Faazel Kukukhel, the Enigmagic Man, has developed ascendant powers through multiple sources. He is primarily a sorcerer, a man who has studied obscure occult knowledge long and hard to master its inherent power, but has also developed a few belief-based psionics as well.

Known Powers:

Believer Psionics (Superpsi Powers):

Ability Boost (s): Faazel has come to believe in Tredecuplethink's philosophy about ascending via the combination of thought and action into one. This has had the effect of granting him the Remarkable (30) ability boost skill, which can increase any one ability score for 1d10 turns.

Believer Psionics (Psipathic Powers):

Clarity (t): similarly, Tredecuplethink's belief that the mind should be free of external influence to make its own decisions has particularly resonated within Faazel. As a result, he has also manifested this Incredible (40) ranked skill, which lets him accomplish just that.

Schooling: Disciple / Eclectic Magic:

As one could guess from Faazel's unique disposition, he wasn't too inclined to indoctrinate himself into any one path of power over another. Thus, he eschews schools of magic altogether, despite the increased difficulty in doing so, and has learned these spells so far:

Body Armor (p): whenever he feels remotely threatened, Faazel may conjure forth a glowing, cyan suit of armor around his body. This mystical energy construct provides him Remarkable (30) protection from injury, a defensive capability that breaks down as follows:

Eldritch Bolt / Spectral Flames (u): the cyan flames that Faazel can generate when invoking this spell may look otherworldly, but then that's just what they are. These moaning, baying flames inflict Remarkable (30) PS Karmic damage with every distressing assault.

Mystic Servant (d): Faazel's transient, temporary minions are small, imp-like cyan beings comprised solely of psychoplasm. Thanks to this Remarkable (30) ranked spell, they possess a similarly powerful Aura / Spectral Flames, as well as the ability of Flight.

Passing (g): each day, Faazel may choose any one of these Excellent (20) ranked spells, after which he may wield it as he sees fit - though the others are then off-limits. They include: Admittance, Astral Projection, Density Control / Self, Intangibility, Transformation.

Computer Link (s): though he does not really understand the finer points of computer technology, Faazel may link his mind with such devices supernaturally. He may do this with Good (10) skill, allowing him to extract all manner of data from the things.

Limitations / Enhancements:

Lightning Dragon: a mystic artifact of a more recent era, this weapon is a heavily enchanted dragon (one-handed blunderbuss). It is ensorcelled to emit a lightning bolt of ice when fired, instead of the normal shot, which inflicts Incredible (40) Stunning Energy damage.

Abnormal Attribute: the victim of Probability Fallout after a vicious Society assault, Faazel is somewhat deformed. His left arm is now of a bright cyan hue, and heavily misshapen, looking somewhat chunky in nature. It still works normally, however.

Learned Resistance / Probability Fallout: thanks to repeated exposures to irresponsible Society magics, some of which have left him deformed, Faazel has developed something of a resistance to them. He should receive a +1 CS to FEATs intended to shrug off the effects of PF.

Loner: while he readily helps others, whether or not they're his fellow Anthropists, Faazel isn't really a team player. He must pass a Psyche (will) FEAT at -2 CS when surrounded by people, lest he endure a like penalty on all actions for the duration of their presence.

Stubborn: perhaps the trait that ultimately set him against every authority he's ever encountered his entire life, Faazel is the embodiment of intransigence. Once he's made up his mind, he must pass a Psyche (will) FEAT at -2 CS to reconsider his position. On anything.

Languages / English, Farsi, French, Nepali, Pashto, and Tibetan: having wandered widely in his youth on a search for knowledge, Faazel was forced to master several tongues throughout the lands he passed through. He can speak, read, and write in all these languages.

Lore: a student of the occult, Faazel has researched several of the bizarre and inexplicable things that man was not meant to know. His Reason in occult matters should be considered +1 CS in rank, whether related to obscure knowledge or current events.

