Fringe Groups

The fight between GI Joe and Cobra has been raging for over twenty years now, and the two groups have been pretty much preoccupied with each other during that time. However, other groups of note sometimes get in the way of this conflict, or happen to take on one side or the other when their agendas cross paths. Some of the more noteworthy groups of this stripe include:

the Manimals: Manimals are a special kind of alien being that hail from the Lunartix Empire, beings who have found their way to our very own Milky Way galaxy - and they're all shapechangers! Possessing both a humanoid and monstrous form, these powerful aliens use their various powers and high tech gear to cause trouble for the GI Joe Star Brigade...

the Oktober Guard: this small group of elite Warsaw Pact nation operatives is the 'answer' to the GI Joe team. It's a highly trained anti-terrorist strike team that the U.S.S.R. (and later Russia) wielded against the likes of Cobra and other terrorist groups... as well as the GI Joe team, when the two squads found themselves at cross purposes...
