Origin:
Strong and hearty, the SAW-Vipers lug their heavy machine guns into battle for the benefit of their more lightly-armed fellows. Though they seem mightier than they ought to be, SAW-Vipers are but normal humans, only wielding conventional hardware in their terroristic crimes.

Equipment:
Heavy Machine Gun: hallmark of the SAW-Vipers, this weapon is a cryogenically cooled, gyro-stabilized mini-chain gun, which features an infrared scope equipped with an automatic range finder that allows it to be utilized at night, doing so with a +1 CS bonus to hit, at that.
When bringing this weapon to bear, a SAW-Viper may discharge a single round to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage, a short cycle of rounds to inflict Excellent (20) Shooting damage, or a continuous spread of leaden doom that will inflict Remarkable (30) Shooting damage.
Helmet: front-line combatants that are often targeted first by the Joes, SAW-Vipers wear a helmet to incease their survivability. These implements give their craniums Good (10) protection against physical attack, but feature numerous additional features.
These include a visor that provides their vision Screened Senses with like capability. Furthermore, they have a short-range communications system that only functions at Feeble (2) rank, but allows them to receive target orders from whoever's commanding their mission.
Kevlar Vest: improving their surviability as much as their helmets do, these vests transmute incoming Shooting damage into Blunt Attack damage, reducing its intensity by 1 CS in the process of doing so. Being shot in the chest may hurt a SAW-Viper, but won't be inherently deadly.
Knives: while they don't carry any other firearms to conserve their strength, SAW-Vipers do have two small blades handy. They can use these Remarkable (30) m.s. implements to either cut through items of up to like m.s., given enough time, or inflict Edged Attack in melee combat.

Talents:
Guns: all Cobra operatives have the ability to wield firearms in combat, and SAW-Vipers are no exception to this rule. They may discharge any standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol as if their Agility was +1 CS higher than is listed above.
Martial Arts type A or B: furthermore, SAW-Vipers are well-versed in the art of self-defense. They either wield type a, allowing them to Slam or Stun foes regardless of their comparative Strength or Endurance, or b, granting them a +1 CS to hit in unarmed combat.
Military: all Cobra operatives possess this talent, even if the organization they belong to isn't a real military. It nonetheless has a structure, however Byzantine, and SAW-Vipers are taught how to effectively fight in groups, if they somehow haven't been previously.
Contacts:
As Cobras who often come to the rescue of their fellows, SAW-Vipers likely enjoy the general favor of their compatriots. As far as the organization as a whole is concerned, Cobra may be considered a reliable contact as long as it is convenient for them to be one.
Costume:
The original SAW-Viper uniform is comprised of a black, long-sleeved shirt beneath a magenta vest, magenta trousers, Byzantium hip-hugger boots, Byzantium arm bands, black web gear and knife sheathes, and a Byzantium helmet with a green visor and black microphone.
Notes:
Those Cobras who are large and tough, but lack any other predilections, are often steered into the waiting arms of the SAW-Vipers. The only thing one must demonstrate to earn this position within the organization is the ability to haul a SAW-Viper's gear for long periods of time.
And their gear is bulky! This Cobra position is armed with a rotary-barrelled, cryogenically cooled, Squad Attack Weapon, along with a backpack full of heavy ammunition belts capable of feeding it for long periods of continuous fire, not to mention considerable protective gear.
Manage this and the SAW-Vipers will take you! On the job, SAW-Vipers fire their oversized weapons to whittle down particularly hard targets, or to provide cover for their fellows. Thus, they're allowed to expend copious amounts of expensive ammunition, which they need not pay for!
On the other hand, they are often the primary target of opposing forces. GI Joes in particular tend to focus their ire on SAW-Vipers, after one of these Cobras viciously gunned down seven of their number while they were being held prisoner during one particularly bloody mission.
And this is why they're generally popular amongst the teeming masses of Cobra operatives. A SAW-Viper on the field serves to either dish out ludicrous amounts of bullets at their foes, or soaks up a like amount of lead that could've been more evenly distributed.
