the Ice Sabre

A half-track, half-ski vehicle built for GI Joe's to use in snowy terrain, one might think the Ice Sabre is intended as a replacement for long time Joe mainstay the Snow Cat... and they may be right. The powerful and versatile Ice Sabre has these vehicular characteristics:

Handling
RV 10
Velocity
RV 20
Durability
RV 30
Protection
RV 20

Communications Array: the Ice Sabre is equipped with an extremely powerful, gigahertz-frequency, frequency-wobbler radio system. This makes for rank value 10 communications power (with a 25 mile range) that features rank value 30 signal encryption.

Gun Turret: on the back of the Ice Sabre is a gun station that is normally protected by armored plates, but can be elevated in a pinch to reveal its full power. While lowered, the operator of the gun turret can only fire the machine gun mounted on (see below).

However, when raised, he or she also has access to two missile launchers, one mounted on each side of the turret; of course, while so raised, they no longer gain the benefit of the vehicle's Protection rating. The Ice Sabre's missiles have these characteristics:

Handling
RV 20
Velocity
RV 50
Durability
RV 20
Damage
RV 30 Slashing (fragmentary)

When these missiles are fired, they each inflict the listed damage when they strike a target individually. When two missiles are fired at a foe, the damage inflicted is boosted by +1 RS, while hitting a foe with all four will improve their damage by +2 RS.

Machine Guns: say what you will about the Ice Sabre, but the thing is definitely heavily armed. There are four (count 'em) separate machine guns mounted on the Ice Sabre: one on each of the skis, one behind the cockpit, and one on the raising gun turret.

Each of these guns can be fired to devastating effect. They can discharge one round to inflict rank value 6 Piercing damage, a short burst of rounds to inflict rank value 10 Piercing damage, or fire rounds continuously to inflict rank value 20 Piercing damage.

Furthermore, these guns can be fired in a manner that allows them to concentrate damage on a single foe. The two ski-mounted guns do this automatically, though they can only hit things immediately in front of the Ice Sabre. Concentrating fire adds a +1 RS to the damage inflicted.

2006 Variations

Just two years after its initial debut in the GI Joe arsenal, the Ice Sabre was modified slightly. Technically speaking, the '06 model of Ice Sabre is functionally same as the '04 version, but it sports a green and white camouflage pattern, instead of the original white and gray.
