Like the rest of her fellows in the Oktober Guard, as well as the vast majority of the GI Joe operatives she now works with, Daina is but a normal human. Though she has considerable skills in a wide area of expertise, she has no special powers or such to draw upon in battle.
Hindrances / Augmentations:
Dragunov Sniper Rifle (a): Daina's preferred weapon, the Dragunov is a sniper rifle with semi-automatic capability; it can be used in close quarters when necessary. It inflicts her Agility +5 in damage when firing one round, or her Agility +6 in damage when discharging several.
Grenade Launcher (i): on occasion Daina makes use of this device. It can fire grenades anywhere within far missile distance of her person, explosives which inflict intensity 10 fragmentary damage upon all uncovered targets within near missile distance of their detonation point.
Knife (s): like most members of the military, Daina carries a blade on her at all times. She can wield this weapon to inflict her Strength +2 damage in melee, and since it is made from m.s. 13 materials, it can be used to cut through anything of up to that m.s. in time.
Makarov PM Pistol (a): in the event that her other weaponry is impractical or unavailable, Daina keeps this firearm in a handy hip holster. It can discharge one round to inflict her Agility +4 in damage, or a short burst of lead to inflict her Agility +5 in damage.
Boxing (s): a vital portion of her basic military training, Daina knows how to fight while unarmed. She may divide her pre-card play action score between two unarmed melee attacks, the second of which she may attempt as a contingent action.
Guns 2 (a): Daina is a world-class sniper. She can wield any standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol at a reduced difficulty, using Strength or Agility to trump, though she usually prefers her old-style Dragunov for long-range shots.
Languages / Czech, Dari, English, and Russian (i): a native of the former Czechoslovakia, Daina can naturally read, write, and speak in her original tongue. Supplementing that, she's picked up a variety of other languages during her time in the Oktober Guard, as well.
Leadership (w): a supplement to her basic military training, Daina has a naturally tactical mind. She excels at making and executing combat plans, and any group following her lead on such gains a +1 to related actions as long as they don't deviate from her directives.
Military / Czechoslovakia (w): this is where Daina got her start. She began as a soldier in this organization, though she quickly moved on to work with the Oktober Guard due to her extensive skills. Daina is well-versed in military policies and procedures.
Piloting (a): on top of her other competencies, Daina is quite the helicopter pilot. While she can easily handle some fixed-wing aircraft in a pinch, Daina is primarily trained in the operation of helicopters, which she can do at a reduced difficulty level.
Soldier: more than anything else, Daina has always worked hard to prove herself, both for her own self-worth as well as to gain the approval of Colonel Brekhov. She does this so she may better protect her country from its many enemies, whoever they may be at any given moment.
Daina worked with both incarnations of the Oktober Guard, being one of only two people who lived that long. As such she can readily rely upon her fellows for aid should she but ask for it, as she's saved their lives more times than any of the Guard can count these days.
Mind you, Daina has recently joined up with the GI Joe team. Many of the Joes recall working with (or against) her over the years, and are well aware of her ability and skill. However, knowing she's on their side now they'd gladly help her out on the job if asked to.
Daina's original field uniform consisted of tan trousers (sometimes shorts), a two-tone green camouflage patterned shirt over a tan tank top, black leather boots and gloves, green leather belts, holsters, and web gear to hold various gear, and of course a large fur cap.
Daina would occasionally replace the fur cap with a leather pilot's helmet (usually while flying the Guard about).
For a short time, Daina took the code name of 'Volga', and adopted a second uniform. It was similar to her first, though the shirt and trousers now bore a green, tan, and brown camouflage pattern, and her fur hat was replaced with a baseball cap. And she dyed her hair red for a bit.
Upon joining the GI Joe team, Daina picked up a new look entirely. It includes a gray shirt with a red 'crow' emblem on it, two-tone gray camouflaged trousers, brown leather gloves, belts, knee pads, and holsters, black leather boots, light gray web gear, and a gray military cap.
Daina learned her trade in a military culture that generally marginalized women, and thus is used to working twice as hard as others of otherwise equal standing to prove her worth. She has a chronically bad temper, which is matched by an equally surprising sense of humor in the field.

Daina got her start in the Czechoslovakian military under mysterious circumstances, where she acquired a wide variety of skills - any one of which would've made her a stand-out solder in her own right. She's a competent tactician and helicopter pilot, and a world-class sniper.
This, along with a natural talent for languages, got Daina noticed by the powers that be in the Soviet Union, who were then allies of her homeland. Seeing a need for a person with her particular skill set, they 'requested' she join up with the elite Oktober Guard anti-terrorist team.
This tightly-knit group, which ultimately numbered in at but six operatives, was active in and around the Soviet Union. They worked incessantly to root out and destroy threats to their nations, a large portion of which were situated in the east: Afghanistan and Pakistan in particular.
A lot of this work involved the Guard opposing the efforts of Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world! On occasion, this would also cause the Guard to come into conflict with the GI Joe team, an American group which had a similar mission to their own.
Sometimes the Guard and the Joes would work together, and sometimes they wouldn't. Either way, Daina was usually first in line to take a shot at the Joes when she could, most often because of the ill treatment she received during her first meeting with several of the original Joes.
Of course, things always change, and in time the Soviet Union dissolved. When this happened the Oktober Guard was officially disbanded, though by this time most of its original roster had been killed in action. Daina then returned home to the new, Czech Republic.
She worked with her former Guardsmen occasionally afterward however, one of which included a trip into space with Red Star and Dragonsky to destroy a mad Soviet-era scientist's weaponized asteroid platform that had run amok - a mission that saw her working well with GI Joe.
Daina continued to serve her country well, often with former teammates and occasionally on her lonesome, though democracy's return had created new problems for her land. This was punctuated with the turn of her former teammate, Lt. Gorky, to organized crime a few years back.
After Gorky's death at the hands of Destro, Daina decided she needed something of a change. Moving to America after this incident, she was quickly recruited by the American military, and became a member of the GI Joe team - which she used to despise - in her own right soon after.
She served alongside the Americans in their never-ending war with Cobra for a few years, at least until the team disbanded a second time.
She returned to action a few years after this, fighting Cobra forces alongside Lt. Falcon and the surviving members of the Oktober Guard when they tried to conquer Russia, along with the rest of the world, during World War III. With her aid, Cobra was narrowly defeated at the last minute.
It is unknown what Daina got up to after this point. She may have remained a Joe, or may possibly have rejoined an all-new, official Oktober Guard if it was reformed. Most of the planet had decided to take Cobra much more seriously after it almost destroyed the earth, after all!
