Origin:

Unlike many members of the Jensen Congress, Mack 066 actually has some measure of super-powers. A student of his world's Zen Hell-Kites, Mack has the ability to enter their feared battle trance, and is considerably resistant to empathic attack even when he's not scrapping!

Known Powers:

Believer Psionics (Metapsionic Powers):

Invulnerability Aura (a): when Mack finds himself in combat, mortal or otherwise, he may forego his standard empathic resistance. This is replaced with his so-called 'battle trance', which gives Mack complete immunity to all empathic assaults entirely!

Resistance Aura (s): when not actively in battle, Mack nonetheless has significant resistance to empathic powers. This power functions at Mack's Intuition (awr) +4 CS - which is Incredible (40) ranked resistance for this former Ranger.

Limitations / Enhancements:

(none)

Equipment:

Betsy: though Betsy looks like all of Mack's other M9 bayonets, the truth is that 'she' is much more expensive. Made from Invium, a Shift Y (200) m.s. metal, Betsy has a slightly different weight - and can cut through much harder materials (though 'she' still inflicts the same damage).

Force Field Buckle: worn on his old Army belt, this seemingly oversized belt buckle - of Mike 002's design - generates an incredibly effective force field to defend Mack 066 from injury! This Remarkable (30) ranked barrier protects him as follows:

Ex 20 / Rm 30 / Pr 4 / Sh 0 / Sh 0

M4 A1 Carbine: though the Congress possesses laser weaponry, Mack prefers this weapon by far. He can use this gas-operated, air-cooled, magazine-fed, selective fire weapon to discharge one round, inflicting Typical (6) Shooting damage, +1 CS in a short burst, or +2 CS fully automatic.

Mack's carbine is equipped with an M320 underslung grenade launcher, a single load launcher with a 4 area range. This unit fires shells which inflict Remarkable (30) Edged Attack damage to all uncovered targets within the area in which they detonate.

This weapon also has the Aimpoint ™ CompM4 sight mounted on top, which can be used to add a +1 CS to aiming / ambush attempts. It also possesses a red dot targeting system which offers a similar bonus even when one cannot take the time to perform a proper aiming maneuver.

M9 Bayonet: whether or not he attaches this item to his M4 A1 Carbine, Mack can use it to inflict Edged Attack damage in melee. In fact, Mack likes these Incredible (40) m.s. weapons so much that he usually carries at least two on his person at all times!

The Transfinitron: built for his personal use by Mike 013, this device allows Mack 066 access to any number of alternate timelines. While Mack mostly just uses this item to cross from his timeline to Earth Zero, he could journey to many other earths if he simply wished to.

This oversized device can pierce the 5th dimensional veil with Incredible (40) ability. It can store any number of destination timelines in its memory - once they've been found, at least. Of course, it can always just pierce one randomly if desired - if only for Science!

Quirks:

Fighting Logistics: his intense combat indoctrination has given Mack 066 an extremely tactical mind - even if only subconsciously. After 1d10 rounds of combat with a foe (not turns), he receives a +1 CS to all subsequent Fighting FEAT rolls made against said opponent.

Talents:

Guns: an essential skill Mack mastered within the Army, he can fire most modern firearms with ease. Whether wielding a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, Mack may fire such weapons as if his Agility was +1 CS higher than is indicated above.

Martial Arts types A, B, C and E: Mack gains a +1 CS to hit in unarmed combat, doing so with a +1 initiative modifier. Furthermore, he can Slam or Stun foes regardless of their comparative Strength or Endurance, and gains a +1 CS when dodging, escaping, grappling, or weaving.

Military / United States: Mack got his start in the United States Army. A former Ranger, Mack knows the ins and outs of military protocol and procedure like the back of his hand (either one), and can lead or function within a combat unit with ease.

Skill / Knives: upon joining up with the Zen Hell-Kites, Mack 066 decided to specialize in knife combat - on top of extending his unarmed melee prowess. He may attack with these short blades as if his Fighting (off) was +1 CS higher than is listed above.

Survival: thanks to extensive training by the Army Rangers, Mack can readily get by in almost any situation - even if he finds himself without supplies. He can readily produce enough food, water and shelter to persist in almost any environment on earth!

Weapon Specialist / Betsy: 'Betsy' is a particularly expensive, custom-made M9 bayonet that Mack had made. He can wield this specific knife at an additional +2 CS, and gains the benefit of a +1 initiative modifier when doing so.

