Origin:

As are her fellows in the Joe team, GI Jane is naught but a normal human, having no unique abilities of her own. However, she's very good at what she does, and works hard to fight for the forces of freedom with only conventional military hardware to back her up.

Known Powers:

(none)

Limitations / Enhancements:

(none)

Equipment:

Knife: Jane's always got at least one of these handy at all times, sometimes two while in the field. Made from Incredible (40) material strength metals, Jane can either use these blades to cut through items of like m.s., or instead inflict Edged Attack damage in melee.

Machine Gun: her primary personal offensive weapon, Jane can discharge one round from this weapon to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, a short burst of such to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage, or be fired continuously to inflict Excellent (20) Shooting damage.

Sidearm: her backup piece, Jane can use this weapon when her primary is either impractical or disabled. It can either discharge one round to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, or instead discharge a short burst of rounds to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage.

Quirks:

(none)

Talents:

Detective / Espionage: Jane's military experience includes considerable counter-intelligence work. As such, she has attended a variety of different schools to learn everything she needs, and gains a +1 CS whenever digging into mysteries or pumping others for information.

First Aid: though her cover on the GI Joe team was as a combat nurse, Jane knows first aid. With her assistance, a dying person will not only stop losing Endurance ranks, but recover one immediately. Jane can also stabilize a body at Shift 0 Endurance for 5 turns.

Guns: a skill Jane picked up as a general matter of course, she can fire most standard weapons with ease. Whenever wielding a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, Jane may do so as though her Agility was +1 CS in rank.

Marksman: furthermore, Jane has learned the fine art of line-of-sight weaponry, able to calculate trajectories and do three-dimensional math in her head. This gives her a +1 CS when using mortars, rockets, or correctly pinpointing where to zap something with her electron cannon.

Martial Arts type B: an essential skill she picked up during her basic training, this talent showcases Jane's ability to defend herself while unarmed. When she attempts to punch, kick, or otherwise strike a foe while unarmed, Jane may do so at her Fighting score +1 CS.

Military / United States: though she enlisted decades ago, Jane has proven herself time and time again in the Army, both in the lab and the field. Successful in both, she can seamlessly integrate herself into almost any military structure, and knows the SOP like the back of her hand.

Contacts:

As a member of the first GI Joe team, Jane can easily rely upon the surviving members of that group - especially her husband Joseph - for any assistance she may need. Her experience also gives her camaraderie with the current Joes, who she can also consider her contacts.

Costume:

Jane wears a simple, but effective GI Joe uniform. It consists of a gray T-shirt with the GI Joe logo on the chest, green and black camouflage trousers, brown leather boots, gloves, and knee pads, overlapping brown belts, and black web gear to carry some of her stuff.

Personality:

Jane is an old hat at military action, having served on the original GI Joe team way back in the day. She's smart, tough and capable, and can fill most any role in a mission required of her. Though she's getting on years, don't let that fool you for an instant.

Story:

Jane has invested a long, long time in the military, but then she has a deep love for her country. She enlisted decades ago, and has proven herself time and time again. Due to a combination of her considerable skills and sheer toughness, she was chosen to serve on an elite military team.

This group, formed by the late President Kennedy himself, was called GI Joe. Headed by Lieutenant Joseph Colton, it was to report directly to the President, and designed to handle strange threats that an ordinary military response would prove inefficient against.

Though her cover was a combat nurse, Jane actually fought evil with her fellow GI Joes regularly, doing so for several years. When the team disbanded for a while, Jane went to get her PhD in particle physics, after which time she worked to develop powerful weapons for the military.

Her crowning masterpiece is the rapid-pulse electron cannon situated in the Chrysler building, which could bounce a beam of devastating destructive power anywhere within this hemisphere. She led this station with Joseph Colton, leader of her old GI Joe team.

And over time, the two wound up growing closer... so much so that they eventually tied the knot. They continued work on the electron cannon for years, even after getting the thing to finally work. Cobra regularly tries to swipe its technology, so it needs continuous repairs.

(Historical Divergence)

Later, when Joseph was tapped to lead the newer incarnation of the GI Joe team, Jane continued her work in the Chrysler building, though she occasionally finds herself pulled into the field to start up a ruckus. One such instance was when Cobra almost took over the entire world.

This was during World War III, a conflict Cobra instigated for just that purpose. While most of the government was knocked out or rendered helpless, Jane helped Joseph and all the Joes they could contact coordinate a counter-attack against Cobra's final gambit to rule the world.

Though it was a hard fight, Jane and her fellow Joes ultimately won the fight against Cobra, and are now in the process of rounding up those Cobras who escaped Justice upon their defeat. Of course, some are still fighting it out as if they hadn't actually lost.

And Jane is more than ready to pound them into submission from her facility in New York when necessary.

2017 Variations

Costume:

Jane's second GI Joe uniform has a much more technical look than her original. It is comprised of a long sleeved, white collared shirt worn beneath a white lab coat, olive drab trousers, an olive drab leather belt and hip holster, and brown leather boots.
