Cobra's 2003 Personnel and Equipment

Personnel:

Air-Vipers: the core of Cobra's air force, Air-Vipers are those pilots the organization has lured into its service. Whether highly skilled fighter pilots or washed out commercial operators, Air-Vipers either get good on the job or crash and burn. Availability:

AVACs: Air-Vipers, Advanced Class, or AVACs, are elite Cobra pilots that are seemingly fearless, and capable of performing advanced calculations in their head. Both qualities are vital if one wishes to pilot the so-called Pocket Rocket: the Firebat! Availability:

Alley-Vipers: Cobras who excel in urban combat, Alley-Vipers spearhead that organization's inner-city warfare initiatives. Strong, tough, and brutal, Alley-Vipers are notorious for the heinous crimes they commit while active in high population areas. Availability:

Battle Android Troopers: BATs are mass-produced in various Cobra factories, using mechanical components built in third world sweat shops, and factory seconds for microprocessors. Though dumb as hammers, BATs are heavily armed and dangerous! Availability:

Cobra Commander: Cobra's founder, its mysterious Commander began as an unsuccessful businessman who, after his paranoia told him that Big Government was out to crush the 'little guy', decided to forge a new system - one with him on the top! Availability:

Doctor Mindbender: formerly a mild-mannered orthodontist, Doctor Mindbender came into being after the man tested out brain-wave altering devices meant to alleviate dental pain on himself. His personality polarized, he became a literal mad scientist! Availability:

Firefly: a true artist of a saboteur, Firefly enjoys destroying all which is supposedly invulnerable. The adopted son of the Koga ninja clan, Firefly also takes great pride in never being seen before, during, or after he demolishes his targets! Availability:

Night Creepers: amoral contractors who often provide their services to Cobra, the Night Creepers are a deadly mystery. Investment bankers, mercenaries, burglars, and spies, this lethal band of high tech ninjas perform covert ops work for the Commander! Availability:

Overkill 1: a prototype Battle Android Trooper deemed far too expensive for mass production, the silicon entity who became Overkill languished on a shelf for years. Eventually, Overkill was put to use by Cobra Commander as the the BAT field commander! Availability:

Snow Serpents: Snow Serpents are Eels who've been extensively trained in cold weather operations, and are trained extensively in Arctic and Antarctic survival techniques. Capable of fighting on the ice or under the waves, Snow Serpents are intractable foes! Availability:

Tele-Vipers: vital cogs in Cobra operations, Tele-Vipers are the men and women who relay messages back and forth between the Cobra command and its subordinates. As such, it's rare to see Cobra's leadership without a Tele-Viper handy. Availability:

Vipers: those Cobras who show great promise as combatants are often promoted to that organization's light infantry: the Vipers! These thoroughly trained, highly motivated, and well-equipped operatives are a serious threat to freedom world-wide! Availability:

Wild Weasel: a self-made man bearing loyalty to no nation, Wild Weasel gleefully supports Cobra as long as the checks keep coming. Widely considered Cobra's best pilot, Wild Weasel is infamous for his seemingly supernatural mastery of the Rattler! Availability:

the Crimson Guard:

Crimson Guard Immortals: elite amongst the Crimson Guard, themselves the apex of Cobra forces, the Immortals seem like super soldiers! Leaders of men and masters of war, Crimson Guard Immortals are so mighty that they're feared even by GI Joe! Availability:

Tomax: a cutthroat financier, accomplished acrobat, and amoral mercenary, Tomax is only matched in his avarice by his brother, Xamot. Together, the twins bankroll much of Cobra's operations, and are the dual masters of its Crimson Guard! Availability:

Dreadnoks:

Ripper: evincing antisocial behavior since he was a toddler, Ripper grew up into a life of crime. This culminated with his joining the Dreadnoks, the only group that would have him, and occasionally performing freelance work for Cobra! Availability:

Zarana: Zartan's sister, Zarana is one of his lieutenants in the Dreadnoks. Her unchecked cruelty, greed, and ambition also garnered her a position as Cobra's second in command for quite some time, an opportunity she milked for all it was worth. Availability:

Zartan: a 'zen cosmic biker hitman', the man known only as Zartan is a criminal with astounding powers of camouflage, regeneration, and super-human strength. Though no one really knows why he did so, Zartan is also the founder of the Dreadnoks. Availability:

Iron Grenadiers:

Destro: the latest in a long line of arms traders, James McCullen Destro XXIV has no problem selling his family's wares to the highest bidder. While personally honorable, he has no qualms about working with the likes of Cobra and other despotic villains. Availability:

Iron Grenadiers: drawn from the ranks of earth's elite mercenaries, the Iron Grenadiers are the core of Destro's personal army. Insidious saboteurs and relentless arms dealers, the Iron Grenadiers are supremely motivated, as they get a cut of every MARS sale! Availability:

Python Patrol:

HEAT-Pythons: Cobra's anti-armor specialists, HEAT-Pythons (High-Explosive Anti-Tank) utilize the latest in wire-guided projectiles. While their gear can flatten almost any armor, it takes guts to steer those missiles home while GI Joe fires on them! Availability:

Lampreys: Lampreys are Eels who have been extensively trained in ship to ship combat maneuvers, and are assigned their own Cobra vehicles. They use these craft to patrol Cobra-controlled beachfronts, and regularly engage in battle with other ships. Availability:

Laser-Pythons: equipped with powerful, back-mounted laser cannons, the Laser-Python corps can indeed fry enemy targets at close range. However, their main job is to 'paint' enemy targets with their lasers, which allows allied munitions to 'ride' right to them! Availability:

Major Bludd: originally a Major in the Australian Special Air Service, the promise of riches lured Sebastian Bludd away from his patriotic duty and transformed him into a rather amoral mercenary - a path that ultimately led to his employment by Cobra! Availability:

Rock-Pythons: using the latest in climbing gear, and conditioned to work effectively at high altitudes, Rock-Pythons are Cobra's mountaineering experts. They easily take the high ground with their advanced climbing skills, and hold it with their heavy ordnance! Availability:

SAW-Pythons: bearers of Cobra's Squad Attack Weapons, SAW-Pythons bring the firepower. They're strong enough to haul their heavy weaponry and ordnance anywhere needed, and are usually more than happy to discharge every bullet they bring along! Availability:

Equipment:

the Firebat: a staple of Cobra air power since its initial rollout in 1986, the Firebat essentially consists of a cockpit strapped over a F104 Cobrajet Turbine, with barely enough control surfaces and armaments to let it serve as more than a suicide device. Availability:

the High Speed Sentry, Mark 2b: a completely upgraded version of Cobra's classic ground armr, the Mark 2 HISS features a two-man cockpit, a greater passenger capacity, an even deadilier turret, and additional weapon systems the original lacks entirely! Availability:

Crimson Guard:

the Crimson Attack Tank (CAT): the target of Cobra espionage for years, the GI Joe team's MOBAT tank was finally duplicated by that organization's Crimson Guard. As such, the Guard has finally rolled out its functional equivalent, the Crimson Attack Tank! Availability:

the Crimson Command Copter: after suffering numerous defeats by GI Joe thanks to their Night Attack Choppers, Cobra seized the opportunity to return the favor when they captured a few, repurposing them as the Crimson Guard's Command Copter! Availability:
