Origin:
As is the case with the vast, vast majority of GI Joes, Med Alert is but a normal human - even if he seems larger than life. The man has no special powers of any kind, whether they be from genetic mutation, accidents of Science, or the possession of obscure knowledge.
Powers:
(none)
Hindrances / Augmentations:
(none)
Equipment:
First-Aid Kit (i): his stock in trade, Med Alert always carries a first aid kit with him on missions. His gear consists of various medicines, antibiotics, drugs, sterilized medical tools, and a small oxygen tank. He even carries extra first aid gear in various pouches and such.
Helmet (s): Med Alert wears a helmet which provides him intensity 8, or +2, protection against head shots in general. It also has a flashlight built in (intensity 5 illumination) and a radio transceiver with intensity 1 range, or 1 mile - enough to connect with teammates easily.
Knife (s): handy if you need to cut something - or someone - in the field, carrying a blade on the GI Joe team is standard practice. Med Alert can either use this sharp implement to inflict +2 slashing damage in melee, or to cut through items of up to its m.s., which is 13.
Sidearm (a): an item you normally see on GI Joe medics even though they're often pacifists, Med Alert can wield this weapon well in combat. He can discharge one round with it to inflict his Agility +4 in damage, or a small burst of such to inflict his Agility +5 in damage.
Shotgun (a): Med Alert inexplicably carries this weapon on the job, which can inflict his Agility +4 in damage in a sixty degree arc when firing birdshot, his Agility +5 in damage to adjacent foes when firing buckshot, or his Agility +6 in damage to one person when firing slugs.
Skills:
First Aid (i): a combat medic, Med Alert knows how to keep people alive. His precision care will cease the dying process in individuals, restore one card of lost health immediately, and (along with his Medicine skill) lets him revive anyone who has fallen during the current encounter.
Guns (a): though he's a practitioner of a decidedly defensive martial art, Med Alert is also very well-versed in the practice of gunplay. Whenever wielding a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, Med Alert does so at a reduced difficulty.
Hurling (a): Med Alert is a master of Tai Chi Chuan, and specializes in using the art in a defensive manner. This allows him to redirect incoming melee harm however he likes, upon a successful, average intensity Agility (agility) action.
Medicine (i): working in an emergency room before enlisting, Med Alert naturally has this skill. This allows him to restore one card of lost Health to someone who fell unconscious in the previous exchange, as well as the performance of more serious operations (though not in the field)!
Military / United States (w): though it was not his first career choice, Med Alert has embraced the military lifestyle completely. Thanks to his training, he can function seamlessly in a martial environment, and he can recite the SOP in his sleep.
Contacts:
As a member of the GI Joe team, Med Alert can naturally rely upon them for assistance should he only ask; he's saved the lives of several of them, after all. Furthermore, he can count several additional military and medical folks (unidentified as yet) as reliable contacts as well.
Calling:
Soldier: Med Alert has always wanted to save lives, but he found that his work as an emergency room doctor just wasn't 'important' enough. Enlisting in the military seems to have given him what he was looking for, as the man thrives in an active combat environment.
Costume:
Med Alert wears a conspicuous uniform as a GI Joe field medic. It includes an orange jacket beneath white belts and web gear, orange trousers beneath white belts and equipment holsters, white leather gloves, brown leather boots, black knee pads, and his black helmet.
Personality:
Kirk has a whole lot of experience with chaos and calamity, which is why he so easily keeps his cool when others around him lose it. Whether he's getting a dressing down from a drill Sergeant or treating a wounded soldier in the field, Kirk always keeps his wits about him.

Story:
Med Alert went about his career in a manner opposite the usual manner. He went to medical school and got his degree easily enough, and did some time working in the emergency room of various hospitals. Apparently Med Alert needed a change, however, and thus enlisted in the Army.
Naturally, the man was put to use as a combat medic, and he's shown time and time again that he's more than willing to run into a firefight to collect and/or treat his patient. It was one such patient that introduced the man to the art of Tai Chi Chuan.
Using it to help himself heal, this patient intrigued Med Alert. As such, the man looked into the matter, and ultimately began training in the art while not on duty. He's become so good at the art of his choice over the years that he makes a good martial arts instructor for others.
Of course, it doesn't hurt that he can use his skills to turn his enemy's own energies against them. Seeing that he was developing into a soldier of great and versatile skill, the recruiters for the GI Joe team came calling upon Med Alert one day, and he was quickly brought onto the team.
Once he made it in, he made it a point to share his knowledge with his fellow Joes, though people weren't too keen on the idea of hanging with Med Alert and his 'serene' class until they watched the man take a Cobra Viper apart with his bare hands. Now, there's a bit more interest.
The Joes are resourceful folks, after all, and if offered yet another tool with which to pummel a terrorist senseless, they'll jump on it in a heartbeat. So Med Alert helps to mentor Joes during their downtime, and patches them up while they're in the field.
You can see why they can't help but like the guy!
