Origin:
As are most of his of his fellow Joes, a few statistical anomalies aside, Lifeline is but an ordinary human, one who lacks ascendant powers of any stripe. Though he lacks super-human abilities, he has plenty of medical skills and fighting spirit to get him through missions.
Powers:
(none)
Hindrances / Augmentations:
(none)
Equipment:
Dagger (s): Lifeline carries two of these utilitarian blades with him while on the job. These blades were manufactured from m.s. 13 metals, and can cut through objects of like m.s., given enough time. Lifeline can also use these to inflict +2 slashing damage in melee.
First-Aid Kit (i): his stock in trade, Lifeline always carries a first aid kit with him. His kit consists of various medicines, antibiotics, drugs, sterilized medical tools, and even a small oxygen tank. Lifeline also carries extra first aid gear in various pouches and such.
Flare Gun (i): while it can conceivably be used offensively, Lifeline's flare gun isn't really meant to inflict damage. It can fire a burning projectile high into the air, signaling his location to others or to send specific, pre-arranged message.
Search Light (i): Lifeline carries a powerful halogen lamp when on the job with the Joes. He can use this oversized lamp to produce intensity 8 illumination within near missile distance, allowing him to pierce the night and find wounded soldiers and innocents with ease.
Sidearm (a): Lifeline always carries a standard-issue firearm with him on GI Joe missions. When necessary, he can discharge a single round from this weapon to inflict his Agility +4 in damage, or a three-round burst to inflict his Agility +5 in damage.
Skills:
Boxing (s): one skill he picked up in Army basic training is the ability to defend himself unarmed should he need to. In unarmed melee, Lifeline can divide his pre-card play action score between two attacks, the last of which he may attempt as a contingent action.
First Aid (i): Lifeline has been a paramedic for years. When treating a dying person, he can make use of a limited form of the Medicine skill, allowing him to restore one card worth of lost Health to a body who was KO'd in the last exchange with an average difficulty Intellect action.
Guns (a): one of two skills he has gained as a result of enlisting, Lifeline is now competent with most firearms. Whether it be a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, or even esoteric weapons like shotguns, Lifeline can fire them at a reduced difficulty.
Military / United States (w): Lifeline is a member of the United States Army, and as such has had to go through the same basic training the rest of the armed forces have. As such, he knows military protocols and procedures like the back of his hand, and receives extra military contacts.
Contacts:
While he's a newer member of GI Joe, Lifeline can nonetheless rely upon his comrades-in-arms for assistance should he need it; after all, the Joes take care of their own. Furthermore, Lifeline has many additional, as of yet undocumented contacts in military and medical circles.
Calling:
Thrill-Seeker, with a secondary calling of Protector: while he enjoys his work as a paramedic, Lifeline isn't in it to help people so much as he is to get an adrenaline rush. An action junkie, he enjoys leaping into harm's way, and gets a thrill from pulling folks out of danger.
Costume:
Lifeline's GI Joe field uniform consists of white trousers, a white T-shirt under a black, pouch-laden vest, black leather boots, a black leather belt, various red and black straps, holsters, and sheathes distributed throughout his uniform, and a ton of black, belt-mounted pouches.
Personality:
Greg is the absolute coolest under pressure - it takes a whole lot to faze him. That's why he joined the Army after all - he was looking for a challenge! As such, he readily volunteers for the hairiest of missions, and has no problem wading through a firefight to help his comrades.

Story:
Lifeline was a New York City paramedic who had quite the reputation for keeping his cool. No matter how sticky a situation got, the guy could maintain a level head. He was very good at what he did, but he ultimately found something lacking in his job, something he couldn't easily finger.
At least, not until he was persuaded by an Army recruiter to join up for the challenge of it all, not to mention the ability to engage in 'a new kind of combat'. As such, Lifeline enlisted in the Army, and he went through the same training that every other recruit has to.
Eventually proving himself as an Army medic, Lifeline showed personal excellence in the planning and execution of rescue operations, usually being ten steps ahead of most calamaties that could occur in the process of pulling the wounded out of pretty much anywhere.
This impressed the high-ups in the GI Joe team, who are always on the lookout for the best of the best in government service, whether military or civilian. When offered a position on the Joe team, Lifeline was eager to offer his services as a 'lifeline' for the team.
Of course, nobody bothered to tell him that there was already a Joe on the team with that code name. Nonetheless, Lifeline has quickly shown that he is worthy of GI Joe membership, and is more than happy to wade into the nastiest missions and situations with them. He thinks it's fun!
2004 Variations
Equipment:
Comm Suite (i): Lifeline now carries a communications suite with him on missions, so he can call in medical evacuations of wounded personnel. These systems, usually consisting of a backpack with a helmet-mounted mouthpiece, work with intensity 5 power (25 mile range).
Gravity Sled (i): Lifeline's gravity sled is basically a small hover platform, which he can ride either standing up or prone. The thing can glide over most any terrain at intensity 1 air speed (30 MPH) safely, or fly at up to intensity 2 speeds (60 MPH) in an emergency.
Costume:
Lifeline's second GI Joe field uniform consists of camouflage tan camouflage trousers, a black T-shirt under a dark green, pouch-laden vest, a green cap, brown and black leather boots, a black leather belt, and various black straps, holsters, pouches, and sheathes across his uniform.
