Origin:
Janet was an incredibly normal human until she inexplicably manifested a natural psionic ability. She has since developed her psionic potential, not to mention her physical potential, to serve as a vigilante working for two different groups of such!
Known Powers:
Natural Psionics (Psipathic Powers):
Sleep (t): her sole natural psionic, this psipathic talent allows Janet to render everyone within her current sector unconscious. This power only works on eye contact, but will drop its targets into a slumber for 1d10 turns if they fail a Willpower ACT against its rank value of 50.
Trained Psionics (Psipathic Powers, Traditional Student):
Telepathy (a): since she already showed a predisposition for telepathic abilities, Mindwatch initially trained Janet in this core psipathic power (once they helped her master her sleep power). She can currently wield this art at rank value 10.
Lie Detection (s): one power that is integral to Janet's intelligence gathering work is her ability to detect when she is being lied to. She need not roll an ACT to determine the truth with this rank value 20 power unless her target is actively hiding his or her thoughts.
Psychic Invisibility (a): aiding her subversive work considerably, this art allows Janet to force others to disregard sensory input that would register her presence. This rank value 30 power is great for situations where her sleep ability is somewhat impractical.
Limitations / Enhancements:
(none)
Equipment:
Communication Earpieces: the D.A.A. often makes use of encrypted wireless transceivers to synchronize activities in the field. D.A.A. earpiece communicators (with sub-vocalization options) have rank value 4 range - 5 miles - and have encryption of rank value 30 complexity wired in.
Plasteel Mini-Cannon: this high tech toy, given to Janet by her D.A.A. minder, is built for stealth. A semi-automatic firearm made from a futuristic plastic, and built to fold into a simple, small rectangle, Janet can slip this baby into almost any secured location.
It can be fired to inflict rank value 6 Piercing damage in a single shot, or if she's feeling particularly frisky, its damage may be raised +1 RS when fired semi-automatic. The latter forces a red m.v. check (material value 20) to avoid damage, as the heat generated can damage this weapon.
Quirks:
Action Addict: due to her utterly boring upbringing, Janet has become an action nut - she's always doing something dangerous... or at least risky. She must pass a Willpower ACT at a -2 RS if caught in a boring situation to avoid fidgeting and whining about it.
Should this state of affairs continue for a considerable amount of time (which, to Janet, may not be all that long, really), Janet must pass a second Willpower ACT, this time at -4 RS, to avoid wandering off in search of adventure - should she even want to resist the urge.
Skills:
Guns: a part of Janet's D.A.A. training has involved her getting intimately familiar with most modern firearms in use around the world - and beyond. She can fire any non-energy rifle or pistol as though her Coordination was +1 RS higher than is listed above.
Martial Arts styles B and E: both vigilante groups Janet belongs to have trained her to fight. Mindwatch taught Janet how to connect in battle, giving her a +1 RS to all unarmed attacks, while the D.A.A. taught her to fight fast, giving her a +1 initiative modifier when fighting unarmed.
Trance: Janet has been trained by Mindwatch to play dead. She can enter a deep meditative trance that allows her to lower her heart and respiration rate to the point that, to the untrained eye, she appears deceased - seeing through this deception requires a blue Awareness ACT roll.
Contacts:
Janet is a member of both the Direct Action Americans and Mindwatch, two vigilante organizations that have a tendency to engage in over the top interventions to fulfill their aims. This suits Janet perfectly, and since she excels in this area, both groups appreciate her membership.
Costume:
Janet wears Spandex ™ outfits while on the job. She favors darker colors, using black stretch fabric pants and a black stretch fabric tank top. She complements this with brown leather boots and a brown leather jacket with an American flag airbrushed on the back.
While on a Mindwatch mission, Janet will also don their trademark badge, a holographic image of an eye, one that betrays the image of a brain at odd angles. When working for the Direct Action Americans, on the other hand, Janet just pulls her hair into a red, white and blue bandana.
Personality:
Janet is the epitome of the short attention span. Having been bored to near-madness by her mundane origins, Janet's manifestation of her sole natural psi power opened more than one door in her mind, and when this happened she vowed to never be bored again - no matter what.
This causes her to spring into action at a moment's notice, and she generally avoids making detailed plans of any stripe. A surprising level of improvisational ability has allowed her to not only survive when in a crisis of her own devising, but to thrive under such conditions!

Story:
Janet grew up in an otherwise normal home, if you don't count the mind-boggling antics of her sister, Annie. She had an essentially normal childhood, went to an ordinary school, and even thought about attending an average college. Things didn't work out that way for Janet, though.
You see, while everything in her life was absolutely bland in nature, something bizarre happened in Janet's mind, something truly unusual in scope. In short, without any outside help or training, or even the desire for it, Janet naturally manifested the psionic ability to put people to sleep.
She didn't quite know what was up at first, since people she was talking to would just pass out on her; she thought that maybe she was just REALLY boring. But it only happened on eye contact, as phone conversations went on uninterrupted, as did those where she blindfolded herself.
Before too long, Janet was approached by Mindwatch, a group of psionic vigilantes who wanted to train her in the use of her powers. They wanted her to work for them as well, but Janet didn't mind, since she was tired of knocking everybody she wanted to talk to senseless.
So, Janet joined up with Mindwatch.
Within a few short months, Janet got her power under control. Shortly afterwards, Janet was also approached by the Direct Action Americans, who had also learned of her special power. Using their inherently patriotic sales pitch, they swayed Janet over to their way of thinking.
So, Janet joined up with the Direct Action Americans.
One would think this was a particularly harrowing decision, but the truth is that Mindwatch is a very flexible operation, and generally lets its members have their own life when they're not busting threats to psis and such - which just gives Janet more opportunities for adventure.
And that she has done plenty of. Training how to use her mind with Mindwatch and her body with the D.A.A., Janet has become quite the dangerous vigilante. While not ultra-violent, she tends to simply amble her way through one mission after the next, caring not for 'strategy'.
Though one would think this a recipe for disaster, Janet has managed to not only survive, but thrive in this manner - due to luck as well as her nifty powers. Of course, this has only fed her thirst for action and mayhem, which may eventually cause Janet to get in over her head...
