he has or what sort of mayhem awaits him on the job.
His ability to stay smooth despite harrowing conditions and enemy fire behind the wheel got him an invitation to try out for membership in the elite GI Joe team, who was looking for another driver to handle their newest gear: the Rolling Operations Command Center (or ROCC).
Though it took him a bit of time to become intimately familiar with this massive vehicle, not to mention its incredibly advanced capabilities, Alejandro has taken to it like a duck to water. Whether on the highway or on the battle field, Alejandro can get the ROCC where it needs to be!
This has proven to be a great boon in the seemingly endless war against Cobra, which had its most recent peak during World War III, a conflict instigated by Cobra in a last-ditch bid for global domination. They lost of course, and in no small part because of Alejandro's hard work.
Of course, Alejandro is still with the Joes despite the ultimate 'defeat' of Cobra. After all, you never know when one of its still at-large operatives might decide to start things up again, perhaps under their own management. That's the kind of creeps they are, after all!