A stalwart member of the Anthropy Society, Faazel has proven himself to his fellows time and time again, and most of them owe the man at least one favor. Anthropists readily grow enemies, but have difficulty making friends, so each would likely return said favors when asked.

Furthermore, Faazel has numerous, as of yet undeclared contacts of a sorcerous nature. He has taken it upon himself to actively oppose the Society of Explicated Brethren, after his personal experiences with the group, and has assisted others in eluding their hoary grasp.

Most of the time, Faazel wears an expensive black suit, one with a generous cut on the jacket to make his left arm more comfortable. He accentuates this extravagant suit with cyan leather shoes, a cyan leather belt, a cyan tie, a cyan sash, and a cyan turban.

A stubborn individualist, Faazel refuses to take anything at face value. Unless circumstances prevent it, he always verifies what he is told himself, for he refuses to be led astray by others' lies again. Faazel is possibly one of the most fierce debaters you'll ever meet.

Real Name: Faazel Kukukhel
Occupation: adventurer
Legal Status: citizen of Afghanistan with a considerable criminal record there, but considering the law there, this isn't surprising.
Marital Status: single
Alias(es), if any: none
Group Affiliation: the Anthropy Society

Height: 5' 7"
Hair: black
Eyes: brown
Weight: 150 lbs
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Faazel's left arm has been forever scarred after a vicious Society attack. While it still works, the flesh is chunky, lumpy, and looks heavily deformed. He also wears a full, long beard and moustache.

Born and raised in heavily repressive Afghanistan, a nation torn by warfare between differing groups his entire life, Faazel quickly grew tired of doing what others told him to. He wanted to choose for himself what to think, what to believe, and what to do with his life.

As the fanatic Taliban began to take control with the withdraw of the Soviet Union, Faazel made his way out of his homeland, finding himself journeying deep into the mountains to the northwest. His trek ultimately saw Faazel trundling into the sparsely populated land of Nepal.

There, Faazel ambled about for a few years, seeking knowledge in a land that wouldn't chop bits off of his body for having the temerity to seek enlightenment. In time, he eventually found his way to a highly obscure monastery, where he finally met the man destined to change his life.

Trained for several years by his thaumaturgical guru, Faazel mastered several powerful magical spells, and learned much about the world and his place in it. Once he had gained that knowledge, he returned home to war with the Taliban for a time, hoping to liberate friends and family.

While quite powerful, the simple truth is that Faazel was more than outnumbered. Captured by his archenemies, Faazel was to be put to death for the crime of sorcery, but he was rescued at the last minute by operatives from none other than the Society of Explicated Brethren!

Grateful for the rescue, Faazel went along with his liberators, only to quickly find that they weren't the wonderful human beings that he'd initially imagined. Breaking from the pack of Brethren that was minding him, Faazel discovered that they were following him everywhere he went.

Realizing they were unlikely to take no for an answer, regarding their invitation to their group, Faazel decided they were about as bad as the Taliban he hated so much. Thus, he turned the tables on his pursuers, and slew them to the man before they knew what hit them.

Using what he'd learned about them thus far, Faazel has hunted down Brethren at every opportunity ever since. He's rescued countless magicians from their diabolical clutches, and made something of an enemy of that organization. And he was just getting started!

Following one branch of the Brethren to America, Faazel encountered them in a fight with a member of the Anthropy Society - specifically, the Tredecuplethink. Once he'd defeated her sorcerous foes, Tredecuplethink introduced herself, and explained why the Brethren attacked her.

Realizing she was representative of the kind of free thinker he'd sought out all his life, Faazel asked to hear more about her pet philosophy, and thus became an Anthropist himself in short order. In fact, he's something of a disciple of Tredecuplethink's particular humanist thoughts.

But that hasn't stopped him from his mission of destroying the Brethren. No, he constantly seeks them out, which is rather easy these days. Using the Internet, he's able to sift through global reports of weird happenings that can be attributed to them, and then investigate from there.

Not that he knows the first thing about computers. But his magic has helped him solve that little conundrum quite handily!
