GI Joe: 2011 Personnel and Equipment
Personnel:
Ace: a gambler through and through, Brad likes nothing more than a good poker game - hence his code name. It's fitting in two aspects, as Brad is also the Joe team's crack fighter pilot, who's downed more Cobra jets than you can shake a stick at! Availability:
Blowtorch: Timothy joined the Army to master the most ancient weapon: fire! Though he wields the stuff like a demon in battle, Timothy is probably the biggest proponent of fire safety on earth, knowing full well what it's capable of. Availability:
Dial-Tone: an electronics whiz and ham radio expert before graduating high school, Jack enlisted to further his knowledge - but found military life an end unto itself. His sheer joy in working with his hobby helped him become the best RTO out there! Availability:
Duke: with his years of experience in special ops, Duke was an excellent choice to be GI Joe's field leader. Second only to Hawk in the team's command structure, Duke has consistently led the Joes to victory against Cobra over the years! Availability:
Hawk: head of the GI Joe team since its inception in '82, Clayton Abernathy has proven time and time again that he's a capable leader, tactician, and victor in the seemingly eternal war against Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world! Availability:
Leatherneck: Wendell has a long history in the Marines - he's about as intense a 'Jar Head' as you can get. He's so hard core that he attracted the attention of GI Joe, who snapped him up as soon as they could, and put him to work against Cobra immediately! Availability:
Mainframe: an Army Vietnam Veteran, Blaine left Silicon Valley out of sheer boredom to re-enlist - this time as a Marine! With his extensive combat experience and out of this world computer know-how, Blaine was a shoe-in for GI Joe membership! Availability:
Sci-Fi: Seymour does everything slow; no matter how hard you try, you simply can't get the man to hurry anything along. Of course, that's what you want in someone who has to focus energy weapons onto targets a mile away: a whole lot of patience! Availability:
Snake-Eyes: a singularly mysterious man, the commando known only as Snake-Eyes has experienced nothing but tragedy in his life. However, he's persevered through the years, and become a true force to be reckoned with - as would any other ninja master! Availability:
Stalker: though he started out as an urban warlord in Detroit, Lonzo cleaned up his act and joined the Army, quickly becoming one of its very best operatives. A qualified Ranger, helicopter pilot, and field medic, Lonzo is an invaluable GI Joe operative! Availability:
Tunnel Rat: raised on the surly streets of Brooklyn back in the day, Tunnel Rat grew up to be tough, indomitable, and somewhat jaded. Always looking for a good challenge, he's more than ready to climb into nasty Cobra tunnels to ferret out the bad guys! Availability:
Wet-Suit: loud and arrogant, Brian forced his way through both Navy basic and his SEAL training. He then performed his saboteur duties with a gleeful passion, which got him a job on with GI Joe - his destructive joy made him very good at his job! Availability:
Sky Patrol:
Skydive: as their leader and mentor, Lynton constantly pushes the Sky Patrol to be 'all they can be,' in an effort to prepare them for the worst in the field, far from support. This is, of course, when he himself isn't dropped off in the wilds, with only a blade in hand! Availability:
Slaughter's Marauders and Renegades:
Barbecue: thrill-seeker and all around party animal, Barbecue became a fire fighter for the sheer thrill of it all. The only dedicated firefighter on the GI Joe team, Barbecue tends to be placed on missions with the flamethrower experts. Availability:
Lieutenant Falcon: a second generation Green Beret, Vincent Falcone is himself a natural leader. The man excels at inspiring those who serve beneath him, and is a multi-lingual expert in all manner of counter-terrorist operations around the globe. Availability:
Low-Light: lost in the woods for three weeks during a hunting trip gone wrong, Cooper overcame his fear of the dark, animals, and loud noises - and how! He grew up to become one with the night, and is an expert tracker, night spotter, and sniper! Availability:
Mercer: an ex-Cobra Viper who has 'seen the light', Felix has turned on his former terrorist allies and is all about bringing them down. Though unable to work for the Joes in an official capacity, he has found a home in Sergeant Slaughter's Renegades! Availability:
Red Dog: a former pro football player, David Taputapu got sacked for unnecessary roughness. After a stint as a Hollywood stunt man, he was recruited by GI Joe, as the powers that be thought he'd be an excellent addition to Sgt. Slaughter's Renegades! Availability:
Spirit: a psychologist and Vietnam veteran, Charlie is an expert woodsman that brings considerable talent to GI Joe. His fellows fail to understand him now and then, but they respect his skill and his ability to keep them alive! Availability:
Taurus: Varujan Ayvazyan was a Turkish circus acrobat who did undercover work for Interpol, when he wasn't smashing two-by-fours with his face under the big top. An expert in over a dozen languages, Taurus was an ideal candidate to join GI Joe's Renegades! Availability:
Steel Brigade:
the Steel Brigade: GI Joe excels in all areas, but sometimes it comes in handy to work with someone having more localized knowledge. When they need such a specialist, they call the Steel Brigade, their reservists and regional contacts around the world! Availability:
Steel Brigade Deltas: while standard Steel Brigadiers can have any number of specialties, the Brigade's Deltas excel in vehicular combat. Whether the are behind the wheel of a truck or the control stick of a fighter jet, Steel Brigade Deltas bring the ride! Availability:
Equipment:
the Jungle Panther: a tank in miniature, the Jungle Panther packs the fire power of four linked, 60mm cannons, as well as two surface-to-surface missile launchers, into a vehicle the size of a Ford ™ Escort ™. It's a lean, mean, fighting machine! Availability:
the Vehicle Attack / Multi-Purpose (VAMP), Mark 6: this off-road, khaki colored combat vehicle is a complete redesign of the original, taking into account all the best additions to its line over the year - and, of course, a few extra goodies for good measure! Availability:
