Ysen is a light elf, born within the mysterious plane of Alfheim. She has since taken to wandering the planes however, where she has slowly developed a keen personal awareness of her being - one which has resulted in the manifestation of natural, belief-based psionics.

Known Powers:

Infravision: like other elves, Ysen was blessed with the power to peer into multiple portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. In particular, Ysen has the ability to see by heat as well as light, an ability that is wielded by her at rank value 10.

Longevity: though not ageless like fairies, elves usually possess some manner of extended lifespan. Ysen herself possesses this power at rank value 2, which grants her a five hundred and sixty year eventual lifespan (assuming death by old age).

Believer Psionics (Superpsi Powers):

Self Control (s): Ysen's mind and body are virtually one with each other. As such, she wields this 'power' at rank value 20, allowing her to recall past events, roll initiative, and resist psionic influence at the applicable traits +1 RS.

Enchanted Bow: Ysen carries little on her besides this item, a powerful weapon of occult origin that was handed down to her by her own father. Crafted from mere wood, the bow has been enchanted such that it is of material value 150.

That's merely window dressing, however, for the true power of this bow is in what it does to the arrows it fires. To wit, it transforms them into mystic energy once fired, causing those who get hit by said arrows to suffer rank value 40 Sorcerous damage per strike.

As such, Ysen will typically restrain herself in the use of this bow's supernatural power unless absolutely necessary; she'd rather not kill if she can avoid doing so. In other words, the use of this arrow-transforming power is voluntary, which lets its wielder 'pull her punch' if so desired.

Quirks:

Abnormal Appearance: the young Ysen possesses an unusual appearance, even for an elf. Sure, she has he generally slight build and pointy ears common to her kind, but her grass green skin tends to draw attention to her, making it nigh-impossible to move without notice.

Alertness: Ysen is incredibly in tune with her surroundings - so much so, in fact, that she's rarely caught off-guard. Whenever someone is using stealth talents (or powers) in her vicinity, Ysen automatically gains an Awareness ACT to detect them.

Skills:

Bows 2: Ysen is quite skilled in the use of a bow. So much so, in fact, that whenever wielding one in combat, Ysen may do so as though her Coordination score was +2 RS in value. She almost always hits what she's aiming for, no matter how small or fast it may be.

Lore / Demonologist: a large portion of Ysen's past has been spent in mortal combat with demonic folks - and this wasn't a defensive war, either. Whenever dealing in matters of a demonic nature, Ysen should receive a +2 RS to applicable Intellect ACTs.

Ysen was formerly part of a troupe of demon hunters, teaching fell creatures of the lower depths not to wander too far from their evil warrens. She's since made her way to the earthly plane, and has joined up with the so-called Variety Show... and her good friend, Och.

Costume:

Ysen generally wears comfortable outfits while adventuring. These usually consist of a practical pair of brown leather walking boots, a green blouse, green leggings, a brown leather belt, various leather straps to hold her adventuring gear and bow, and of course a quiver for her arrows.

Personality:

Though one wouldn't know it from her quiet demeanor, Ysen is a deeply passionate young elf. Of course, her actions tend to betray this nature, as she's more than happy to act - and fast - if she feels she must. And is rarely swayed by 'talk' once she's made up her mind about anything.

Story:

Ysen is still rather young for someone of her particular species, what with her being only fifty or so years old. Even she doesn't know her exact age, for numbers - much less the passage of time - are irrelevant to her. You see, she's got bigger fish to fry than mere time keeping.

After her people were assaulted by vicious demons hailing from a few planes down the road, Ysen decided to return the favor, and has hunted the monsters ever since. They killed her friends and family, after all, so Ysen didn't really feel that she had much to lose at that point.

She didn't do much damage at first, at least not until she met up with a group of like-minded planar adventurers. This cadre of demon hunters made repeated forays into devilish realms, inflicting serious harm on the evil beings - though at great cost to their own numbers.

Though many of these demon hunters have subsequently gone their separate ways, a small troupe of them stuck together. They continued to work against demonic influence across the planes, and Ysen has seen many realms alongside her fellow demon hunters - including our own.

Ysen returned to our world somewhat recently, in fact, when her good friend Och disappeared after a trip to his native Nidavellir. Learning he was present in our dimension somewhere, Ysen sought him out, only to run afoul of the dragon Elys, who made Ysen a deal.

Though she didn't trust the reptilian giant, Ysen felt she had no choice but to accept Elys' offer. Elys needed minions, you see, and would give Ysen the information she needed to find Och in exchange for her services for a short period of time, in her so-called Tenacious Ten.

Ysen thus joined this villainous group, and engaged in violence against a group of heroes intent on Elys' life - though Ysen's heart wasn't in the fight, what with her not being evil, per se. When the Ten - and eventually, Elys - were defeated, Ysen continued her quest for Och.

She ultimately tracked her dwarven friend down in the wilds of Mexico, which he was helping to rid of its various supernatural dangers. Though angry with Och at first, Ysen relented when she realized her friend hadn't come to earth willingly, and the two reconciled shortly thereafter.

Since Och was a member of the so-called Variety Show, Ysen signed up with them as well - and remains with them to this very day!
