Origin:

The Cobra known only as the Interrogator is a high-tech villain. Supplementing his world-class psychological skills with hypnotic equipment, he can readily extract intelligence from just about anyone, a trait used by Cobra on both operatives and its enemies alike!

Known Powers:

(none)

Limitations / Enhancements:

(none)

Equipment:

Battle Copter: when circumstances demand he emerge from the shadows, the Interrogator breaks out his Battle Copter! This man-portable (albeit barely) helicopter allows the Interrogator to combat his foes in three dimensions, and is described in its own vehicular entry.

Grenades: pinned to his web gear, these explosives can be flung at his opponents while on the ground, or dropped on foes from above while he's flying! They detonate to inflict rank value 30 Slashing damage to all uncovered targets within the sector they explode inside.

Helmet: that which makes the Interrogator a high-tech villain, his helmet is a marvel of mind control technology! But first and foremost it is a helmet, which provides the Interrogator rank value 10 protection against physical assaults striking him anywhere in the head.

What makes it special, however, is the custom-built voice modulator and trance-inducing LED array. Each of these individually bolster the Interrogator's manipulation skills by +1 RS, but if both are used in conjunction, these implements will give him a total +2 RS bonus!

Knives: useful both while in the field and when influencing others to talk, the Interrogator carries at least one blade at all times. These m.v. 40 implements can be used to cut through things of up to like m.v., or to inflict Slashing damage in melee combat.

Sidearm: stored in a handy hip holster, the Interrogator keeps this weapon as a backup for his submachine gun. It can either be used to discharge one round, inflicting rank value 6 Piercing damage, or to instead fire a three-round burst, inflicting rank value 10 Piercing damage.

Submachine Gun: his primary weapon, aside from his people sklls, the Interrogator may discharge one round from it to inflict rank value 6 Piercing damage, a short burst of such to inflict rank value 10 Piercing damage, or fire it continuously to inflict rank value 20 Piercing damage.

What's unique about the Interrogator's firearm is that it has an underslung claw that he may use to grasp adjacent targets. This metal 'hand' can grip with rank value 20 ability, using that value when utilized for either Grabbing or Grappling assaults on the Interrogator's foes.

Quirks:

(none)

Skills:

Guns: it pays to know your way around firearms in the Interrogator's line of work. Familiar with most modern rifles and pistols, of either a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic bent, the Interrogator may fire such weapons as though his Coordination was +1 RS in value.

Manipulation 2: if there's one thing that the Interrogator knows, it's how to affect the behavior of others. He may add a +2 RS bonus to such attempts, whether relying upon honeyed words, the inspiration of terror, or even the infliction of grievous bodily harm.

Martial Arts style B: even without his guns, the Interrogator isn't useless in a fight. No, he has been trained in the art of hand-to-hand combat, and may add a +1 RS bonus to his Melee trait when attempting to punch, kick, elbow drop, or even headbutt his opponents.

Military: there's more to the Interrogator's military experience than his sharp uniform. He's demonstrated obvious skill in the art of mass combat, and though it is unknown what nation gave him his military training, the Interrogator has benefited greatly from it.

Piloting: as most of his work for Cobra is somewhat behind the scenes, it often confounds others when they learn that he's also an accomplished pilot! While he specializes in helicopters, the Interrogator may add a +1 RS bonus to Handling ACTIONs called for when flying any aircraft.

Psychology 2: supplementing his fear-inducing ability to pull others' strings, the Interrogator has intensely studied the inner workings of the human psyche. As such, he benefits from a +2 RS bonus on Intellect ACTIONs called for when attempting to determine the behavior of others.

Contacts:

The Interrogator is a member of Cobra loathed by most of his fellows, for he's like a one-man secret police for the Commander. However, the organization relies upon his unparalleled ability to acquire sensitive knowledge from its foes, keeping him in excellent standing with it.

Costume:

The Interrogator's first work uniform is comprised of a gray and Cobra blue jacket, blue trousers with red stripes on the sides, black leather boots and gloves featuring steel bands, a black leather belt, black web gear, and a black high-tech helmet with a red one-way face plate.

Personality:

Calling the Interrogator inherently manipulative may seem patently obvious, but hey, if the shoe fits. The man simply knows too much about people and how they behave, which makes it all too easy for him to get whatever he wants out of them - even without all his high-tech frippery.

And the Interrogator doesn't care who he plies his trade upon. While he's a member of Cobra, he happily utilizes his skills against them, whether or not he was ordered to by other members of the Cobra Command. Friend or foe, only the Interrogator's desires matter to the Interrogator.

Story:

Like many members of Cobra, the background of the Interrogator is an enigma. Unlike many of these villains, however, this is because numerous different origns have been attribted to the man, both from hints dropped by himself and rumors others have spread about him.

Some say he was a deposed dictator's head of security, while others believe him to be a rogue psychiatrist with an axe to grind against humanity. Still more in criminal circles believe he's a sadistic IRS agent dipping his toes into international terrorism for fun and profit.

How he wound up working for Cobra is similarly a mystery. Perhaps its Command structure lends itself to his unique predilections, allowing him the freedom to ply his trade upon almost anyone with impunity. Or maybe it's just to test out experimental mind control technology.

Regardless, he is known far and wide throughout intelligence circles as a ruthless and peerless extractor of secrets, no matter how obstinate the subject of his ministrations may be. This makes him a chief espionage operative for Cobra, as well as its one-man secret police force.

Thus, he has few friends, for he is feared by friend and foe alike. However, the Interrogator doesn't do what he does to make friends, or to support some ideology or another. No, he does it for personal gain - not to mention the ability to inflict great suffering upon his fellow man.

(Historical Divergence)

While few records of the Interrogator's actions have been captured, one of the few operations he was known to participate in was a mission against Duke, involving his father, Max. While nobody died in this incident, the Interrogator managed to make a very personal enemy out of Duke.

The Interrogator was also a participant in Cobra's Plague Troopers, an elite batch of operatives from various Cobra corps. During his time with this team, in the midst of the Cobra-instigated World War III, the Interrogator grew surprisingly close to Munitia, one of his teammates.

Along with Cobra, the members of the Plague Troopers that weren't killed by each other were finally defeated where the organization got its start. The fate of the Interrogator after this conflict is unknown, but if he survived he was likely incarcarated alongside the other Cobras present.
