Red Zone, a member of the GI Joe's reserve Steel Brigade unit, lacks exceptional powers. Though he excels in his field and possesses multiple useful skills, this member of the Steel Brigade is but a normal human, no matter how much he may seem larger than life.
Limitations / Enhancements:
Grenades: Steel Brigadiers usually go into combat with at least one grenade handy. They can fling these explosive devices to inflict rank value 30 Slashing damage to all targets within a given sector that are not currently under cover.
Helmet: all members of the Steel Brigade wear a particularly distinctive chrome helmet, which include a mirrored visor (for rank value 10 Screened Senses / Sight). This headgear offers Steel Brigade troopers like protection to physical attacks striking them in their heads.
Knife: a vital tool for any armed representative of the government, Red Zone carries one of these at all times. Made from m.v. 40 materials, this blade can be used to cut through items of up to like m.v., given enough time, or to inflict Slashing damage in melee.
Revolver: unlike most of his compatriots, Red Zone carries an old-style revolver with him on missions as his secondary piece; he just likes the thing. He can fire this weapon to inflict rank value 10 Piercing damage per shot, and can fire six shots before he must reload it.
Sidearm: a backup for his main weapons should the rest all fail him somehow, Red Zone can either fire one round from this weapon to inflict rank value 6 Piercing damage, or instead discharge a three-round burst to inflict rank value 10 Piercing damage.
Shotgun: Red Zone prefers to wield a shotgun in the field. He can inflict rank value 6 Piercing damage in a sixty degree arc when firing birdshot, rank value 10 Piercing damage to adjacent foes when firing buckshot, or rank value 20 Piercing damage to one target when firing slugs.
Guns: both as an FBI operative and as a GI Joe, Red Zone has learned how to use guns quite well. Whether he's handling a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol, Red Zone may do so as though his Coordination was +1 RS higher than is listed above.
Law Enforcement: before he was fired for 'unnecessary roughness', Red Zone was a member of the FBI. This got the attention of the GI Joe team, who hooked him up as a member of their Steel Brigade. Red Zone's FBI experience gives him state and federal legal knowledge.
Martial Arts style B: Red Zone is well-versed in urban combat, and can easily fight the forces of darkness without a weapon when necessary. While attempting unarmed strikes (punches, kicks, etc.), Red Zone may do so at his Melee trait +1 RS.
Military / United States: the source of all his talents, Red Zone has this skill as a general matter of course. As you may have guessed, he has an instinctual understanding of the SOP, and can seamlessly blend into, and function within, a military group of men and women.
Piloting: though the origins of this skill are a mystery, Red Zone has demonstrated the ability to effectively fly most fixed-wing aircraft when necessary. While he's no fighter pilot, he can easily handle most such aircraft with a +1 RS bonus.
Red Zone has contacts in the form of his fellow Steel Brigade operatives, and as a result the GI Joe team as a whole. Furthermore, as a former FBI operative, Red Zone can count several of his former, fellow federal agents as reliable contacts as well.
Red Zone wears a modified version of the Steel Brigade uniform. It includes a grass green vest beneath a blue tank top, tan trousers, black leather boots, gloves and holsters, a black leather belt, and a distinctive chrome and green helmet with a black visor.
Luke's personality can be summed up in one word: excessive. He likes to go all out in everything he does, usually to ridiculous extremes. Of course, since he fights terrorists and other criminals for a living, this tends to cause everything in his vicinity to ultimately explode.

Red Zone originally joined the FBI because he wanted to make a difference. Of course, Red Zone's preferred method of law enforcement often resembled that of an action movie star, as he had a tendency to pound suspects into pulp, and often blew huge holes in their property for fun.
Oddly, his handlers took exception to this, and Red Zone couldn't really see why; after all, they usually shot at him first, so it all came down to 'necessary force' to him. He was good at bringing in the scum of the earth, but they'd often file lawsuits as a result of his methods.
Since he was a hot potato, the Feds had a better use for Red Zone. Seeing his 'discipline problems' as an asset, Red Zone was approached by the GI Joe team - who was always on the lookout for people with Red Zone's abilities. Thinking them a better outlet for him, Red Zone readily enlisted.
He had to go through basic military training, of course, not to mention survive the Joes' devastating entrance exam, but Red Zone managed these feats with aplomb. Having earned his place on the team, Red Zone was shuffled into its reservist unit, the Steel Brigade.
Whenever the Joes are active in California, they usually pick Red Zone up to join in on the 'fun', or consult him when something fishy is going on by his home. This allows Red Zone to blow up terrorists without having to worry about being screamed at by his superiors on a regular basis.
And Red Zone has proved his mettle several times, with the Steel Brigade and GI Joe in general. Red Zone has a good working relationship with Rook, another Steel Brigadier, and the two are often pulled in for special GI Joe operations above and beyond their usual charter.
