Issue 10:
Hour of Corruption

Hidden deep inside a base within the Winterlands, Damon Conquest bragged to his 'Dad', Daedalus Darquill, that tonight was the night. He went over his recent machinations against Tensen, and proclaimed that he would end the man's threat imminently. Before he could continue, however, Conquest was interrupted by the leader of Darquill's evil forces, the monstrous general known only as Malakite.

Stating that his subordinates were assembled at the border to the land of Spring, Malakite proclaimed he only needed a final infusion of the bleak power Conquest specailizes in to launch their final assault on their enemies. Informing him that he would collect and dispense it tonight, Conquest dismissed Malakite, and then begged his father for his approval. And, as it turned out, Darquill was most pleased.

On earth, Tensen had just judged another drug dealer, vaporizing him with his sword hand. Feeling empty, however, Tensen continued to ruminate on recent events, and how he wished he could return home to deliver justice to Rebecca's ostensible killers. As he did so, Tensen was observed from the Far Side, Conquest scrying on him with his powers, and the villain showed Rebecca her true and final enemy at long last.

Fully twisted beyond recogniztion by his corruptive powers, Rebecca stated she had nothing but hate for Tensen. When pressed by Conquest, she revealed that she had full possession of her memories now, and didn't mind that her thoughts have been twisted by the denizens of the Winterlands. No, she only worshiped power now, and craved more - which she had been promised after she vanquished Tensen once and for all.

Reaching out with his powers, Conquest pried an opening between worlds, and fired a projectile into Tensen's back. Seizing him and thrusting him into the desert, Conquest gave Tensen time to adjust to his new surroundings, and then sent another minion to face him. This man was Klane, the Dark Justice, a former Justice Warrior whose lust for power drew him to the Winterlands... and to Daedalus Darquill.

The two sparred verbally for a few moments, before their spat became physical. Though he feared Klane by reputation alone, Tensen did not give an inch, only pausing in his efforts when Klane wrapped a so-called night caul around his head. A gift from his evil masters, this darkness feeds on the fears and nightmares of whoever it comes in contact with, and Klane prevented Tensen from yanking it off prematurely.

When Klane taunted Tensen about Rebecca, Tensen recovered from the night caul and assaulted the Dark Justice anew. As the two battled furiously in the desert, they were observed from the Far Side by Kabor, a minion of Conquest that waited for Tensen's corruption to be complete. Aiming a massive collector at him from across dimensions, the mad doctor prepared to absorb that corruption for his master.

Assuming his victory was assured, Conquest returned to earth, calling Danielle Towson to have her use her contacts to end the government's hunt for Tensen. He knew the man was doomed, and didn't feel the need to waste any more effort against him on earth. Though she insisted she couldn't manage that as a mere defense attorney, Conquest proclaimed that someone with her particular skills should do just fine.

Continuing to taunt Tensen, Klane revealed that Rebecca was not only still alive, but now the eager lover of Damon Conquest. Reaching out with both his sword and his shield simultaneously, Tensen ripped Klane apart, collapsing from the effort afterwards. Just then, Conquest sent Rebecca back to earth, where she also taunted the weakened Justice Warrior. Looking at her, Tensen saw her aura was corrupt as well.

As he passed out, Rebecca scoffed at her 'greatest' foe. Though she was sent to kill him for Darquill, Rebecca simply left him to die in the desert, not thinking him worth the effort of a single bullet. Drawn back to the Far Side, she bore witness to Conquest feasting upon the negative emotional energy mined from Tensen's corruption, and the villains prepared to end the land of Spring once and for all!

Issue 11:
Desert Resurrection

Drifting aimlessly in the desert after his fierce battle with Dark Justice, Tensen was on the verge of collapse from both his wounds and heat exhaustion. Though his agony only increased as he trod under the harsh desert sun, each step seemingly making it worse, Tensen refused to give up even though he felt he had utterly failed everyone he cared about. Tensen knew that by killing Klane in anger, his corruption was complete.

Almost delirious, Tensen was shocked when he suddenly spied his king's vizier, Webstral, in the distance! Thinking it naught but an illusion, Tensen's notion about Webstral was put to rest by the vizier when he addressed the man. Having crossed universes to find him, Webstral burdened Tensen further by detailing the horrors that had been visited upon the land of Spring thanks to Tensen's actions.

Blaming Tensen for the fall of Spring, the death of its king, and the enslavement of its people, Webstral then shared visions of Damon Conquest and Rebecca Chambers exulting in the death of his nation. To drive the point home, he revealed that Conquest had taken queen Endolana captive, stripped her bare, and intended to use her as nothing more than a broodmare to continue his family line.

But Webstral had one last thing to say to Tensen, charging him with the salvation of the land of Spring, or at least what was left of it. Sacrificing his very life, Webstral purged the corruption that had been plaguing Tensen since he first began his affair with Endolana. Though Tensen was still weak, he now knew that in time his many woulds would heal once more, and he would live to defeat the Winterlands!

Roaming back towards civilization, Tensen sought shelter to give himself time to recover from his many ordeals in the desert, and found it in a small town gas station. There, he grabbed the phone, but wasn't sure who to call at this point. Dropping the device, Tensen spotted them at last: Hounds! Different than those he'd encountered before, these beasts had auras to call their own, as black as their master's.

