Origin:

Tiger Claw has no special powers. He has a bevy of highly specialized skills however, thanks to both his military and his ninja training, which he ultimately received after a martial arts movie set him on the path of a warrior as a child. No, really!

Known Powers:

(none)

Limitations / Enhancements:

(none)

Equipment:

Sidearm: in the event that he just can't cut someone, Tiger Claw makes use of this backup piece, instead. He can either discharge one round from this weapon to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, or fire a three-round burst to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage.

Smoke Grenades: Tiger Claw always carries these devices on him while in the field - they help him against normal opponents immensely. When triggered, they will fill up the area they detonate within with obscuring smoke, which keeps him from being seen with Remarkable (30) ability.

Sword: having finally become a master of the Arashikage art, Tiger Claw has been presented with his very own sword. He may wield this blade to inflict his Strength rank +1 CS in Edged Attack damage, and it is built to have an Amazing (50) material strength.

Quirks:

(none)

Talents:

Climbing: one skill Tiger Claw has picked up as a portion of his ninja training is the ability to scale almost any vertical surface. He may add a +2 CS to any climbing attempts, even before you add any bonuses he may receive as a result of climbing equipment.

Guns: though he didn't originally know his path would intersect with the Army, Tiger Claw embraced it regardless. His military training has taught him how to fire modern standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifles or pistols at his Agility score +1 CS.

Marksman: additionally, Tiger Claw has been taught in the use of all crew-served and anti-armor weaponry. As long as it's a projectile weapon with a line-of-sight (or close) range, Tiger Claw can operate or maintain it as if the applicable ability score was +1 CS.

Martial Arts types A, B, D and E: Tiger Claw is a ninja! He may inflict Slam or Stun results regardless of his comparable Strength or Endurance scores, and may ignore body armor when doing so after studying an opponent for at least two turns of combat.

But wait, there's more. Whenever he's engaged in unarmed melee combat, Tiger Claw should receive a +1 CS to offensive Fighting FEATs while doing so, and should also receive the benefit of a +1 initiative modifier if he is fighting with no weapons in hand.

Military / United States: Tiger Claw didn't originally want to be a grunt, oh no. But Snake-Eyes insisted he enlist as a portion of his ninja training, so he took it to heart. Now, Tiger Claw is a fully trained infantryman, and may easily fight with most modern combat groups.

Martial Arts Weapons: while he's a bear in unarmed combat, Tiger Claw is also well-versed in various aspects of ninja weaponry. When wielding a katana, a sai, a crossbow, a shuriken, a nunchaku, or even a naginata, Tiger Claw can resolve such attacks at his Fighting rank +1 CS.

Stealth: the skill he always wanted to master, Tiger Claw knows how to be sneaky... very sneaky. Opponents attempting to spot Tiger Claw as he moves about should do so at a -1 CS penalty, perhaps more if conditions particularly favor him (loud noises, poor lighting, etc.).

Contacts:

Tiger Claw is a member of the GI Joe team, and can naturally consider them a reliable contact - the Joes are a tightly-knit group. Of course, he's also a member of the Arashikage ninja clan, and his work to reunite them has him on generally good terms with all of them - even the bad apples.

Costume:

Tiger Claw's GI Joe uniform includes a gray, loose-fitting shirt with an orange stripe down the middle, a dark gray tiger paw print on the chest and Arashikage clan symbol on the right sleeve, gray trousers, dark gray boots, wrist wraps, and belts, and a bright orange face mask.

Personality:

Chad was an impressionable young boy who grew up to be a similarly impressionable young man. He's brash and idealistic, traits which have seen him join both the United States Army and the mysterious Arashikage ninja clan, in an effort to do right by both of them!

Real Name: Chad M. Johnson, Grade E-4

Height: 5' 6"

Story:

Like several of the latter-year GI Joes, Chad got his start after watching something that 'clicked' in his mind on television. For him, it was a martial arts movie; the young Chad was so moved by the ninjas he saw on the TV that he dedicated his life to that lifestyle on the spot!

He studied martial arts as a youth, and intensely researched arcane and obscure ninja clans. His quest for the power of the ninja eventually led Chad to the doorstep of the now-abandoned Arashikage ninja clan compound. But Chad didn't know that he was being watched!

Continuing his studies in Japan for a time, Chad was eventually contacted by none other than Snake-Eyes, who offered to show him what being a ninja was all about. Ecstatic, Chad eagerly agreed to this, and you can only imagine his surprise when Snake-Eyes was actually true to his word.

Seeing that this Joe uses his skills to help his fellow man, fighting off the rogue elements of not only his own clan but humanity in general, Chad was sold - he asked to be trained in the arts of the Warrior. Though he already had an apprentice, Snake-Eyes nonetheless agreed to this.

Over time, Chad was trained intently in the Arashikage arts, gaining skill above and beyond all of his fighting talent to date. But that's not all, for Chad did indeed master the arts of stealth and shadow that so impressed him as a wee youth. Of course, that was just the beginning.

Chad was then turned over to the United States military, who gave him all the training he needed to become a Joe, as well. This took some doing, but as an eager and exceptional student Chad eventually made his way through the GI Joe entrance exam - passing with flying colors!

It was then that he earned his code name, that of Tiger Claw. He adopted a uniform similar to Snake-Eyes' other student, Kamakura, though with a tiger paw pattern dyed on the shirt to put his own spin on it. He then joined the GI Joe team on various operations against Cobra and its ninjas.

(Historical Divergence)

He would do this throughout the greatest mess Cobra ever caused, World War III, in which that terrorist organization almost conquered the entire planet in one fell swoop. With Cobra narrowly defeated, Tiger Claw has remained on the GI Joe team, hunting Cobra fugitives to this very day.

And works hard at reuniting the Arashikage ninja clan all the while!