Contacts:

As the physical combat instructor the entire Jensen Congress relies upon, Mack 066 is on pretty good terms with the entire group. He can also count any number of Army Rangers and Zen Hell-Kites from his world as reliable contacts as well, since he's worked with them for quite a while.

Costume:

Mack doesn't bother with clothes much these days. He tends to wear a pair of camouflage Army pants, well-shined black leather Army boots, a black leather belt with his force field buckle on it, various straps to hold his gear and, if feeling oddly modest, a white tank top.

Personality:

Mack is body proud and incredibly confident - but then, he's got the skills, conditioning and experience to back that attitude up. He tends to look upon his fellow Congressmen and Congresswomen as his little brothers and sisters, since most of them are practically useless in a fight.

Save for the skills he works hard to teach them, that is!

Story:

Mack Jensen is a former Army Ranger who, though he debated a career in science while in high school, instead opted for something more practical in life. He assumed that the Army would give him the training to go places, or at the very least, fund college through the G.I. Bill.

During his time in the military, Mack became incredibly huge, using the opportunity to perfect his body as much as possible - all the while training his mind how to deal with any number of adverse situations. In time however, Mack decided he'd had enough of being told what to do.

Leaving the service after a decade (give or take), Mack pondered using his G.I. Bill money right away, but instead decided to walk the earth for a time, enjoying his newly found freedom. During this walkabout, Mack was hospitalized during a terrorist bombing he'd bumbled into.

Luckily for Mack, he suffered no permanent injury. However, he was severely burned on his back, and spent several months recovering in a foreign hospital. During this time, Mack intimately and intently planned his vengeance on the thugs who claimed responsibility for his pain.

Once he was released from the hospital, Mack called in some markers from fellow Rangers stationed somewhat near his targets, and acquired all the weaponry and supplies he'd need. He then left friendly territory to seek out his targets in the wilds of Pakistan.

Waging a one-man war on the thugs who injured him and killed several other innocents, Mack ultimately dealt with every last member of the splinter cell of the vile terrorist organization that had done him wrong. Of course, he'd acquired several more serious wounds in the process.

Slowly ambling back towards friendly territory, Mack passed out from blood loss, and may well have died if not for the intervention of a strange warrior-monk. Having observed Mack's one-man war first-hand, this curious onlooker decided that the world had better things in store for him.

Waking up in a Tibetan monastery, Mack immediately went on the offensive - though he was quickly calmed down by the monk who'd saved him. This fellow, identifying himself as Master Smith, explained the state he'd found Mack in... and that he'd drug him all the way there from Pakistan.

Thanking Smith for his rescue, Mack was then surprised to receive an offer to join his secret order of master combatants: the Zen Hell-Kites! Curious what they were all about, Mack agreed to join the group, and was quickly overwhelmed by the staggering training all Hell-Kites endure.

His earlier training with the United States Army greatly helped him to cope with this intense onslaught of physical punishment however, and Mack quickly grew to excel in a variety of armed and unarmed fighting styles. As it turned out, Master Smith had chosen Mack wisely.

Once his training was complete, Mack was released back into the world, and he eventually drifted back towards the States. However, he never quite managed to get there, as Mack was tracked down out of the blue... by a strange, skinny version of what seemed to be himself!

This strange man, introducing himself as Mike Jensen, proclaimed that he was a variant earth counterpart of Mack, and that he wanted Mack to join a group of his fellow Jensens from across the multiverse! Thinking this a joke, Mack told Mike thanks, but no thanks. He had things to do!

Of course, Mack didn't really, and Mike apparently knew of this somehow. Convincing Mack of the truth of his words by showing his Transfinitron in action, Mike shuffled Mack to a place he called Earth Zero - the home of a group he'd formed known as the Jensen Congress!

Mack subsequently met a wide variety of himself, from many variant earths. Some were male, some were female, and most of them seemed to be a lot smaller than he. That was when Mike explained why he needed Mack: for all their scientific prowess, the Congress lacked physical muscle.

And Mack, with both his Army and Hell-Kite training, would be a perfect addition to the group. Thus, Mack ultimately decided to join the Congress as Mike wished, acquiring the designation of Mack 066, and would provide combat training to the Congress as they needed.

In exchange, of course, for riches aplenty... and education in whatever mad science he felt like pursuing. Hey, it beat an office job!