Prompting the proprietor of the gas station to flee, Tensen let muscle memory take over, allowing him to combat his foes despite the agony that every momement elicited in him. His powers still weak from his recent ordeals, Tensen simply beat one of the Hounds to death with his bare hands, though he fled knowing more were coming. Taking a chance, he attempted to blast an oil barrel behind him, destroying the other Hounds.

Drifting off, Tensen made his way through the small town he'd found himself in, only to eventually get rousted by crooked cops. Apparently indifferent to the large explosion he'd caused, they felt the need to bully him, thinking him a homeless man and an easy target. Fleeing them as well, his every step causing overwhelming pain, Tensen ultimately had to braindish his powers against the vile law enforcers.

Not trusing his sword hand just yet, Tensen instead used his shield hand to trip up the corrupt police officers, and continued on his way. Finding a truck nearby, Tensen broke into the back of it, and beyond all reason managed to find the vehicle full of cushions and the furniture they belonged to. Hiding within the trailer, Tensen stretched out and allowed himself, at long last, to sleep.

As he lay prone in the truck, Tensen's mind repeatedly drifted back to recent events, replaying his encounter with Webstral all the while. Plagued by nightmares from the land of Spring and what Webstral had shown him of his home's fate, Tensen nonetheless woke when the truck he was hiding within came to a stop, having recovered much of his strength during the journey. He had no idea where he was, though.

Waiting for the driver to leave, Tensen exited the trailer and looked about, a nearby newspapaer telling him he'd returned to Los Angeles once more. Getting his bearings, as he recalled this was where he first did battle with Damon Conquest, Tensen was accosted by two goons in the alley he'd found himself within. Seeing their auras were as dark as Conquest's, Tensen reached out and vaporized them without hesitation.

Feeling he was near his full strength once more, Tensen felt his time had finally come.

Issue 12:
To Protect and Serve

At the scene of a mass shooting, Tensen investigated the atrocity before him. He'd been following the homicidal antics of a murderous couple, as revealed by the local newspaper. Scoffing at the dark humor in the front page headlines talking about their spree, he looked on as the police investigated the latest incident. Though he had more important things to do, Tensen found himself interested in earth justice.

Being trapped on earth, with no way to return to the conquered land of Spring until the wizards of the Winterlands made their next move against him, Tenesn thought he should observe how the law was enforced on our world. His intense interest did not go unnoticed, however, for an FBI operative investigating this interstate mass murder spree thought he was more than a little conspicuous amongst their observers.

After shrugging off the insipid questions of the various media hounds accosting him, Agent Kurtz was alerted to Tensen's presence by his partner. Approaching him, Kurtz questioned Tensen about his presence, at which point the offworld vigilante proclaimed he was interested in seeing the guilty get what they deserve. Not needing any of this hogwash, Kurtz told Tensen to get lost, lest he find himself behind bars.

Waiting until the police and the media faded away, Tensen broke into the crime scene and did his own investigation. Finding a note left by the murderers, Tensen realized they were just just getting started. As such, he sought out arms dealers across the city, looking for clues to his quarries' next target. On his fourth stop, Tensen hit paydirt, and found the supplier of their many, many lethal weapons.

Learning they were headed to a nearby McDonalds for fries, amongst other things, Tensen rushed off to stop the couple before they could kill again. Finding Kurtz there as he arrived, still unaware of what was transpiring inside, Tensen found himself momentarily held at gunpoint. Needing to save lives, however, Tensen shoved Kurtz aside and rushed into the restaurant, though his targets were already busy.

Reaching out with his shield hand, Tensen tried to save everyone in the restaurant from the bombs the murderous couple he hunted had flung into the crowd. Though the blast knocked him out, Tensen nonetheless managed to save several people. Waking up in an ambulance, Tensen staggered out despite the protests of the paramedic treating him, only to be accosted by Agent Kurtz once again.

Distracted when the killers chucked Kurtz's dead partner out the window of the McDonalds lobby, Kurtz tried to negotiate with the criminals inside, who had taken six hostages. Tensen wasn't waiting for them to see reason, though, for he knew they never would. Hijacking a police van, he drove it through what was left of the building's windows, and herded the hostages inside before they could be struck down.

Looking upon their abductors with his aura sight, Tensen saw how dark their souls were, and knew they would attempt to kill him with explosives again. Shielding himself and the hostages with his powers once more, Tensen saved their lives... though the perpetrators escaped again. While he didn't get Tensen's whole deal, Agent Kurtz was happy he saved the hostages' lives, so he let Tensen walk away this time.

Tensen wasn't ready to leave just yet, though. Searching the crowd with his aura sight, he spied no sign of the architects of the night's mayhem. While they had escaped, Tensen knew how to track them down. Once they stopped at their arms dealer again, Tensen learned where they were headed next, and made sure he arrived first this time. Paying off the chef of the diner he'd arrived at, Tensen posed as the man.

Waiting for them to come to him, Tensen whirled on the murderous couple and vaporized them in an instant, leaving little but ash remaining of their corporeal existence. Though Agent Kurtz would never find his targets, much less put them to trial, Tensen made sure they faced his own brand of law enforcement. Glowering at their smoldering remains, Tensen proclaimed, once again, that he was JUSTICE.
