Drone Assault Vehicle, Mark 3 (Behemoth)

A weapon of war, the Behemoth was meant to be the next generation of battle tanks; however, several peculiar engineering shortfalls prevented the model from taking off. Though government contractors, the engineers of Krotze International are likely to cover these in the next model. The Behemoth tank is fitted with the following devices and abilities:

Gd 10

Rm 30

(nobody rides inside)

Armor: one of the most notable features of the Behemoth tank is its glossy black metal shell. This shell provides the tank Remarkable (30) protection from harm, which is padded and insulated enough to spread this protection equally versus both physical and energy damage. As such, it has the following modifiers against the various attack forms:

Rm 30 / Rm 30 / Pr 4 / Sh 0 / Sh 0

Camouflage Paint: the glossy black paint job of the Behemoth tank is quite dark. In fact, in Dark conditions, opponents must make an Intuition FEAT roll at a -3 CS to even see it. Of course, the tank is still audible (makes lots of noise), so people can probably sense it coming, thus the Behemoth may well do best while lying in wait.

Machine Guns: the secondary weapons of the Mark 3 Drone Assault Vehicle, these top-mounted firearms complement the main cannon by disposing of human targets and small vehicles that attempt to battle the Behemoth (or slice its fiber optic tether). They inflict Excellent (20) Shooting damage with each short, controlled strike, raised by +1 CS when fired fully automatic.

Main Cannon: the primary weapon of the Mark 3 Drone Assault Vehicle, this barrel can deliver an Amazing (50) amount of death upon its targets with each deadly shot, which inflicts Shooting (fragmentary) damage with each strike. This weapon is usually reserved for primary targets on missions, or extremely dangerous opponents (such as someone using a MAX suit).

Missile Launchers: the Mark 3 Drone Assault Vehicle is armed with two separate missile launchers, both mounted on the turret, flanking the main cannon itself. It can fire multiple missiles at once, each doubling of such increasing their net damage by +1 CS. These miniature missiles have the following vehicular characteristics:

C
Ex 20
S
Am 50
B
Gd 10
Damage
Excellent (20) Edged Attack (fragmentary)

Remote Control: The most interesting feature of the Behemoth, however, is that it is piloted from a distance by remote control. There is nobody inside the tank driving it, and there is no radio transceiver broadcasting directions back and forth; it's all done via fiber optic tether, which is virtually invisible (unless one is looking for it, of course).

The trick with the Behemoth, and the cause of its eventual defeat at Spitfire's hands, is that there is no backup for the tether; sure, the fiber optic line is practically invisible, but it can be cut by opponents on purpose or incidentally, and if this happens, the Behemoth is dead in the water, uncontrollable by anybody. Smooth engineering move, that.
